Nice Truck.. good year too lol. You need a lid bro. Looks good though
and by lid you mean????

To sum it up the 8 year/80,000 mile warranty on the cats is a Federal mandate, it is in your owners manual.
yes it is, it also covers the PCM

You've got to be kiddin'............. Is this really true? I obviously had no idea...............I guess I'll be buggin' the shop manager at the stealership tomorrow.......................

I did a search, and I am still undecided on what to do. I have a passenger side cat that is acting up, and was wondering if I should replace both with a stock-type converter, or go with high-flows.......I'm pretty sure (from other posts on this subject) that it really wouldn't benefit me right now to go with the high-flows considering my truck is stock with the exception of a CAI and true dual......Any more input on this? Should I just get something more along the lines of "stockers" or?? I was even contemplating "gutting" the existing ones, and having my rear O2 sensors "tuned-out"........I'm just trying to figure out the more cost efficient way for me to do this right now........Thanks for any help/input..........
the factory converters have a 8 year 80,000 mile warrenty, take it to the pros!

I was wandering if you guys knew how to turn off the rear o2 sensors thru hptuners??? I have simulators but just changed headers and have not read my codes to see what all its throwing... I want to figure out how to do this just incase the simulators are not working properly
what do u have for simulators, i need a set for my truck, im going long tubes with no cats. and where did u get them, thanks a million dude.

Nice lookin' truck.
Our front ends look very familiar
I like how you did your tails, do you have anyother pics of them? Close ups? Thanks.
i dont have an upclose pic but i got them off of ebay heres a link
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-06-CHEVY...sspagenameZWDVW
after putting them on, there not exactly what i wanted, im going to smoke the factory tails and third brake lamp, i think that will look better than what it looks like now.

Great lookin truck I have the same intake did u have any problems with it fittng together
no i did not have any fitment issues with the intake and i like the way looks. i take it you had a bit of trouble?
-
its an 04, has flowmaster dual exhaust, SLP cai, SLP Tune, beltech 2/2 drop, blacked out grills and bowtie, black housing taillights.

your truck does not have a PCV valve, its an orifus, not an actuall valve. not nessary to replace and if you have a valve inplace if this orifus, then you could protentionally cause excessive oil consumption. valve shoud just be cleaned out with a few squirts of carb cleaner.

if anyone wants to know its actually called an asparator. and is indeed the major part of the auto function of your climate control system.
-
theres a bunch of dinks, i got one email that said WE DONT MAKE HEADERS FOR THAT TRUCK ONLY FOR TBSS. not the additude i was looking for from a professional company
-
Please Please do yourself a favor and don't get shorty's. They produce little to no performance gains. They just make your ride sound better, thats all.
If I were you, and you are serious about getting some headers fabbed, I would contact Kooks Custom Headers. They custom make headers for a variety of different applications and since they already mass produce headers for the SSR, custom making a set for your SSS will be a snap for them.
Teddy
just email'd them, thanks for the heads up ill tune you into what they want for a set.

i thought of having a fab shop cut the egr tube off and weld in a plug smooth it out so it dosend look likes its ever been there but thats more money and if there was a company that made they way i wanted that i missed then id get them. but i have done quite a but of research on them but havent found what im looking for. i like the hooker super comps but then again theres that egr hook up. if o dont end up going long tubes then ill be getting the slp shortys
-
im looking to do some long tubes but without cats. has anyone done it. and im really looking for some good undercarrage pix of the exhaust system. thanks
-
rolling circumfrence of the tires is critical and will over a short period of time start screwing with your transfercase. and that my friend is an expensive fix. as for the front diff not as critical but deff not god for it. i have repaired alot of awd + 4wd noises buy selling the customer 4 new tires
-
GM is only coverting the 03-04 trucks with this condition, and they do have to program the milage and hours, aslong as the cluster itself, just to be safe i would take the tune out for service.
-
im lookin into long tubes myself but i cant seem to find a company that makes them without the egr hook up on the passenger side header. i think it looks tacky if you dont have provisions for it in the truck. Im just lookin for just headers cause im going catless. and custom making my own pipes from the headers to the exsisting exhaust i have. looks good man hope it sound killer when in the loud pedal!

id rather push my chevy than drive a toyoya... ha ha
