Yeah yeah... so we have our toy hauler which is amazing but the gas mileage is terrible.. (because its flat front.. blah) the truck has no problem towing it, but the wind resistance is what kills it.. anyway.. before we go out and buy a v-nose trailer now.. to hold like 3 bikes plus the fold up chairs, tool box, leathers, other gear, etc.. (for times when we dont take the toy hauler..) I figured Id ask about gas mileage when pulling a v-nose..... obviously theyre more aerodynamic with the v-nose.. but what are we looking at here?? Thanks all!

Mine usually stays between 175* and 200... even when towing..

thanks for the replies, everyone.. yes we're using the tow/haul button... I mentioned that in the first post.. The 5500lbs is without any of the bikes in it.. we're both concerned about how 3 sportbikes and all our stuff will affect the weight.. (leathers, food, drinks, water, gas, etc..) Ah well.. we're just going to have to be a little more conservative on the spending and save up for gas..

(sorry if this is the wrong section..!) So we just bought a 5500lb, 24' travel trailer/toy hauler for taking our bikes to the track and for camping once in a while on the weekends. We bought it today and trailered it home tonight with the VMax.. (NNBS, 6.0L, 3.73 gears, 2WD) and the gas mileage WAS HORRRRRRRRIBLE.... I usually get 350-400 miles to the tank on the highway (going ~80 mph) and oh man, pulling this thing.. we got between 150-200 miles to the tank.. going 60 mph.. (gauges said 7-8 mpg..) absolutely awful... It makes owning the trailer not even worth it, because to go anywhere, with gas prices now, we're gonna be spending $200 just to GET somewhere..and that wont even take us out of Florida.. is there any sort of torque converter or shift point changes or SOMETHING I can make or do to my truck to make this worthwhile?? As we were driving it home (with the tow/haul button on.. FYI, almost all flat roads here in South Florida..) we were wondering if purchasing the trailer was a mistake.. It's not even worth it if gas alone is going to cost $400 round trip.. Any ideas?? Thanks you guys..

We work out there.. and yeah the kids think im pretty cool.. its awesome. the older teachers hate it.. ehehe as for the PCM.. apparently there isnt a simple PCM swap on the NBS 07s... there are two pieces you need to unhook and send in to be reprogrammed.. theyre under the hood near the battery.. ECM and TCM I believe? I cant be without transportation for the duration of time that it takes to send it in, and back.

The new trucks dont do the PCM swap.. instead you take out the ECM?? and something else .. TCM? and send them in and they program them and send them back...

Well maybe not.. I didnt realize I had to take out the..... ECM and TCM? and send them away... I cant give up transportation right now.. Im a teacher.. I go back to work on Tuesday... I guess I'll keep looking..

well im an impatient person and i dont like waiting.. so i went ahead and contacted bryan from PCMForLess and I filled out the form.. I believe I'll be going with them for the tune for my truck.

I understand how it works.. this isnt my first badass chevy. My truck hauls, I was just freaking out that it wouldnt go past 90, meanwhile the RPMs are screaming.. I'll look into that tuner. Grrrrr...! hehehe he was happy as can be.. he seemed pleased that I was annoyed with him... thanks man... what am i looking at spending here???

Im so disappointed.. I drove across the state today to see my parents... and it was the truck's first big trip... Well... this jamaican or haitian guy in this teensy little civic hatchback WOULDNT LEAVE ME ALONE... tailgating me, pacing me, pulling in front of me.. driving around me in circles.. he kept waving at me to stay in front of him cause I have an X50 (radar) and he wanted to cruise behind me, I dont know.. either way, this went on for MIIILES.. I tried ignoring it.. but it got to the point where I was worried what he would do to the truck.. since.. he was driving a piece of garbage.. I had tried slowing down and almost pulling over to get him away from me.. (glad I had the .45 in the center console..) but he wouldnt let off.. so I went to speed up and take off.. and WTTTTFFFFFFF the truck wouldnt go over 90 MPH???? (Okay like 92..) I could NOT get away from him... This was totally unacceptable.. I FREAKED.. as in panicked.. I seriously couldnt get away from this guy.. I finally pulled over again and he didnt slow down with me this time.. he kept going, thank god... but wtf.... my truck has a governor?? WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING 360+ HP if I cant use it to get away from IDIOTS?!?!?! Come on..... is there any way to disable the governor??? Im so pissed..

Nobody has any thoughts on this??? Ive already put in a call to Chevrolet customer care.. the dealership was unable (or unwilling) to exchange it back for my original radio... (I bought the navigation system when I bought the truck two weeks ago.. they installed the nav yesterday.. I DONT like it...)

Soo.. we tried to play three different DVDs in the new navigation system. (stock GM one) YES we were in Park.. and we kept getting Disc Read Error..... but the manual says that this truck will play DVDs on the Navigation display... help? How do we get it to work??? Its a total waste of money if its JUST the navigation..

Oh.. and I know DoD isnt really that big of a deal, but I was just wondering how it would affect the sound..

So.. my Silverado has the displacement on demand.... if I added a cut out... (or did anything to the exhaust..) when the displacement on demand was working... (and half the cylinders shut down...) wouldnt the sound of the exhaust change? As in.. wouldnt that sound like crap? The stock exhaust sounds alright.. but its pretty quiet, so you don't even hear the difference in the engine... but.. a cutout, which normally would sound badass.. would sound like garbage.. no? I thought of this last night, and wanted to post it. Ideas?
