  1. Only one on this site...there are several 11 sec radix trucks over on performancetrucks.net

I am a believer in the radix and the ease of the install over the vortech kit, which although successful with chase04, its reliability leaves a little to be desired. Lets face it, anyone who has pushed the vortech beyond out of the box capabilities has met engine trouble. This is what I have seen and an opinion, I may be wrong. Holty is mid 12's without a cam. With his new MP122 and a cam (dont recall if he has one or not) he can certainly reach the 11's.

Here's the thing, realize this new member has NO experience and wants NO maintenance/low maintenance. I dont think he is up to the task of troubleshooting and upgrading and messing with vortechs or prochargers. The best bet is for this kid to get the radix, slap it on with some headers, tranny work, and a 2.9"-3.0" pulley and smile ear to ear with low 13's high 12's. Even let him get the 90mm J-tube and 90mm TB. All of this can be installed for him and be turn key, daily driven. Once dialed in, he can then add a cam down the road. All of this should blow $12k and put a F$%^ing grin from ear to ear on his face.

Also, with everyone suggesting the STS turbo, those are also very tempermental and require some automotive knowledge. I personally would not go with one. As far as underhood turbos go, the same thing applies, except that just abotu all underhood turbo manufacturers recommend to not tow with one because underhood temps sky rocket.

Give the kid a radix, and if its not enough a year or two down the road, he gets some experience under his belt, then he can switch to whatever he really wants. Baby steps guys. Also, you dont want to put an 11sec truck in the hands of someone who has never experienced that kind of power/speed.

Thank you for this advice :yellow_loser:

Your right, I have never experienced this kind of power before. Though, I am not looking for a 11 sec truck.

I have no reason for that kind of power. I just want to crank a little more fun out of my truck. Droping my

time down some more would be hella fun and dont forget about those faster starts ;D

would you please giving me a little info on a radix.

(the noobey run down that is :tumbleweed: )

  2. I really do not mean to be vag

then again... I am a total NOOB!!!!

    and no nothing about cars.

Not to metion, i have never really researchd anything car related.

I may research computers like crazy and know just about everything

when them, cars/trucks are a total differnet animal :yellow_loser:

I guess I should refrase my question:

Considering my truck (totally stock) is in the 15sec range. I would like to lower that time

as much as I can. I am not a auto guy so.. I am going to want to go with something

that I can learn from and not require huge matence and etc.

I see videos such as: (go the the 59sec mark and fallowing sceen)

    And videos such as:

In each of those videos, I notice that these trucks are about 13sec 1/4 mile trucks.

And yes I slivate over their burn outs and raw power.

I would really like to make my truck on pare with them.

    So.. my exact question is...

    1) how much are we talking for something like this

    2) what EXACT parts should I buy

    3) where should I buy the parts from.

Then even for more fun

    4) what would be a step above this and what would it cost?

  3. I deffenlty understand that the more money you spend, the more mods you buy, the faster you will go. ^_^

I would honestly just like to spend about $6000 on my truck

Though, can go to up to $9-12,000 if it really is worth it.

There would have to be huge jump in proformance for me to do something like that.

I would just like a good break down of what parts for X amount will get me X amount of proformance.

  4. Hi guys,

This is my first post here and I really dont know my cars/trucks.

Though I really hope to have pretty good understanding one day.

When I was fifteen I was luckey enough to get a brand new blue SS Silverado 2004. I am now 19 years old

and love this tuck to death. I have a very good job and have saved enough money to finally move farward

and look at my options on how I want to rev this bad boy up.

    My QUESTION is:

-Considering I have a 2004 SS Silverado AWD with 43000+ miles and I want to make this thing fly out fly

what would you suggest that I should use to upgrade this monster and make it flat out FLY?

-Also... is there anway you could give me a few choices between different levels of performance?

With a little break down of each?
