  1. Yes. They make a silicone spray, DEI, that I sprayed the pipe with first so it doesn't rust then the wrap and then spray the wrap to water proof it. Wear gloves and a long sleeve shirt when you put it on, b/c it is fiberglass material. A tip I found out, was to wet the wrap before you put it on so the fibers don't get all over you. Ask Ducky(David), he did his I think? He has my old STS system on his truck now.

You could try wrapping from the turbo back to the cats, if you have them, first. That might be all you need?

well james i might wrap them this week. im back in round rock for sat night and sunday with jeff who is at our show all the time. this is my hometown so im not really workin on my truck that much besides painting my engine covers. ill go get some wrap this week and do them. from manifolds all the way to the turbo correct??
  2. lol look a nelson singer...

Man you never give up? I thought this was water under the bridge? I/m sure you help out a lot of people, but you sure are showing your age right now. Sorry if pissed you off, I was just giving the advice to someone you know, because I think that is the advice you gave me a long time ago? Or was it TRT that gave me the advice, I don't know, it was so long ago when I had the STS.

    Good Luck.

  3. You can run stock. I run the super vic jr with the edlbrock elbow and 90mm tb

I have been goin back through all the old threads on here just trying to get myself up to date with everything everyone else has already learned and I found a few diffrent threads about guys blowing a hole in the side of the block on the # 7 cylinder. Riddler is just down the road from me and he had problems with more than one motor with that issue. So I am wondering what is the best manifold to use when running f/i? I saw an article or two on the new edelbrock xt manifold but didn't see anything with people running it yet. What is the best options to go with? What should I be concidering when I upgrade my manifold, if I need to?
  4. According to LS1truck.com he is not telling the whole story?

I tried to get him his core back and I get put down for trying to help?

Danny, I think you just want to stir up trouble. I know money is very tight these days, but to down someone's business is stupid. I'm sure there are some trans. out there that you have built that have taken a shit, but no one is bashing your business for it.

    Useless and Done!

  5. front mounts are junk. High engine bay heat. harder than hell to work under the hood.

That's funny, Mine never gets over 177 - 179 on the water temps and the under hood temps are the same as with the STS Turbo? My intake temps are also the same. I guess its just a matter of opinion.

I like my Trick system a lot better than the STS. The STS was a good system, I just hated that the pump went out and blew oil all thru the motor twice. Anything can go wrong with any system, Turbo can lock up, a Supercharger can lock up, they both push compressed air which equals heat, a SC belt can break, and the ultimate you can blow the motor up.

  6. Rick I have the stock gm E fans right now. I will see how they perform first. They were cheap, so I thoght I would try them first. If they don't I will be looking you up.

The Trick turbo is awesome. I have a wider power band and the turbo spools up so much faster than the STS. I have yet to run it down the 1320 or the dyno. I'd say 100 more hp with your system.

    Thanks for asking.

Jamest all is well I see. Have you had a chance to dyno or go to a race track. Tried looking at the pics but they did not work out. You still thinking about efans, if so that will add about 20hp to the ground. :)

    Drop a line sometime.

  7. Spools pretty quick huh! I would like to know how it would run with a stock stall in there

I was thinking the same thing. I still have the stock one. It has very god driving manners right now. At a 30 punch, the tires break loose at 5 psi. I am running 10 psi on the high setting. At 12 psi I am running out of fuel, so I need a bigger Pump.

  8. Cool, I might consider just buying the kit since everyone seems to have nothing bad to say about it. It would be nice to just take a few hours and bolt everything up rather than taking like a week for me to fab everything up and run into a bunch of setbacks and stuff like usual. I definitely will be making my own piping and throwing an intercooler up front cause running a turbo without one just doesnt seem right. Its gonna be a little longer before I have the $4K for the kit than it would to peice it together but Ill keep everyone posted when i finally get something going. I miss the sound of a turbo under my hood

I'll post some pictures when I get the truck back.

  9. Top quality system. It does it well. And it will support 1000 hp on a well built motor.

I went with the Turbonetics T-76 turbo. I can get 15-25 psi out of it, but my motor won't handle it. I have it set at 12psi. I have searched and the pipng is top quality as well as the welding. I got mine hotcoated for extra security. I will let you know how it runs when I pick it up this weekend.

  10. Im running The Trick kit. All I can say is I love it. I used to have a procharger running the same boost and there is a night and day difference between the 2. My best time so far is a 13.7 . This was full weight and still working on my 4wd launches without blowing threw the brakes. Im also in Colorado where my track is at 5800 ft. Also didn't have the meth on there at the time. Highly recommend The Trick setup. Underhood temps really aren't bad. I also tow a 24ft. enclosed car trailer with it about 6,000 lbs. +

That's great. Allen Nelson has the truck right now and he says its a beast. I ran the STS for a while and decided to go Trick. I ran a 13.4 on the STS and now I should be in the 12' for sure. There is a regular cab from the Texas Valley running a setup just like mine running 11.5's in the quarter on a stock 6.oL and Z06 cam, with no traction, which is the same problem I have. Also my truck is a 3/4 ton = heavy a** truck.

    Thanks for the info.
