  1. Yeah Im leaning more to the 5.3 I found one in austin the guy is selling. Your right the interior is pretty cool I like the gauges on those trucks. I saw sum on carid.com for a 05 silly but didn't see one with a trans temp gauged

  2. hey guys im thinking of getting my son a rst truck as a graduation gift. can anyone chime in on which one is better, faster. ive seen the 4.8 with 5 speed and the 5.3 auto. then they have the john moss edition and the chip foose. i have found a couple for around 14,000 with the 4.8, and only 1 with the 5.3

  3. i changed boths gaskets just to make sure. it dosent overheat and i havent checked the oil level. i does smoke when i drive it. i just had this motor rebuilt 1 week before the head gasket blew. i know for sure it had a sleeve in one of the cylinder before i took it to the machine shop.

  4. What's up guys. My blower motor stopped working it cold air comes out of vents when I'm driving but I come to a stop an nothing. I did alittle research an came up that it might be the blower resistor module can anyone let me know where that's at also is there a test I can do to make that is the prob. Thanx

  5. well guys i didnt know where to start so i replaced the fuel pump, fuel pressure reg., map sensor, the cat. i thought i would start and run good. well it didnt. it only starts if i pump the gas pedal and it idles good for about 1 min then stumbles and dies. if i disconnect the vacuum line that goes to the pvc it idles high but stays on so i bought a new one and same shit. after i replaced everything i cleared the codes and gave the scanner back. but the cel did come back on. anyone have any other sugestions thanx

  6. to be honest with you guys i have no idea how many miles are on it. i bought it used about a year ago its showing about 186,000 miles. when we first got it we did a full tune up from the airfilter to the fuel filter, wires plugs oil change, thermastat, coolant. the only reason i changed out the injector was because it was leaking onto the exhaust manifold. i was told that 40psi is not enough fuel pressure that its the pump. just seeing those plugs had me worried it might be a internal thing. changed the plugs and still it dosent idle unles im constatly on the gas and no power at all..

  7. my sons 96 s10 with a 2.2 is running like crap. i just replaced a leaking fuel injector 2 days ago. well yesterday it breaks down on the highway it just started running rough and shuts down. when we go to start it the motors turning over you can hear like back fire coming out of the throttle body it will finally start but wont idle the more gas you give it the more it starts poping out of the throttle body. i replaced the map sensor its still doing the same thing. i checked the fuel pressure and im getting 40psi with key on. im not sure what else to check it almost feels like my truck when the cats got clogged. i did run a scanner on it the codes that came up are p0106,p0107,p0140,p1133

  8. well i took the truck to a trans shop. good news is its not the trans. they hooked up the scanner to it had sum codes about its not firing in a couple of cylinders. they didnt want to mess with it anymore because there a trans shop not a engine shop. while it was there they changed out the maf and same prob. driving more and more it feels like its not getting enough fuel. one of the techs at the shop said thats why its not shifting correctly the comp. dosent know when to shift because its not getting enough fuel.

  9. from twenty mph it would shift at 5000 but shift into the next gear and so on. but today its seemed like it was stuck in first gear until i let off then it started to shift into other gear. i just took it out for a drive to make sure and at 60mph rpms at2k ill floor it and rpms go to5k and speed stays at 60 its like the motor is just reving up. now driving normal its taking alot longer for it to shift through all the gears and the shifts are alot harder.

  10. whats going on guys? i have a 05 sss awd its pretty much stock i have a wheatley tune,cai. the problem im having just started today. i pedal all the way down so i could get on the highway from the access road i was going about 30mph and it wouldnt shift out of gear until i let off. if i drive it slowly it shifts fine but once i get on it takes longer than normal to shift the rpms are about 5000 so i let off. it has about 80,000 miles on it

  11. im trying to install a kenwood dnx5140 in my 05 sss can anyone tell me how to intall the bypass wiring harness the one i have is axxess gmos-04 and it has some rca's on it where do those connect to and also the steering wheel adt. im showing i have a 24 pin connector but the dam instructions say to pin on a7 but there is no wire there
