  1. Well I didn't know Shaun ever left., but with the new job I got I've been working crazy hours. Nights, weekends, and what not. I traded the SSS in for a super nice crew cab sierra for the wife. Then bought my old 00' silverado back from my brother. So now that things have leveled off at work and I'm planning quite a few SSS conversions for the new truck and getting back in the forums. What's new in Manhappyness? You get the truck done where you wanted it?

  2. well just because its a 1/2ton doesn't mean that's what its rated for. 3/4t and 1t trucks have payload rating well over the 3/4t or 1t name plate. if you put 1t of rocks in the truck, its not even gonna flinch. i've personally put over 3k in the bed of my truck and it was about an inch lower in the rear than the front. these are trucks so if you use it for what it is every once in awhile it's not gonna hurt it. use it and wash her when your done. thumb.gif gary

  3. since you are using the same size rims on all four corners. there is no combination that is within a 1/4" of the same overall height. the 315/35-24 are about 32.6" tall and 285/40-24 is almost 33" tall and 285/35-24 is only 31.8" tall. i think most guys on here running 24's run a tire close to a 305/35-22. hope this helps.

yup those are the ones I've been eyeing. not sure if i want to go back to 22's or go with 20's. I guess that will ultimately decide which one's I go with. the last set of 22" SSS reps I had with 305's seemed to really effect braking and acceleration compared to the avalache 17's I'm rolling on now :yellow_loser: Not sure where the stock 20's and the tbss 22's compare weight wise. I think either way I want to go back to a 305 tire. just looks mean with that wide ass tire under it :ughdance:

  5. So over the last few weeks I've been having a set of 20x8.5 budnik fontana 6's powder coated comp grey. my parents are coming up to visit in a few weeks and were going to bring them with. well I was trying to sleep in saturday morning when my dad called. I hit ignore and 5 min later he called again making me believe it was important. so he tells me they got home just after 10pm friday night and woke up saturday morning around 7 to find the screend in back porch wide open. so they went through both my parents harleys, left the gps and sirius radio, stole my wheels but left the matching center caps. banghead.gif went through my pops truck as well but didn't take anything. so aside from dealing with insurance i need to figure out what direction i want to go as far as new wheels. I still want to go with the comp grey powder coating but unsure what wheels to go with now. kinda of thinking about stock 20's. thoughts??

  6. What do you mean by composite bed? All GM fleetside trucks have steel beds. The only 1500 trucks with the composite beds were the stepsides

to answer the OPs questions your cover will fit 99-07 classic body style 1500 fleetside trucks

Actually he is right there was a composite fleetside bed option. Post #25 has some pics of it.
