  1. leave it to me too be different I think its ugly as hell and what a waste.IMO Whats next? go and put a lift on a vette next time? :shakehead:

Funny you should say that: About an hour from my house there's a customs shop that put a Stingray onto a 4x4 blazer frame, stuffed a blower through the hood, and put a 383 stroker in it. It rides on 38s and has selectable 4 wheel drive... It's a pretty sick little thing to look at...

  2. So I went on an emailing spree, going after every seller on ebay that sold halo projector headlights on ebay for out trucks... I recieved responses from a few of the sellers so far, and one of them actually said I could use an HID conversion kit behind the projector (and that it was not a HALOGEN only setup, like I had questioned about). Apparently the reason it can't be done it because the HID bulbs are longer, and they can burn a hole in the projector lens... it has nothing to do with the actual Halos like I had thought... Sooooooooo when I finally get my truck back I'm going to be guinea-pigging it, I'll show HID before and after projector, and all that fun stuff. Is anybody out there using a 50W kit besides Mr. P? I'm looking for something kinda name-brand (PNs for sylvania stuff and a link to a good adapter harness would be sweeeet)...

    I'll keep you all updated...

(linky to eBay item that is supposed to work "up to 4300k" : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...hlink:middle:us

  3. I used a setup just like that on the main waterline for my house when I lived in CA, and it works as advertised. The problem for us was that there was a hidden cost in changing filters, the cotton ones weren't that costly but the charcoal ones are expensive. But when you consider the cost of the Mr. Clean filters I would say that this would be about the same expense (over the long, long term) but far more versatile setup. Make sure you can get replacement filters; if they are as good as the ones I used then the water flow will reduce to a trickle as the filters begin to clog!

    Mr. P. :)

Thanks P, I think I know what I'm buying with my next paycheck... I get my truck back from my accident (finally) sometime next week... It's been almost 2 months!! So, I'm buying her some Zaino and a water filter for the first of many presents...

  4. So I've been looking for a cheap solution to the water spots on my truck... I always rinse/wash the whole truck and don't have time to run around and dry it before spots develop... I'm in love with my power washer so overspray is also a big factor... While I was looking for a cheap solution to this I came across this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...hlink:middle:us. I was wondering if anyone uses this or a similar setup... I know that a filter like this is basically all there is to the Mr. Clean setup, but this could be used with a power washer...

    Any opinions?

  5. I hate to say it, but it's the secretary's fault. If a dog runs out 10 feet in front of the car (or whatever), there's no stopping. Doesn't matter if she was on the phone or not, the vehicle just can't stop in that distance... Plus if the collar was on loose enough for the dog to slip out of it, that's also the fault of the secretary...

It's a very sad thing when it happens, but it's a part of life... Nobody should sue anybody over it...

  6. nono, I meant the actual + for the philips head. 3 of the screws are + and one is off so it's an X...

I work part time for a small hot rod shop and I would get shot for something so obvious as that... We get paid to be perfectionists so I developed nasty Automotive-OCD, lol.

  7. Well, it'll be great if it actually works...

sswrecker: do you have a pic you could post up of what those projectors look like? I'd be interested in seeing how they look at night and seeing that bracket that you made...

kelleyperformance: let me know how close those lower grills are if you get the time... I might try to do some cut and fab and make one work, but I'd like to know what I have to work with...

    Thanks in advance guys...

  8. thats the security warning light cuz his door is open. had the same dash in my Tahoe. that area is the the message center.

Wouldn't it be sick to gut one of those clusters and put a scan gauge (like the aeroforce) in that area and stuff it in an SSS?

  9. Since I had my truck at the dealer today I figured I would talk to the parts guys and see what's up with the TBSS fogs possibly fitting the SSS. They weren't sure at all about it but pulled up the parts breakdown for both front ends and printed them out for me. Looking at them I don't think that it would work without a decent amount of effort. But then again I asked how much it is for the lower grill part and it's about $90. So it could be worth chopping up one and seeing about just mounting some PIAA's or another projector driving light. Here are the print outs which I scanned in.

This is the post I was looking at, but the diagrams didn't carry over... help somebody?

  10. Did anyone ever try to get the lower TBSS grille to work in the SSS? I read over the other thread and nobody ever showed/said anything conclusive. I would love to be able to make this work in my SSS... Or better yet, has anyone seen an aftermarket version with the halo angel eyes? And no I don't mean the ones that go in brake ducts (does anyone know if those mount towards the front or back of the duct? any pictures?), I mean just like the stock lower grill but with two projectors with halos around them...

Any help/opinions on this would be appreciated!
