  1. Ok I'm a tech by trade and have a trans line that's leaking. Not really a big deal, but I can't find a replacement line anywhere. Went to the dealer and was told the line comes from the trans up to the passenger side of the radiator. Wrong. The one on my truck definitely comes to the driver's side of the radiator. (oh and it's the lower hose btw) I also went to NAPA and the line is not to be found. All I'm looking for is a stock replacement line. Can anyone help me find one or both sometime soon?

  2. Hi my name is Sam and I , unfortunately, have to sell my SSS. It's just gotten financially tough, so I gotta let her go. It's black and has 90,600 miles on it. I'm just asking for the payoff amount of the loan, which is $15,000. My screen name is 03TNSSS if you want to see pictures of the truck. Thanks for reading and please let me know if you're interested. If you would like to talk to me about it, my number is (865) 661-7207. Thanks again.

  3. Well crap!!!! I thought it was an onstar speaker as well and it's been buzzing for 3 years... I had them disconnect it when I took it in for service... I guess now I may have the answer to my AC question I posted in an earlier thread... Can anyone tell me if this would cause my AC to either blow ALL cold if set on 89 or below and only blow hot when it's on 90?

    Thanks,

    JDA

Oh yeah man! That fan pulls interior air in on a sensor that gives the climate control a reading for the automatic AC control. So that's most defenitely your problem with that.

  4. i got 2 sets one set are take offs of a new vechicle for 55.00 shipped or a used set with undetermined miles for 45.00 shipped pm me if interested!!! these are stock 5.3 injectors

Yeah man that sounds great! the new ones are a little more appealing to me. How do you want to arrange payment?

  5. theres no need to tune for a tranny kit or a corvette servo is there?

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that since the trans is electronically controlled, you have to tune for a shift kit/ servos. Mainly bc if you dont the computer is going to notice the faster hydraulics and cut back (regulate) voltage. Giving you your old slush feeling again in about 100 miles or less.

  6. All SSSs have the LQ9.........the LQ4 has different pistons and a lower compression ratio. :chevy:

Thanks man. I've been wondering that forever! Haha! Are there casting numbers that specify which is which? And where are they?

  7. Ok guys I feel really dumb for not knowing this, but what in the world is the difference between a LQ4 and a LQ9? I have a 2003 SSS. What motor is this? Are all of the SSS engines the same "LQ-" classification? :dunno: Just lookin for some knowledge. Thanks.

  8. Thanks alot guys! I appreciate the tips! As for now I don't have much done. Just a set of 13" Magnaflows, a K&N drop in filter, and a Hypertech programmer (BOO!) But when I do something, I plan on all or nothing! Plus I just love the sound of a big cam! lol! Oh yeah and I did think about a converter/ shift kit & servos. Do you really think I'll need new rockers to run that cam?

  9. I'm thinking about putting a cam in my truck pretty soon, and just figured I'd get some opinions first. :help: My friend had the same cam in a 05 GTO so idk if it would be good for me or not. It is a HPE (Horsepower Engineering) C-CAM, 236/238 duration, .601/.605 at .050 lift, 112 LSA. He says he bought a cam kit that came with 7.400 pushrods by Trickflow, triple valve springs with keepers and retainers by Patriot Performance, a new crank pulley/ bolt/ and belt. With a set of LT headers and a CAI would this setup be possible?! Help!

  10. Next Wednesday I have an appointment with an advisor at UTI. I was just wondering if any of you have gone to this school or know anybody that has. Just trying to find out if it's worth the money.

I went to NTI (NASCAR Technical Institute). It's in Mooresville, NC. Actually, I learned a whole lot! As far as the cost, it's a little expensive but the knowledge was worth it for me. If you are planning on attending I would say go for it! But remember it is only worth what you put into it. So don't just plan on 'passing is good enough', becuase it's not. ....study a bunch.....It will pay off.
