  1. That all "bolt on" kit is a POS... if you ever see a full size vehicle with one in person you'll know why... the door, nor the points it mounts too were never intended to support that kind of weight moving in that direction. I've seen warped door sills, paint rubbed off of edges around gaps, water leaking from seals that no longer align, and all manner of problems arising from these so called "bolt on" kits.

To do a TRUE vertical door conversion it takes fabrication and some engineering... the cost of which, if done properly, could easily exceed $3000 on a truck.

Either way its a tired fad... jumped on like clear tail lights or spinners... any **** thinks they NEED to do this mod to fit into a custom crowd. Being custom has never been about doing what everyone else does.

You really wanna stand out at a show? Do suicide doors... thats fast becoming a lost artform especially on late model show trucks b/c so many idiots feel compelled to do vert. doors. : :(

  2. Hey everyone. I am a new SS owner and was wondering which superchargers seem to work the best for these trucks. Please post your opinions

Use the search button. If you look through older posts related to this subject, you will see many people rely on the Radix fom Magnacharger. It is the most complete kit you will find, probably the most daily driver friendly, and can put you into the 500s in hp and tq. I have yet to get one for my Silverado, but many on here have them with nothing but good things to say about it.

  3. I prefer up-facing, that's what I have, and in my experiences the bass sounds tighter, just not as "boomy", when compared to a down-fire. I don't have experience with a front fire, but before you switch boxes, try filling your box with poly-fil stuffing and see if that makes any difference. I don't know if it will help in your case, since your box is already pretty big, but bass has always sounded better to me with a stuffed box.

  4. I am a big fan of two-tone with a contrasting stripe to break up the two colors. I also like flames and pearls are nice too. As far as the colors, that is just personal taste. How about pearl white over black with a red or purple or yellow (or something) stripe along the body line? Don't think I've seen that before. Paint jobs can get expensive so just take your time and make sure it's something that you really like. :D

  5. That sh!t sucks dude. Happened to my 05 Silverado about six months after I bought it. Just wish I had seen the pos doing it so I could have given them a piece of my mind. Look on the bright side: if all goes good with your insurance(hopefully it will), you will have a brand-new paintjob.

  6. Yeah ive got a set im gonna get put on then im prolly gonna go to autozone and let them clear the code...

Anybody else wanna chime in on the driving issue?

I installed my LTs this past week and drove all around town with open headers trying to find an exhaust shop to weld a couple of flanges to my headpipes to mate to my headers (none of the shops had flanges!). I had the front O2s in but the rear ones unplugged. Aside from SES light and being loud as f*ck there are no driving issues that I could feel. Then again I was keeping her in the low RPMs to keep it from getting to loud and catching the cop's attention. No issues though, so you should be fine.
