  1. I never could get it out. I ended up putting the old filter back in place and putting everything back together. I at least got the fluid changed. I don't see why it was designed like that. The torx bolts are impossible to get to because of the drive shaft. It was getting hung up on my exhaust where it runs from the divers side over to the passengers side. If it was only a inch and a half back farther I think it would have dropped right out. I used to think I could work on this truck but after 4 hours changing plugs a few months back and 5 hours under it yesterday I think I'm taking it somewhere from now on. :nonod:

  2. Hey guys. I know that I should have done more research on this but I didn't and now I need to fix it so I can drive to work tomorrow. I am in the process of doing a tranny filter and fluid change. I have taken all the bolts out and now see that it won't just come out. What ever the bracket and arm on the driver side keeps it from just coming down. How do I get around this? I have unbolted the tranny mount and jacked up the transfer case but it still won't come out. Any help would be appreciated since I have to get it going for tomorrow. Btw the truck is a 03 completely stock. Thanks a bunch......Zac :(

  3. I did my lights a lil dif i used the same stuff but i mixed clear and base as one and the more coats i put on it the darker it gets thats how i do it

I know it's been a while since the last post but it's also been a while since I've been on here. I think the guys at Chevy High Performance did this on a 3rd gen Camaro's taillights. It looked really good when they did it. I may try this when we get moved to our new house. Thanks for the write up.

  4. First off let me tell you what's going on. I ordered the PAC converter and added a Crunch Ground Pounder 1500w class D amp, custom box and 1 10" Power Acoustik PW3 sub. It was supposed to be a 700 RMS and 2k w Peak sub. Yeah well it was fried after 4 days. I was just blaming it on a defect but a buddy of mine was telling me that it was because of the Bose system running at .5 Ohm. That is the first time I had heard that and I really don't believe it. That is pretty much what i'm trying to find out before I order another sub and kill another one. I did search for a answer on this but it didn't find anything. I just couldn't see it running at .5 a Ohm stable like he says but he does know about audio stuff. Also while i'm asking this any one had any experience with Crunch subs? I'm thinking of going with the sub that is designed for my amp. Lol. Prob should have in the first place but I just found it at a reasonable price. Thanks a bunch.......Zac

  5. Put me down for a fitted hat as well as a shirt or two. I found a site that you can upload images for tshirts but don't have any cool pics like the red SS with the lightning in the link a few post up. If you guys have some pics would you mind sending some to me or linking them in a pm or something? I would rather something with a red SS since mine is red but any SS stuff will do. I googled and yahooed SS silverado under pictures but got didn't get anything cool. Thanks...

  6. Add me to the list if someone gets them made. I agree with slammedbowtie. I would like them better if they were silveradoss.com shirts. It would be awesome if you could get them with a red, blue, black, or silver SS on the back of the shirt. That way you could represent which one you have. :D I'm sure that would cost more but I would be willing to pay more for it.

  7. Yeah- copper was crazy for a while. My dad is a contractor- We've never had anyone break into any of the houses... but I have heard of that happening to people around here. It's sad. Diesel is 4.11 a gallon by me. Kinda making it hard to run a business!!!!!

People are still stealing copper. I'm a CNC machinist so we see a lot of copper. Our shavings check each week is over 2k not to mention our solid stuff. No one has tried to steal our stuff yet but we do have security systems on all our buildings. The company that we take our scrap to has to deal with idiots all the time trying to break in. The guy who owns it said that someone tries to break in at least once every two weeks if not every week. Seems to me like we get around 2.40 per pound for solid copper so if you were lucky and actually got 20 pounds of copper out of a house you would only be getting 50 bucks. Yeah that seems like a bright idea. These rtards need to go get a job at Wendys and make their meth money legally. Lol.

  8. I don't mean to thread jack but it will give you a bump. Another member on this site has one for sale and i'm thinking about upgrading from my single disk boss to the 6 disk. Will this just plug in or will I need a adapter or anything? Also like the ezclone said will it retain the wheel controls? Thanks and i'm sorry ezclone....

