Thats a sharp looking V-Max! Insurance sure does come in handy huh? I remember when my brand new F350 got smashed in a parking lot by some drunk driver and it would have cost over $4,000 to fix, but it only cost me $250!
Nice!! Ya the cost to fix it was about 3800 dollars and I only paid 50 dollars for a gas deposit on a rental car lol!

Yeah dude after I looked back at how my post read it sounded condescending, my apologies, hopefully you can find a set and I'm glad you're truck is back on the road
No worries bro. I didn't think you were trying to be haughty, I just wanted to clarify that I do know the difference lol. I am hoping to replace the whole front clip soon with the 06' model clip. Then maybe the v-max badges will be a little more justified haha

The stock 2004-05 "VHO" door badges can still be had last time I checked. I just sold a set on here like a month ago. Took me a few days to get them though...
I know ur truck would look better with the 2006 style front bumper lower valance too. It is molded in the dark graphite color- Just like the upper panel looks now on your truck.
Those earlier 2003-2004 models have that strange light grey lower color from the factory. I never did understand that one....
-Jon in TX.
I love the 06 bumper and I agree 100% it would look way better with it. I honestly hate the 04 bumper it kills me every time I see an 05 or 06 with the graphite bumper
Looks great but your truck is a VHO being an 04. Badging it as a V-Max isn't correct just FYI but I doubt most others will know that.
I know that it isn't a vmax but I had no idea that they were even going to rebadge it... Like I said I was sad to see them go because they are hard to come by these days. According to the guys from the shop the dealership couldn't get them so I guess that's as far as they took the search and just ordered the v-max badges knowing that it is just the newer version of the VHO.

Looks great! Let's see a before pic!
I will post some pics throwback pics of when I first got it, and a few pics of the damage as well when I get a chance!
The rear looks awesome, looks like it has a roll pan.
You are right! Roll pan, and Recon LED's
-
Looks awesome! But you should have had them take off the side molding. It would clean the truck up tremendously.
Thanks for all the compliments guys! lol I know its weird but I'm probably the only person on this forum that likes the side moldings, not sure why I do but oh well!
As far as the rims go, they are still in production.... customwheelsdirect.com still makes them, in fact they have even updated the center caps for them which to me means they aren't going to stop making them for a little while. The new wheel I got has the newer center cap so I had to buy 3 matching ones.
here is the link if you want to check em out.

So about 3 weeks ago my beloved VHO was in an accident. There was damage to the whole passenger side of the truck, head lamp, bumper and grille oh and a bent rim. As mad as I was I just had to remember this is the reason why we pay for insurance lol. With that said, I just got my baby back from the shop yesterday and just thought I would share a picture of the fresh paint job! I must say I love the new look although I was sad to see my old VHO emblems go

Maybe its time for a post in the how to section? lol That would be awesome the lights look great
-
well over here in socal my friend got pulled over for having blue HID'S (wtf)
lol thats funny a lot of the newer vehicles are coming standard with the blue hid's
-
-
Chris (fast4popper) hooked me up with some sick Putco (sp?) bulbs that are LED that look amazing, they seriously look like HID's...check their website.
Got any pics of the lights in the day time?
-
1st thing i do when i start my truck is turn off the DRL'S.....
i actually think it looks pretty clean without the lights!
-
fleabay ...lol... just search red led and the bulb number cant remember what the number is forgot ...
Those are sick! I might try the red ones out. I have a set of blue led's in my reverse lights that came with the Recons so I will probably try those first

4157 LL
The other bulbs will burn out faster
Do you have to use some kind of resistors or do you have bulbs that have them built in?
-
thannks for all the input guys! I think im gonna go with some type of LED any idea of what kind i would need? Sick do you have any pics of your lights?
-
Hello everyone I found some old blue bulbs sitting in my center console the other day and just threw them in my DRL's for fun.....since the bulbs are not very bright, or actually a true blue they dont look that great. This sparked my interest though and was wondering if anyone is running any blue or white bulbs similar to that of an HID or Xenon? I have looked around and havent seemed to come up with anything but I think it would look cool if we were able to run a nice blue or white color instead of the stock amber! So please feel free to share any ideas, or anything other than the stock DRLs! Thanks

Reminds me of the 454 SS for some reason. lol but sweet truck!!
-
looks nice man! gives me a pretty good idea...like the tint on the tails! I plan on getting rid of the fender flares, sucks that they wore lines into the paint..some are pretty deep..my 32+mm offset doesnt look good with them on..hangs over to much
Sorry Im not the greatest with PS but I figured you would like to get a general idea of what it would look like! Sucks about the fender flares, but actually I think that you could pull of the look with your truck also I just tinted the tails for fun but I cant wait to see what the truck will look like when its actually done!

I dont know if thats the look you were going for haha but It works for a general idea?

The bowtie on my grill isnt in the best of shape. Colors starting to come off the background.
I looked on ebay but theres tons of them. Has anyone else put something else on there then OEM? I see they make stickers to cover it but thats kinda not the way I want to go is it? The truck is black so if the bowtie was Im sure it would look good. What years would work for the 03?
Ideas?
Thanks.
I bought a billet bow tie on ebay I love it goes great with black trucks. If you are going the black route here is a link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-04-2005-2006-CHEVY-SILVERADO-BLACK-BOWTIE-EMBLEM-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem1e5dbb20c1QQitemZ130421563585QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
Also you might look in to shopman1 custom SS bow ties he does good work! hope this helps good luck!

Thanks for your a help guys I will definitely check out NORCALSS. Oh and one more thing lol if i decide to go with the 3/4 is this gonna sacrifice even more ride quality? The 22's ride rough enough as it is
-
No I do not, I bought mine from stylintrucks.com on sale, and you can search by vehicle. IF I could do it over I would get my stuff from NORCALSS.
NORCALSS better prices?
It is the same as his 3/4 mcgaughys. Spindles in the front, shackles and hangers in back. If you are 2wd you will have to buy springs for the front to get 3 inches....good luck
Since I am running 22s will this make a difference in the drop... I aready have 2" shackles in the back
-
KC do you happen to have the part numbers for the drop that you have? Or even angry greg I like the drop you have also
-
haha this thread was a very great source of entertainment for the past few days thanks!

Nice! haha I kind of figured they didn't do much searching for it, honestly I think they drove across the street from their shop to the GM dealer here in town and just swiped a couple of v-max badges because it is what they had in stock
If I wasn't so limited on cash I would definitely go for it! It's way too close to Christmas for me to splurge though
