When do you draw the line and move on to a newer truck? I still love the SS but she is really starting to show her age (12 y/o).

I was to the point where my maintenance costs were approaching that of a payment on a newer truck. Plus the downtime involved. I figured it was smarter financially for me at the time. I still miss my SS but realistically was never going to be able to get a full resto done to make it last here in WI.

truxedo truxport bed cover says won't fit over spray on over-the-rail bed liners... why? does anyone here recommend a good tonneau cover?

spoke with truxedo and they said the front seal is why they don't recommend it with spray on over the rail bed liners. but with the truxport, the seal can be applied to the liner itself rather than the bed, so it should be ok... the seal doesn't stick to the spray on liner.

I've had the Acadia for maybe a week now and it's been one thing after the next. Dropped it off at the stealership on my way to the airport today. Hope to go home with something different when I get back. I've read problems with oil consumption on the 5.3?

Stealership quoted 'anywhere around $2500' for a rebuild, u-joints on the drive shaft, and new front seal/bearing of the transfer case. trying to find a reputable shop with time and no bs

did you bust a seal and run it dry? my front driveshaft has a bad u-joint that has worn the front seal causing it to leak all over

Just completed a 4,000+ mile road trip in the SS. Truck ran beautiful the entire time, no issues but he $1,300 in fuel really hurt.

yep left front caliper seized/repalced, ac compressor seized/replaced, and right axle worn/replaced. it's been an expensive year but hey I'll have AC again..
