  1. LOL

    Just saw this

"talk about great quotes by a great guy...

It's a mazda YOU ARE IN RICELAND!!!

"It's probably better that you got a mazda, after all HPTuners wont have support for that so at least you know you can't Blow It Up!!" Allballz57"

I saw E85 Brad at Porkies last Saturday. haha

Congrats on the Payoff. I am sure you will find something to spend it on.

  2. thats some funny shit !! Rich.. i wish i could have .. really did not do much, hung out with my boy before heading out for the school year.. so i need to know when the last night is before they shut it down there for the year and i will go down to newton with ya..

Yea Newton would be a better drive. I think I will go to Cedar Falls in a couple weeks. Need a 1/4 mile time.

  3. Wish some of you boys would have went. Not many street cars there on Friday. It gave me a chance to at least get a baseline on my tune. Ran low 8.2s all night with 2100-2200 DA. Need to work on my tune a little more but getting close.

First run I asked the guy "Do I need to wear a helmut". He says.. "haha. No"

Second run, the guy says.. Uh, looks like you need a helmut.

But most the night I got my butt kicked running 5-6 second race cars. Funny feeling launching and seeing a car two lengths ahead of you with the front wheels 16" off the ground and getting out MPH at the end by 60 mph !

  4. don't the higher stalls hurt your MPG? I like my TBTC but when I get a built trans I plan to go with a PI 2800 stall triple disc. What are your goals?

Yes, around town you will lose MPG. On the highway they are pretty much the same since the TC locks up at low throttle and speed. But city mileage will suffer.

I dont believe yank makes a 2800 stall you can probably have one custom made...but IMO for the price hands down Yank is the best TC out there..PI is bad ass but cost almost twice as much as a Yank..I believe my 2600 was $525 shipped or so...and on the Yank site i believe they sell TBTC converters as well

    http://www.converter.cc/

I agree on Yank. Have had Yanks and Vig in this truck (TBSS) and I prefer the Yank. Its tighter at the same stall speed and Yank does a better job at rating real stall speed that Vig.

My experience with price is Yank is not really cheaper though.

SSSmoke Eater As far as picking the stall speed you should pick one that comes in 500 to 750 RPM lower than where your torque curve hits. Thats really all you are trying to do is get into the power band.

  5. yes Rich some trips down to strip are in need of planning, go down and kick some Hemi A$$ !!! sorry C-hris got to give ya some ribbing... e-85 boy goes, i make sure iam coverted over to my veggie oil set up..

I think I can get some of the guys from Browns to go. The service manager was talking about getting his Camaro SS out but we ran out of track time last year.

  6. Rich, as for Newton, i HATE that track. its so far off it isnt funny. but at least everyone is on the same sloow ass timer! :) when we goin?

We can go to Eddyville if you would rather?

I have not been to Newton to even spectate. The timing system sucks?

I would say in a couple weeks. The next two weekends are mod weekends for me. First weekend I will do headers and high flow cats and they cam and springs the following weekend. They are a challenge on these things so gonna spread it out over two :) Then I need some track time.

Can we take e85 Brad along too. Oh wait, how many feet can you run before you hit 4500 RPM? LOL

  7. My only comment for those considering this that want the rubber button option.

They offer a couple different button styles. One is squared and the other rounded.

I originally went for square but kept knocking them out. They sent me rounded ones to replace them at no charge. Since then (8 months) I have only knocked one buttton out and that was at the TBSS nationals when I had to opportunity to make 32 passes down the 1320. Was pulling on the wheel and standing on the gas !!

So I would go for rounded or you will be fighting the same issue I had.
