  1. Thats not good news to hear a vendor say that...Thats the LAST thing I want to hear about a product on my truck. However, there are lots of kits out there with tens of thousands of miles without failure. We do push the limits on these trucks.

Did anyone ask this gentleman to see what size pulley he is running also? I know its not fuel related, but certainly could be causing detonation. Also, is the intercooler flowing properly as well?

Problem here is tech support all of the way around, that's why I'm asking here. Magna tech support pointing to fueling problems with Magna-volt booster and/or fuel pump replacement. Have now tried both with pull and put technique, but lacking real diagnostic aids to move further. Am familiar with stock setups on GM and like, but seeing these mods and the minor butchery involved has thrown me for somewhat of a loop. It doesn't help that the only paperwork I've been working off of turns out to be for a different vintage setup (fuel filter and pressure regulator for instance) and the fact I didn't realize GM changed the fueling system so significantly from '03-'04. The input thus far has been great, and once I'm dug out of the snow we'll get back to work on this thing. Keep the info/ideas coming and I'll keep checking.

  2. Fuel filter should inline on the frame rail underneath the truck. Looks like a little 8oz pop can...silver

Seriously can't find filter - 2 manufactured lines right from tank, up firewall to back of manifold (unless its relocated behind s/c & I haven't stumbled onto it yet.) Couldn't believe it, but can't find it.

  3. yup, they nailed it. do you have a factory fuel filter? if so, change it. that could be the culprit, somtimes they get clogged. fuel pressure should be near 60 psi at all times, its not vaccum controled. the maggie shouldve come with a pressure regulator on the fuel rail, set at 58 psi.

When I get to the truck, will check FPR. No fuel filter I can find, fuel system hacked and whacked and deadheaded by magna install. Any further info is appreciated. Keep it coming please.

  4. 2004 SS with magnacharger. Bought the truck at dealer auction with system already installed. Under load/acceleration truck misses and or detonates like mad. Called magnacharger tech, they suggested replace grey fuel pump control unit, tried that with no success. Then they suggested try new fuel pump, still does it. Had engine light when problem started showed lean b1, lean b2, but now light off, still same problem. Fuel pressure is 48psi at idle on in dash gauge, 41-2 under load. Feel like I'm getting nowhere now. Any help?
