    trying to decide whether to rebuild my 229k front dif or buy a newer used front dif w/90k for $800...or just buy a new one for $$$$ :/

      First thing I would do is look into having it rebuilt by a very reputable shop. I think that as long as the case is in good shape the rest can be replaced. Mine cost $1,100 to rebuild. (But it didn't have that many miles on it).
