  1. I can't believe how well they are holding their values now. I sold my 2004 black SS w/22's for $16K two years ago and have been missing it, so looking around the site, I guess I should have held onto it afterall.

I found a black 2004 SSS with 108k for sale down in Clinton, IA last week.

chrome 22" SSS replicas, running boards, window visors, bug gaurd and a bed cover.. they were asking around $15k... looked clean but I paid that for mine with 79k.

I snagged the flyer for it but I found it online. http://www.motortren.../250518024/113/

Good luck with the search - if I hadn't put in so much to mine, I'd sell it - then be back in your shoes looking for another!

  2. 2004 Chevrolet Silverado SS. I am the second owner of this truck. It was originally purchased in August 2004 and I bought it in April 2005 with 8,500 miles, it currently has 75,000 miles. I am a very meticulous owner, washed, changed fluids and put 93 Octane in it religiously. This truck comes very well equipped with the following options plus my add ons:

    6.0L V8, 345 stock HP

    All wheel drive

    AEM cold air intake

    Power/heated leather seats

    Cruise, power everything

    Auto dimming mirrors

    Tinted Windows

    Remote Starter

    Linex type bedliner

    22” Verde Rims/tires

Comes with winter Cadillac Escallade rims/tires for winter

Baer cross drilled/slotted rotors on front

It truly is a great truck, is in excellent condition and I’m going to miss it, but I’ve had it long enough and don’t need a truck anymore. Feel free to call or email with any questions. Pictures wouldnt load, you can find one at craigslist posting 1692596885. I'm looking to get $16,000

  3. I had a slight coolant leak coming out near my water pump, so I had it replaced. Turns out it was just a gasket and the pump is fine, but since the mechanic went that far into it, I had a new one put in anyway. The truck has 73,000 miles and I don't know the common life expantency of these pumps, but it should go atleast another 30kmiles. If anyone is interested, PM or call me, i'm looking to get $80 plus shipping costs for it.

    Thanks,

  4. so, i've just discovered that my front differential is acting up, it makes a sound like I have a bad wheel bearing when I'm on the gas and it goes away when I let off the gas. Bad, but still driveable. Bottom line is I really dont feel like fixing it, so i'm seeing if anyone is interested in buying for $14,500 as-is. It currently has about 74K miles, and cadillac escalade rims on it for the winter. I will add the 22's in the picture for another $1,500 (looks like the pic wont post, email me for pix at [email protected]). I'm the second owner of this truck, I bought it in 05 and it's been great, but like i said, i just dont feel like fixing something chevy should have gotten right in the first place. Let me know if any interest and I can give more details. Zach 518-505-2438 (upstate NY)

  5. I'm getting a slight bearing wear out noise in my front differential. I dont know if I want to fix or just sell the thing. I love the truck, but hate chevy's make everything cheap mentality. Anyway, is your front differential for sale? If I have to buy new, I may be trading in for toyota. Please let me know if willing to part it and ship to upstate ny. thanks Zach 518-505-2438

  6. I just checked this link because I just started hearing a noise in my front differential (04 SS). It's not very loud if i'm not on the gas at all, but once i put a slight load on it, even just to maintain speed in town, it sounds like a wheel bearing wearing out. Is this common for these trucks? Any idea how much of a bill i'm looking at if I bring straight into chevy dealer? Anyone interested in buying my truck before I do the repairs? I'll take $15K as she's sitting.

  7. Hey Guys,

I have an 04 SS with approx 70,000 miles and it just started developing a slight knocking in the exhuast, which appears to be coming from the driver side Cat converter. It was quiet and seldom at first, now it's frequent and louder, sounds like someone's lightly tapping a hammer from the inside of the exhaust. Has anyone else had this problem?

  8. I had this problem with mine around the same mileage. I believe I ended up having to get a new fuel pump and some electrical harnesses. I think the harness shorted out the fuel pump, which caused the stalls. Didn't seem too bad at first, then started stalling as I came off the highways, so, shutting down going 60 around corners, makes it tough to steer when you lose power steering. I can go back and figure out exactly what was replaced if you need.

  9. Hey guys, I'm a new member and was just reading this topic. I'm not sure if you have enough signed up for the package rates, but I needed to get new rotors and brakes for mine. I would love to do a Z06 brake upgrade. I havent seen the final price though, is it under $1,500 to have all rotors/calipers/brackets/and anything else i'm missing replaced? If so, count me in. I'm not sure if it matters, but I have 22" rims and also plan on doing a 2/3 drop while I have the truck in the garage for repairs. Thanks

  10. As a matter of fact I have all the pics from doing it last week and was planning to do a write up on it at some point. Since you need it, I will try to sit down tonight when I get home from work and bust it out for you.

    Edit: BTW Welcome!

That's awesome Rob. Thanks. After reading the posts yesterday, I parked my truck so I don't cause any additional damage. I'm just trying to figure out what other parts I need to order. I also have some oil and trans lines leaking and the dealership said I have something going on with front left tire and my front brakes and rotors are shot. This was all surprising as this is my daily driver and rides like a cadillac. I'm debating how much of an overhaul I should do on this thing. I kinda want to put bigger brakes on it and now may not be a bad time to lower it a little bit, so the 22's fit better.

  11. I'm having the same problem Eezy. Someone noticed my right rear wobbling last week as I was driving down road (04 SS,AWD). It wasnt shaking the steering, but I could see it through the mirror. I brought mine to dealership and they said rear axle assembly needs to be replaced. They also gave a laundry list of other things, totaling to $2,600, so that's when I joined this site to try and figure this out myself. You guys are very helpful here, it's great to see that. I ok with working on motorcycles and dirtbikes, but not much experience with trucks. Does anyone have a how-to guide for replacing the rear axle?
