  1. I had that problem and had the dealer fix it under warranty. there is post by someone else in the forums about the same issue. Dealer sucked at fixing it though, lots of wind noise afterwards took many return visits to get the dealer to fix it right.

Same story here. Three trips and another sunroof assembly later, they got it better. It's still not perfect. If you could make them out of aluminum, on CNC you'll sell tons of them. It's my understanding the whole assembly has to be replaced because those arms are not sold by themselves. It's a stupid design and is indicative of why GM is where they are.

  2. I really like these under hood carbon fiber parts. If someone would just make an engine cover to go with everthing, I'd buy it all. I'm not the only one who feels this way, am I? In this application it works because you have the blower. In mine, I'd have these nice covers and, then that crappy looking OEM piece on the engine. I know tooling costs, but....

  3. Griot's Garage and 3M products here. :chevy:

Yeah, I'm getting to be a Griot's snob too. I am still loyal to Mother's Pure Carnuba. I swear it makes the truck go faster. Griot's Clay Bar and Speed Shine is way better than Mother's though. I did wax "her" Corvette with the Griot's Best of Show. We'll see. Her car is white, so it's never as striking as the red truck. The Griot's wash bucket is the bomb though.

  4. Great looking Pup. Frankly I think Black Labs are the best colored version of perhaps the most versatile dog ever. I have two of them. They're good for one laugh a day each. The hip problems are mostly avoidable. Restrict running for the first year and a half and never on concrete or pavement. Also try to keep the dog off glossy floors durring the same period of time. If they can't get/maintain traction that'll cause problems too. Area rugs will usually solve this problem. It goes without saying, you're getting a high energy Pup, I can't say enough for taking them swiming. It wears them out, they love it and, it's low impact which is great for avoiding hip problems.

  5. I have 4k miles and five months of warranty left, I took my truck in last week for just this problem. I also had paint peeling off my cladding. I am told the cladding is taped on, but it's also bolted on too.

  6. Sorry for the delay, I've been bigtime busy lately. The car cover did arrive in a timely manner. The truck needed a good bath before I was going to test fit it. I ended up taking the truck in for warranty work, which is now completed, so hopefully by this weekend I'll have something other than lame excuses.

  7. I learned a lot about car covers in the process. Noah is a material made by the Kimberly Clarke Company. A few vendors make covers out of the stuff. I guess the difference is in how they're cut and sewn together. Anyhow, stay tuned...

  8. I recently accquired a more fuel efficient vehicle (a 1986 Corvette) and plan to use the SSS a lot less until gas prices come down. I have a four car carport, and plan to store the SSS under there for now. I wanted a cover over to keep the dust to a minimum. I decided on getting a Wolf Noah cover because this is what I got for the better half's 77 Covette. In shopping them I found $300 to be about the best price until I found www.coversolutions.com. They had the same cover for $169. I thought this was a pretty darn good deal and I wanted to put it out there. I'll advise further when it arrives.

  9. Oil will continue to rise until the consumers revolt and reduce the amount of fuel they're buying. If you really want it to send a noticable message don't go on vacation this summer. If you do go, take a train, they're amazingly fuel efficient. It's no accident refineries go out for maintenance in the summer. They know you're going be driving or flying somewhere and it's going to require some fuel burn. If we're all such car enthusiasts, we should cancel shows to discourage driving. Think of it as a protest. I took my 6.2 diesel Blazer out of mothballs to run this summer. It gets 20 mpg. The SSS will go out strictly on Sundays and not too far.

  10. Intersting fact about sharks; they cannot circulate water over their gils. If they are not moving forward or sitting a current they cannot breathe. I've seen sharks in the wild sitting on the bottom of channels, in the current "resting". I don't know anything about aquariums, but, you may want to create a place close to the bottom with a current so the shark can rest somewhere.

  11. I guess GM didnt learn their lesson with the failed SSR? The SSR failed initially because everyone said it had no balls, then GM gave it 400hp, which was a huge improvement, but it still flopped in my opinion. I dont think this will fly. ITs a very niche market - Market for someone who wants to tow somethng and go fast, but only wants a two seater that really shouldnt be driven in the winter... Most would opt to keep the family together and have 4x4 or awd like with a TBSS, SSS, or crew cab pickup. if they wanted to go fast, then they would simply buy a corvette.

I think the biggest problem with the SSR was cost. I thought it would be priced like a regular Silverado, but the dealers here were asking Corvette prices for them. Frankly I didn't think it was much of a value. If I could get a deal one, I'd pick it up though. They were rare because that's the way they wanted it. They were built in an old Oldsmobile plant in Lansing. They could have cranked them out in reasonable quantities and made them affordable. Instead they wonder why these "special" vehicles don't sell.

I think Pontiac should be put out to pasture and just replace it with Holden. It's stupid to have two divisions when one is obviously doing everything for the other one. That's a bunch of VP's GM could lay off.

As you can tell I have a love hate relationship with GM. I love their cars, I hate the morons running the place.

  12. Everyone it talking square footage on the floor. Don't forget overhead. If you can get a higher ceiling in the garage, you want it. Storage lifts with sliding jack trays are like $2k. It turns one bay into two. Not to mention, it's nice to get under the vehicle for maintenance.

  13. Ever notice the El Camino went away about the same time the extended cab GM truck came along? It's going to be a tough sell because it's a two seater. I think it's cool just the same. I do think it ought to have a Chevrolet variant, but at the same time they need to get people in the door of the Pontiac dealer too. They need to make one with three pedals too. Right now watching the big three slug it out is like watching Special Olympics wrestling though.

  14. I personally think they play the same shit over and over, just like local radio stations.

That's true of XM. Sirius doesn't do that. That's the reason I yanked the XM module out of my truck and put in the Sirius one.

I hate the Ipod because it seems like I always hear the same songs.

Plus, Sirius just launched an all Rolling Stones channel. How cool is that?

  15. The shaker hood looks goofy for some reason. I can't quite put my finger on it. Otherwise, that's what they ought to look like from the factory.

I especially like the old "Mustang" script on the decklid. I kind of wish they'd start doing scripts on cars again. Remember when every vehicle said what it was right behind the front wheels?

  16. I know everyone is tired of reading about our troops dying. But pulling them out now is not that answer. I joined the Army (11B 10th Mountain) to go and fight and i did it twice...once in Afghanistan and once in Iraq. Everyone who is over their fighting right now signed up, they were not drafted. I lost alot of friends over there in both countries and know that they would not want there deaths to be for nothing...slowly we are taking that country. I am sure i will have a ton of disagreements here..but i hate when people say we should leave when they have not been there and seen the good that we have done first hand. The news shows nothing but the bad. Just my opinion again.

You're damn right. We're on our way to being the next France with all this talk of surrender.

  17. Sounds like your trailer is out of balance. Fish tailing is usually caused by too much weight in the back and not enough tongue weight. Are you backing the truck onto the trailer? Can you adjust the axles back and forth? You may want to put the whole shooting match on a truck scale and make sure you're not overweight. I might also think about helper springs. There's also a sway damper you can buy.
