Sorry to hear about the loss.

that is pretty cool...i like the way it looks with the top being brighter, and the bottom looking darker like there is alot of depth to it or something. I might have to do something like that when i get my own place...right now i just have a 55 gal saltwater is all.

i dunno about taking the cats off with stock manifolds...i took mine out with long tube headers. Not sure about price of cats either. all i know is the magnaflow muffler i got was 170. dual in dual out with the xpipe in the middle. Im sure with some extra pipe the cost will be a little more, but i wouldnt think 250 bucks. just my .02

Well Im all registered up for the show...looks like there is no turning back now. Just need to know now if I will be needing to find a hotel room, and if we can drive out of the show and come back the next day.

So do we still get the dex cool for our trucks or something else. I will be doing a 160 degree thermostat soonly will need soem coolant.

I guess my suggestion would be to run true duals after the cats with either a magnaflow dual in dual out muffler or the flowmaster super 44s sound decent, loud but decent. All depends on how loud you want to go though. I have long tubes with no cats and the magnaflow dual in dual out and I love it. loud enough but not too loud.
Welcome to the site by the way. There is alot of usefull information here. the search button on the toolbar is decent. i always use that before i ask too many questions.

that is a good story thanks for the laugh. I can see the cats running all over. my roommate has a cat and it is curious till something happens and it takes off scared. usually pretty good laugh.

I will be coming up with the girlfriend. Is there anyway I could stay up there with ya supersub??? I dont know anyone on here and really want to come up. just need a place to stay if i leave my truck there. So count me in for sure.
EDIT - Also when do we have to be registered by. I hope i didnt miss it.

Ill come up there for that. Im in eastern south dakota, but I wouldnt mind checkin it out if we could all get together. I think it would be pretty awesome to be by the GM truck. count me in. Ill be there for sure. Anyone know any good places to stay near there? or do ya just camp out.

that looks like a good deal if it is everything needed...id also like to know that info in case another one comes up. I was curious about the pin though. can we use the stock one, i seen some come with longer pins, does that matter...Thanks

I think that zippy and all the tuners are insanely busy this year. business is booming.

The AWD in the 03 for sure is not controlled by the PCM. from my understanding it is all mechanical. I wish it was though, I would be doing smokey burnouts right now if it was controlled by the PCM. If i want any tire squeal right now, it has to be around a corner, then i can get the back end to come around.

I know you can go to www.gowheatley.com
charlie is a very good guy to deal with. Im sure the others are too, ive just only dealt with wheatley.

same thing happened to me...it bowed out on me and got bent. autobody guys wont fix it. gm said its about 416 bucks for the piece and then to paint it probably another 100 or so i would say. 416 bucks for a piece of plastic is pretty high if you ask me though.

so true so true. thats a good one.

ive seen a writeup on how to do the vette servos for 1st-2nd gear. how hard is it to get to the 3rd-4th gear servos? do you need them?
-
i beleive the hp is supposed to be 650. should be enough ponies to haul the mail, eh. the brakes on those things are huge as well.

Thanks guys. is there anything that i should know before starting this project. i dont have a lift so ill just be using some jack stands. Is that going to be enough? Is there any special tools that I will need out of the ordinary? Will I need any gaskets or anything along them lines that I need to get before I start? I know i will need fluid.
I am probably going with the Transgo HD-2C I was thinking 2 washers. i dont know what they do I just read that I should run either 1 or 2. Im also putting in the corvette servos. im assuming this is only for the 1-2 shift or is it for all?
Thanks again in advance for the information.

Hey guys,
Im thinking about putting in a Transgo-HD2 shift kit along with some vette servos. I do haul a 18 ft fishing boat around. I guess my main question is: will putting in the shift kit hinder my towing very much? will it tow for crap when i put it in?
also, how hard are they to put in when all you have is your driveway and alot of tools.
Thanks in advance,
Kenny

I found the transgo shift kit and the corvette servos on ebay for about 100-120 bucks. are these the only things i need for the shift kit? is there a shift kit for every gear?
Sorry, Im new to the transmission game.
Thanks guys
