  1. So me and my buddy went to the track tonight. This was both our best runs and my best trap speed as well. He is on the left with a stock ls1 GTO and I'm on the right.

Not bad. What mods are done to the truck?

  2. I am in the same boat as far as not being an expert at all on spec'ing cam shafts. Its hard to believe someone at Texas Speed said that cam was ok. If so he needs kicked in the dick. Either way it really depends on the setup you currently have (heads, exhaust, intake, converter, ect) and future plans as they are all factors. IMHO.

My specs are 228,232,588,601 @ 115 with 1 7/8 primary - 3" collector headers into 3" exhaust, factory heads, factory intake, 3600 converter

I agree with you about kicking him in the dick, cause someone needs to be kicked there if I don't get this truck figured out, our setups are kind of similar, ive got Texas speed heads and a 3200 stal

  3. Does it smell rich when idling? Does it idle/hard to start? Possible bad tune or injectors not tuned in properly. My afr runs 11.5 to 11.7 under boost with my d1.

Yeah you can smell it, every once in a while it'll be hard to start

228R cam with a D1? Doesnt seem like a good cam choice for your choice in FI

Not saying this is your problem....

I was going to change it when I had everything else done, but texas speed told me the cam would be fine

  4. yeah thats pretty rich but not horrible needs to be mid 11's or so. how does it feel when in boost ? strong? what kinda fuel do you run ?

It's pretty strong as soon as the boost kicks in, then once it starts backfiring it feels like its falling on its face and loses a bit of power, right now I've got 101 in it

  5. you need to give mike "zippy" a call. he can get that procharger up to speed real quick with a good tune . he hit my tune on the head the first time. i would stay out of boost till you figure it out, not worth the risks. you have a wideband on there? if so whats it reading?

Giving zippy a call is prolly my best bet, When I'm cruising it stays around 14.3-15 and at WOT 10.8 or so, it doesn't go any lower then that

  6. Beautiful truck. It might be my favorite Victory Red SSS on here.

Did you get the charger on??? Any times on her?

I did get the charger on, I'm having some problems with backfiring through the exhaust, I haven't figured out whats making it do it, I think it's all in the tune, the guy I had tune it didn't seem like he has ever tuned a truck with a charger

  7. I just got a D1 installed along with prc heads cant remember the exact heads we put on, i've got id1000 70# injectors changed the fuel pump as well, cam is a 228R, its got ARH 1 7/8 with corsa sport exhaust, its all done on a 6.0, my problem is its backfiring in my exhaust, it feels like its happening when i give it just the right amount of gas and it also happens while i'm in boost, the lowest i've seen my fuel pressure go is 55psi, the most boost i've seen is around 11#, its got tr6 plugs in it right now with taylor 409 wires, and i have been thinking of changed the plugs and wires to see if that will help, i had it put on the dyno so my tuner could tune it, it ran like crap, i'm not sure if its in the tune or not, i've got a feelilng that my tuner may not be so good with boosted applications