  9. front spindle kit part# 2508,rear shackles part#6400

everything came out to about $270 and i did the install by my self :smash:

Looks great man! I've been looking at beltech for a few days now thinking about doing a 2/2 drop myself. All you got was the spindles and rear shackles? You don't have to change shocks or anything else? I was looking at the beltch kit stylin concepts has with the torsion keys and shackles and Beltech shocks for 390 but this sounds like a better deal. It looks bad ass dropped but is the ride quality affected or does it ride better now?

  10. I finished painting my bowtie last night but I won't have pics till later or maybe Monday. I did takes some pics of my upper grill gloss black and the lower one still gray for comparison. I think the gloss looks good but it prob wouldn't under a billet grill. I really don't like the looks of a billet grill on red trucks. They look way better on black trucks so i'm going to go this route. Neways hope this helps you make a decision. Btw I got my paint at lowes. I can't remember the brand but it was made for almost all plastic parts and the primer is clear so it was perfect for me.

  11. Probably not. By the same token, I don't think you'd want it high gloss either. Maybe some sort of a matte finish paint is available. Would somebody with more knowledge of paint like to chime in?

I used gloss black on mine and I think it looks good. I just did it the other day so I haven't had the time to take the lower one out yet to paint it. I'll get a picture while the lower one is still gray tomorrow. I have my bowtie soaking in oven cleaner right now for the 3rd time. Hopefully this will get the last bit off and I won't have to do this again. Thanks a bunch for the idea. I was going to go with the overlay that Hank got but then I saw this and liked the idea of it being more durable.

  12. Ok I understand you now. My truck is kinda like that then. It's a good daily driver that i'm not afraid to drive.

I have some new info about my seats. I let my wife drive my truck today since she just had to go to work which is 3 miles from our house and I had to drive 34 miles, so she calls me this morning and tells me that the seat heater worked all the way to her work and she sat in the parking lot to see if they would stay on and they did. This is not making any sense. What would be the difference. She didn't move my seat or change drivers or anything she said. Just got in and drove. When we first drove the truck she brought it to me and she had the seat heater on the whole way down to my work which is like I said about 15 miles. I even had them on that night. This is really pissing me off. I got under it the other day and moved the wires around but it didn't change anything then all of a sudden it stays on? WTF? I'm gonna end up taking it to the dealer I guess. :(

  13. Damn. Glad I don't have that much wrong with my truck. I got 120k as well but the inside is spotless and only have a few small imperfections on the outside. Have you tried wacking off your steering shaft? Lol. I've read that on here but haven't got a chance to try it out. Wack you shaft off. :D .I hear that clicking noise as well. Does your lumbar support move? Will your seat heater stay on if you play with any of the buttons on the side of the seat? Just wondering. :D

  14. +1 on the towel idea. I cut a piece of shelving board, put towel around, to help distribute the weight, and that allowed me to really cinch it down for a secure seat for my boy. We did the rear facing until he was big enough and then switched him around. We always like the middle because it is a little more security for those side impacts.

I just used a real mexican blanket that my wifes sister got us when she was in Mexico. It's pretty tough and I can't see using it for anything else so why not. :D As Big O said I put her in the middle because of saftey first but also because she can actually see the cows and horses now instead of missing them as we drive by them. :chevy:

  15. Thanks again for making me feel at home guys. I'm hoping to keep mine a DD at least untill I get it paid off. Lol. If I can hold out that long then I'll get another DD and start some serious mods.

Riddler, I'm digging that hockey stripe. I have been thinking about getting a black one for mine for quite some time now. It's on my list but I really need to quite spending money on this truck and work on my 79 Camaro. :nonod:

  16. Zac it sounds like you have a wiring harness issue with the drivers seat :chevy:

Well I would have to guess that it's gonna cost a bunch to figure that out huh? Anyone know how much on average GM dealers charge per hour? I hate electrical problems. Such a pain in the ass! :sigh:
