  1. JC03SS (Jason), do you use the same weight fluids in both your differentials, or run the different weights that our manual recomends? I saw they have both recomended weights for front and rear diffs, but I do not know the specifics on the lube. Ive been contemplating switching over to Amsoil fluids completely (I have no complaints about stock synthetic though, but agree Mobil 1 gets dirty in 1000 miles). I am due for major service before April 1st due to condensation build up from storing it.
  2. Sorry to hear this, I hope things take a turn for the bettter and soon. I am lucky where my family has been going to the GM dealership for over 60 years. You think they would take care of their own who have worked for them (in ways they wouldn't help a normal customer), but I remember one member who use to be on the site and got screwed by Chevy when GM went downhill. On a different note, I hope your truck is doing well and getting ready to make some great runs!
  3. ^^^Thats the plan here. Been looking at Z06's and Grand Sports since last summer but selling the truck is not an option, the forgeign vehicle can go Also g/l Chase I hope you find a buyer as passionate about that truck as you were.
  4. Can't wait to see it, I wonder if the other member still has his SS QC clone (this was around 2008 when I first joined, been a lurker since August 2005).
  5. That is also what I have read and heard. Exactly! Now the question is did this guy tow with it? Ive been looking for a 2nd SS 2wd and had an 07 and DEI 06 with similar milage but lower price, 07 GM service manager owned. I will be calling this guy.
  6. Why are you selling? How long have you owned (also how many owners)?
  7. I think its as easy as a new computer like CHP said. However if it were me, I wouln't mess around and go hire your lawyer immediately. That should be number 1 because you technically might have had possesion of stolen material which makes you guilty. Everyone can debate wether it was a mistake, but the law says one thing and mistakes usually don't get by the law if your caught. Go lawyer up but do not allow anyone to know you will be countersuing besides your lawyer. ^^^Ditto.
  8. I am interested, have the money right now but will not know until April 1st if I want one. If my truck fits in my garage without needing the roll pan, I will pass. If my truck doe not fit and I need the roll pan you have a customer. I personally like the bumper look best and provides most safety, but if need be I will use the roll pan to make the truck fit.
  9. Exactly, you do not want that jun on your paint at any cost including not driving it, will eat your paint right off like stated. My plastic bracket behind the glas that holds it to the Mirror housing was broken so I had to purchase a whole entire new mirror instead of just the glass and that listed price was around $700ish. I got a deal from a member on here so I lucked out with the mirror.
  10. I am going to replace the batteries in both remotes, that shouldn't have any problems right? Just switch the batteries for the handheld security remote before I even replace the truck battery (is the plan).
  11. I am glad you got the Silverado SS font, I am interested as well but need to see pictures. Im also in the middle of moving so things are hectic for me.
  12. Wow, this site is changing quick. I wish him luck with the sale and new projects.
  13. Exactly, anything more is just This is truely sad, I thought at first swap the rims and its good, but now its not even an SS? Vehicles may be racing him and making our trucks look like turds
  14. Holy Thats where you went wrong, you never speak of Silveradoss.com
  15. When can I buy one? Or is their a waiting list? Synyster_SS, TampaVMax, SS Blu 24- I have heard the same thing, quality has gone down but they are still a great battery. I remember a time about 2-4 years ago when it seemed a lot of people were having trouble with Optima's which has me leaning toward the AC Delco as I really like to it keep it GMPP or OEM. Fireman, JC03SS, 1SkSS, Aldofashow- Thank you guys for the input, it seems the red top is the one I will choose if I go Optima. And Fireman, it seems we both have similar driving seasons (no winter driving) and similar weather due to region, so your input is very appreciated. I may have to seriously flip a coin on this. KevinH- I am looking at houses in Bradenton and Lakeland Ranch. If I move down I will throw a big get together. I will have to PM you some address' I am looking at. Synyster_SS- Due you happen to have any part numbers? I believe their was a 5 year and 7 year rated battery? If you have both let me know please, I may add PPI speakers and amp but no subs, so a little extra juice could always help.
  16. Thank you guys, my stock battery lasted from the factory (June 2003) until 2010 so I have nothing bad to say about AC Delco. I do have a trickle charger, but I usually just pull the truck out of the garage and let her warm up completely and roll it back in so the juices get flowing 3-6 times a week during winter. Please keep the feedback coming, thank you in advance
  17. So my question to the members is what would you choose for your next power source, an Optima (the non deep cycle battery) or the AC Delco Pro series 5-7 year rated battery? I am stock, no stereo only a security system. Also the truck has sat for a long time. Are their any pre-cautions I need to take to make sure the security system does not go haywhire on me with the new battery? I am not smart electronically nor mechanically. Please chime in with your experience with the AC Delco Pro series or Optima battery and would you buy it again?
  18. Its all in your owners manual under the VIN code "N." I would help but my truck is in storage. I do recomend keeping the front and rear diffs on the correct stock weight, this is just my opinion though. I flush with all dealership synthetic fluids except motor oil as that is what has been in my truck since its delivery.
  19. ^^^I remember him saying he was moving onto bigger and better things. Its just a damn shame to see this guy selling it already imo.
  20. They might bring back Dogg for Demolition!! And Jesse and me to the list please, I can show you some good ones if we get hit saturday night with a foot (only looking like 6 inches of money falling from the sky when I was in the hospital earlier at 6pm).
  21. I saw this on the news, and dude i was laughing my a$$ off, I love this plow truck driver! Reminds me of my boss but he would not make comments, just do and not say. I also do snow removal and if people do not move their cars, it is their problem simply put especially when they had how many days of warning? I cannot wait to see what happens Saturday night as Boston is going to be in some serious jelly, especially Lowell and Dracut as their getting more snow than Boston is.
  22. Plasti-crap strikes again within 2 days. As always to each their own.
  23. The dB series by Corsa was never for the SS, it may say it is but it is not. The reps at Corsa will confirm it. If you look at the Corsa page, it will show a Silverado SS on both Touring and Sport pages. However when you pull down the dB series it shows a non super sport silverado p/u with the 5.3 engine. Someone else had the same exact problem with the cheap dB Corsa system. You pay for what you get, but the dB series is not for the LQ9 engine only the Touring and Sport models. I have chronic headache and migraine issues so Corsa is the only way i can go, the stock system even gives me migraines when I am on the highway for 30+ minutes. Corsa gave me a bunch of info a year or so ago but I do not remember the exact details.
  24. Welcome to the site from a grade A Masshole! I will be down in Fairfield to do custom prototype model trains, that near you?
  25. Time for a Valentine1 if their allowed in your state. No ticket ever again. If i did not drive my truck to my dumb buddies house every night, I would still be in the 33-38,000 mile zone, instead Im at 64k. Now I take miles much more serious. I won't even drive it to my new house in April, that is AAA's job to piggyback it lol.
