Thanks for the quick responses guys. I'm glad to be a member.

Jason -- I noticed you live in Indy, If you get your exhaust and would like a better place to install it other than lying on your back, let me know I have access to the shop I work at which has 2 drive on lifts, one being a laser alignment machine, 2 two post lifts, welder, torches, air tools,etc... Its also heated which I personally like  It would have to be an after hours thing (no charge)so having a key to the shop comes in handy :jester: I guess being the owners son has some advantages :idiot: but not usually.

    Just an offer

Thanks..I'll keep that in mind! Perfect timing!! My brother-n-law leased a shop for about two years and just closed it, so I've got no where to do any work.

  2. First and foremost I have to thank Mr. P for starting this thread for us pathetic newbies

My name is Matt, I live in Central Illinois(just outside Champaign/Urbana). I just purchased a Black 2003 silverado SS w/32,000 miles ,clean carfax, one owner  ... Only problem is its in Minnesota :sigh: Luckily the dealer will deliver it here for me and should be enroute this upcoming week :tumbleweed: I get the feeling its gonna be a long week,.......but well worth the wait. Just out of curiousity is $22,200 delivered a decent price?

I think it's a good price. I know that as long as looked for one, people always get at least book value for them, especially when they're mint. You'll be happy with your purchase..I've only had mine for about two weeks and I think it's a blast, mine is a one owner as well and is completely stock...I tinted the windows and next is the exhaust...still undecided on what yet also.

As for the rims, I must agree...OEM's will look much better than what's on it! Congrats and enjoy the truck!

  3. Im going to see Dane live finally. Hes going to be in Indy at Conseco Fieldhouse Nov. 9th. Staying at the Hampton INN in downtown close to Conseco. If anyone from the area is gonna be around, me and the girl wanna go out for drinks after and I figured Id ask whats cool, and if anyone is interested. Ill be in the truck and all, but im sure it'll be parked at the hotel, I dont want to be in any shape to drive, just walk..lol

My wife and I are fans. I live about 30 minutes from Conseco, I think I'll look into getting tickets. We were talking about going to Broad Ripple (north of downtown) to see Frank Caliendo at the end of this month, so I'll probably do one or the other. There are some pretty killer bars by Conseco, so you'll have a good time no matter what. I'm sure I'll have to have the wife drive home that night.

  4. yeah i knew he wouldn't stick around long. when pros come back from retirement they don't last long.(jordan, foreman, clemens) plus the natural is 44 fighting guys in their prime. i was happy when he took out silva that was awesome!

Exactly.. He's 44 and beat Silva. I love watchin him fight, but I'd rather see him retire while he's great and not be like so many athlete's that refuse to hang it up when they just don't have it anymore.

  5. thanks mr jason

I noticed you listed your exhaust mod on your SS in your signature.. How do you like the 2" Magnaflow?? I haven't made up my mind on Magnaflow or Flowmaster.. Anyone have any recommendations/opinions?

  6. Don't worry about it Brad, you don't need a radar detector now, the cops will never be able to catch you :jester:

Welcome to the site coltsblueSS

Thanks! Killer site..I thought my truck was one of those you buy and don't need to modify. After seeing what you guys have done..I'm already getting the itch to dump some cash into this thing!

  7. I thought I would start a member introduction thread, since the site owner has changed the site policies and now requires new forum logins to post ten replies before starting a thread these new folks don't get the chance to use this sub-forum and say hello.

So if you are a new SilveradoSS.com member please feel welcome to reply and introduce yourself here, and we'll see what we can do to help get your post count high enough so you can start your own forum threads.

    Mr. P. :)

Thanks for the Intro forum. I just bought a 2004 Silverado SS. It's arrival blue with 29k. I've been into the SS's since they came out in '03. I've always liked the idea of an AWD performance truck. I love speed..that's why I currently own an '03 Suzuki GSX-R which I decided to sell so I would keep myself out of trouble. The ironic thing is that I owned it for three years and often did speeds of 100+ mph and never got a ticket. Anyway, I was test driving the SS and didn't get five miles from the dealership and got nailed on the interstate doing 96 in a 55. The cop was cool and gave me a ticket for 20 over instead of a wreckless driving and towing the truck.

As impressive as these trucks are, I'm not surprised there is a site for them. I had an '04 Silverado LS same color with the factory 20's and ever since sold it I said if I could find an 4WD that same color with the chrome 20's I'd buy it. Sure enough I'm going past a Chevy dealership and there she was. Living in Indy AWD will come in handy in the winter, not to mention that thing sticks to the pavement like my bike. This thing is bad ass..it's totally factory, and in mint condition, it just has a roll up tonneau cover which I plan to replace with a fiber glass cover eventually. I plan to post some pics of it soon.

If you guys have any good sites you recommend for after-market accessories for these trucks...let me know.

    Thanks again.
