  1. Money is a big part of the problem, or maybe said differently a big illustration of the problem. And a large part of my bitterness. You hit the nail on the head saying "they make great money", key word there being "they". I worked an entire career with my father, 20+ years and today I don't have retirement, pension, benefits, *nothing* but bad eyes and tendonitis. We have created a $50M business, and I built all the infrastructure & software, all of it. Trust me my father is doing fine, and I did the heavy lifting. I mis-assumed that my father would treat me equitably, my mistake. I was never treated well by him in childhood, in fact our relationship suddenly materialized when he discovered one day I like to write code; I mistook this business situation as a "relationship" but in fact I've just been used these last 20-years for my talents. So be it, lesson learned; I'm restarting my life. And from what I've heard of others this is like a lot of other father-son businesses, the father does well and the son doesn't get shit. I can tell you this though, it would NEVER enter my mind to treat my own kids like this. But I've realized not to take it all that personally, because my father has done this to every family person in his life, I (nor my sister or mother) are anything special to him in that regard.

I'm ok, I've got far better people in my life now, ones that will work for the win-win relationship.

Wow I feel like I am reading my life story. My father had a side business that after I finished high school we founded a company in 86. Recently he sold it, he and all the money I will never see again. Like you I think I wanted a relationship so badly, that I overlooked his selfishness. In the back of my mind I guess I am not surprised. I always wanted his time but his work always came 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I was always trying to please him, I think of myself as a indentured servant. I have been taking some time to get my head screwed on straight.

My reason for my post is to help others that end up in a family business or whatever. Get promises in writing. Don't take someones words, especially family!

    Here's to moving on

  2. You know I keep looking at that new Silverado. I've come to the conclusion that is a "butter face." You know when a girl has a smokin' hot body "but her face?" The new '07 has nice body lines, until you get to that mug! They should have put the front end they used on the Avalanche. That would be a good looking truck.

Just my thoughts - I had to share smile.gif

:withstupid: Does anyone know if you could put the tahoe/avalanche nose on these trucks?

  3. THE HORSEPOWER ON THE NEW BODY STYLE IS 367.. I SHOULD NOW BECAUSE I JUST BOUGHT MINE A WEEK AND A HALF AGO AND I MUST SAY THAT IT DOES HAVE BALLS.. THE 0 TO 60 IS UNDER 6.5.. FEELS FASTER THAN MY FRIENDS 06 VORTEC MAX.. BUT ONCE I PASS THE BREAK IN PERIOD OF 1000 MILES.. A DATE WITH THE TRACK AND OUR 2 TRUCKS WILL DETERMINE IT ALL..

Wow the new body looks great in black! Can/will the tahoe/avalanche nose be availible on this truck? That would look sweet!

  4. (ZX3) Suspension Package, Ride-Control

    what 'ride control' ?

If I had my camera here I would take a picture of the button on dash near the pass. air bag off key switch looks like a bumpy road on switch, which is to switch from normal to harder

dampening on shocks. Note: this is on my 4 wheel steering truck which ZX3 came standard.

  5. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I just changed the oil and filter at 1200 to Mobile One and there was a lot of fine metal particles (almost like sand) in the drain pan. There was a little metalic goo on the plug which I ve seen before on new vehicles. What do you think about that?? Still a sign of breakin? Normal? Runs strong and fine at this point. Did anyone notice the particles a first oil change?

Great idea to change oil early and switch to Mobil 1, I work on cars and have seen noises go away when using Mobil 1 over other oil's, synthetic or not. Although my 01 5.3 slapped alot

at times, started around 10k miles, sold it at 50k miles, so far my 05 6.0 is ok with 20k miles. Note: I have always used Mobil 1 in both trucks.
