  1. that seal is called the front pinion seal. if it isnt put in correctly or with the proper seal installer, it has the possibilty of still leaking. what helps alot though is putting silicon on the splines of the yoke and making sure you have the right bearing preload. hopes this helps buddy. good luck

and im not sure of the gm part number of that installer, but if you look you could probably find it

  2. Ive been debating on these two rims for a week now, im not sure which ones i like more. i have an 01 ecsb with a 4/7 drop. its pewter with black bumpers and mirror caps with 5% tint so black is defiantly the way to go. theyre going to be 20s. one rim is 20x8.5 with a 18mm offset and the other is 20x9 with a 15mm offset please help me and let me know what yall think. you can even post pics of what you've found. THANKS!

  3. Hey guys. I have a 5.3 with a 228/230 .571 .573 cam, 2600 stall(soon to be a 3200) and 3.73s and then a couple more small bolt ons with a tune. I'm trying to get an intake manifold from an ly5 5.3. Right now I have 862 heads but i have a pair of 241 heads in my garage. My cam wants a higher compression, I think like 10.5:1... So, what I'm asking is, what needs to be done to the 241s to make them work on my motor and get a good compression ratio?

  4. thats WAAAAAAAAYYYYY to big for a 5.3, especially with that amount of miles. the bore isnt big enough on a 5.3 to handle a cam of that mass with stock motor and heads....

shortys are also a waste of time...

do you already have the cam ordered?

i agree with art on this one, the 220r cam is much better for a 5.3 ive seen people with a 5.3 go NO BIGGER than 224/226.... ur truck is gonna lag like a mofo with that high of a duration cam

The cam might be big, but it doesn't seem too outrageous. And as far as lagging goes, its only bad off the line to about 30, more then likely because of the stall speed on my stock converter. I have an ACC 3200 on the way right now. But at freeway speeds, this truck takes off!! Even from a 35 roll, it pulls extremely hard. Oh, and i took y'all advice, I didn't get shorties, I went with longtubes. I will soon post a video on here so you can see what the truck can do. Shayne.

  5. Hey guys, I have a 5.3 with 130,000miles on it. Im wondering if i should rebuild my motor before i cam it. The cam im looking at isnt too big. its Comp's 222/224. i heard that a cam might put stress on the lower end of the motor. This is my daily driver and i really dont want a blown motor here soon. Thanks, Shayne
