  1. I'm still looking for 24s for my AWD SS. I've got Belltech spindles up front, with the torsion bars slightly cranked and Hotchkis lowering leafs in back, which dropped the back around 4 +a little (just enough to even the beast out!). Since I would prefer not rubbing the tires, which size is best for most? The 24 inch rims I am looking at will have a positive +30 to +40 offset and will be 10 inches wide. I've seen people running 305/40/24 or 295/40/24 or 285/40/24. Which would be the best for me? Thanks for the help!

  2. It needs to go to the fuel pump signal wire so that the magnavolt is only running when the pump is on. It should be a gray wire but I am not 100% on that. It should also be vac/boost refrenced so that it only overdrives the fuel pump at 4+psi

    Great, thanks for your help!

  3. I found a great deal on a Magnavolt boost referenced voltage module and my vortech Si trim and 408 are thirsty! The unit is intended for a 2007-2010 CK truck and SUV-- so will this work with my application, a 2004 SSS? Also, after reading the magnuson instructions on their website, the wiring diagram for the magnavolt unit shows a wire going to the I/C pump. or the intercooler pump (provided by Magnuson for their sc kits). So for my vortech sc and aftercooled app, where would this wire go instead?? This may be a dumb question, but I am making sure of things before my purchase. Thanks!

  4. what about the edelbrock proflow xt mani? would that be better or worse? i really like the way it looks has anyone tried it yet?

I am also looking for more information about this intake?? What is needed to run it?

So far what I found was:

The manifold itself (#7139/#71393) is ~$400

You need a compatible fuel rail kit (#3629) which is $150

And you can either buy a new TB (#3869/#38693) or get an adaptor (2737) to fit your ls1 TB for $15

What else (do our fuel injectors fit, and do we need a fuel pressure regulator?), if there is anything else and how does this compare to the Vic Jr. especially for a S/C application?

  5. the truck to edelbrock will be the easiest as you wont have to change your water pump or accesories to match the car style intake. with the edelbrock you will need an elbow that will allow you to palce your TB in the same place as the stock manifold. Edelbrock can provide it. you will also need to tab it and run a few vacuum barbs for your vacuum lines, but that is easy and you can route the vacuum lines to anywhere you want. check out chases vic jr manifold install, he documented it well.

the 7 cylinder meltdown has a few theories as to why it happens, 1. coolent flow and 2. intake design, there really is no conclusive evidence as to what causes it. even ls1 with car intakemanifolds melt down #7

Thanks- your response is helpful. Although this is hard to estimate, what is your best guess of power gains that I could expect from the truck-->edelbrock swap with my build?

  6. These intake threads keep me up way too late.. I'm in the process of building a 408 stroker and I will be using my Vortech si-trim blower. Besides relocating the IAT sensor to the boosted side, upgrading to dual Walbro fuel pumps, etc...I want to make sure to avoid the infamous 7th cylinder failure. My build also includes ls6 ported heads, dished piston, and the cam is a comp cam with specs XR269HR...216/220 .525/.532.

My question is- is it worth replacing the stock truck manifold to a Vic Jr. or the Ls6 for my build? I'm not going the FAST route bc of the lack of affordability. I found the thread on ls1truck for the ls6 intake swap, and the amount of work for the swap, although not bad, makes me want to try something easier. Would the Vic. Jr. intake add quality #s to my build and add insurance to prevent lean cylinder failure? Lastly, exactly what other mods/parts do I need to make the truck to edelbrock intake swap complete?

  7. The season is coming to an end and the lakers and cavs are both looking strong! The lakers proved they could win without Kobe, but the playoffs are another story. It seems like Kobe's return was great at first, and then he had a slump. But 20 points last night in the second quarter even had Kobe dancing on the sidelines. He looks to be in playoff form, but the Cavs do too. Now that some time has elapsed, and the trade deadline came to an end with some key players traded, what do you guys think? Who is the better team now? I think the Magic are going to give the Cavs some trouble, but maybe not enough trouble. I just hope the lakers bring it when playoffs come since we know the nuggets will and dallas will too!

  8. i donno most guys dont like adding graphics to there trucks but you could have something different, post some pics of what you think will looks good and we could go from there

I think this wagon has a cool paint scheme. What I like about it is that the ghost flames are subtle but catchy. I think with the arrival blue some ghosty flames with a black base and then lightly covered with the blue could look sweet! I'm not set on this, I was just throwing an idea out there to see what people thought. I am a fan of simple but some additions make simple look better!

  9. All of these polls about the most unique color, etc. got me thinking about my arrival blue ss. My plan is to do some minor shaving. I've already shaved the tailgate, and next on the list are the gay antennas on the roof, and then to make the mirrors monochromatic. What do you guys think would add a sick look to the arrival blue? I've seen racing stripes, and pinstripes, but what about some flames, or another graphic? What do you guys think would add-to the arrival blue color?

  10. Those are sold. They were Intros, but thank you!

ummm... considering that website says the wheels are available in CHROME OR SILVER, I'm gonna say its a site to stay away from. Bonspeed wheels are polished billet aluminum. Can't chrome plate the wheels because they are a two piece wheel that has the hoops heated to expand and the centers are seated in, then cooled, welded, and polished out. The chrome would crack at the seams quick.

A Bonspeed 22" wheel is more like $800/per wheel.

That sounds more like what I was reading from other sites- thanks for the heads up though!

  11. apples and oranges , did you happen to price both out first ? there is a big difference in the two.

bonspeeds are better in every catergory , workmanship , quality, weight and looks . the only thing they loose in , is affordability.

id love to be rolling some bonspeed staggered wheels .

I didn't price them out first, but I do like the Bonspeeds a lot more. I looked them up and I'm not sure if I trust some of the sites selling them. For ex, this site http://viprims.com/WheelDetail2.asp?Link=2924 has them at $408 a piece. What do you think of this site?

  12. geez, quite a price difference between the two!

I would go Bonspeed, hands down.

Something about a cast wheel chrome plated that just rubs me the wrong way. They weigh a ton as well.

What wheels do you have? Those looks really nice :D

  13. Bonspeeds if you have the cash, i also like the Palisades (which i also had but sold them before i could put them on)

but i also like the Boss 313's

The Palisades are sweet but I do like the Intense 6. Your SS looks sweet!

look up the dropstars....the ds02..ull like em

For sure, the ds02 are sweet!
