  1. Hello all SSSr's

I have a 2007 silverado classic (non-ss), and I need/want a tonneau cover, but I don't have the $$ that a hard one costs. I have seen flush mount tonneaus for other makes and models, and I think it would be the best way to go.

I also want to incorportae the "street scene"(or similar) spoiler on the cover, along with the some molding to make it look good. But, i use my truck. I ride bikes and haul them everywhere, I build cars on the side and I need to be able to remove the cover for some uses.

So i was looking around and realized.."duh! why not design and make my own?"

I want to use sheet metal, with stake hole cut outs(so i can mount a tray over the tonneau when in place) I would like to custom fit the spoiler into it also. and i want it to be easily removable just 2 or 3 three people at most to remove. I then want to coat in fiberglass, or urethane, and color match it to my truck for a good custom look.

    Now my question...

    Has anyone tried this?

Does anyone know anyone who makes something like I am looking for?

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help me with this.

I'll take ideas, pics, crude drawings, web sites, phone #'s anything.

BTW if anyone here is building a 3rd gen camaro please check out www.thirdgen.org possibly the most useful f-body forum out there. I have stuff for sale, and I could use the money.

    Thanks guys and gals,

    John
