  1. Definitely not in Gasoline Alley, trust me on that.......

He should be able to get the same answers here, we really don't turn anyone away seeing how there are many people on our boards who have experience with all different walks of life from GM.

Get in touch with Charlie Wheatley, I know he has done the FAST 102 swap on his LQ4, and may be able to answer your questions.....

Thats right he was telling me he had a FAST 102. After all he did end up tuning my pcm for the FAST thanks man.

  2. Talk to silverado_ss_04. He has the FAST 102 on his 6.0l. He has the 90mm tb though.

What all do you have done to the truck to justify putting the 102 on the 5.3L?

As far as your question goes about the regulator, if you do run a different FPR, run it after the rails. Meaning that the fuel will flow through the rails and injectors then to the FPR back to the tank. I will tell you that you can easily have just as much money wrapped up in the fuel system as the intake costs, so the setup will depend on how much money you want to spend. You can run a single inlet to one rail, then a crossover to the other, then the fpr on the outlet of the rail back to the tank. Or you can run a single upgraded feed line with a Y feeding both rails, then the other end of the rails to each inlet of the FPR, then the return line back to the tank etc...... There are tons of ways, but looks, function, and money all play in how you want to do it.

cool thanks man, i will hit him up.

Right now the truck only has exhaust and cai, I would cam, but I am going to boost eventually so that cam may not be good for boost.

hmmm i'll have to see what I decide to do. Why do I have to run the fpr after the rails? Is that how it is supposed to be ran?

  3. I recently came back from deployment and I am finally going to install my FAST 102 manifold, 102 TB and FAST fuel rails. My truck is an 01 silverado with a 5.3 with California Emissions. My questions are as follows:

will I need an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator because I am using the FAST fuel rails?

those with FAST fuel rails could you post pics on how you have the fuel lines setup? I am especially concerned with the return line.

    Thanks in advance yall...

  4. Im currently deployed to Afghanistan. Im the driver of a vehicle called an RG-31. When I first got the truck the ABS light stayed on in it, although myself and our mechanics couldnt find anything wrong with the system. So you know what I did? I took out the bulb behind the ABS indicator! Problem solved right? Haha I know it doesnt help your situation, and its not the best route to go, but it worked for me! Just sayin...

lmao....wth hell is an rg-31, is it like an mrap?

  5. I have the 4.10s with a 28 tall tires and can still hit 139 with the converter locked in 3rd gear. and it gets to 139 pretty damn fast

Another truck on here has the 4.10s and the stock size tire, i saw his go 148 but it took a while past 142 or so.

I wouldn't fear the 4.10s at all, but i would hate to have the 3.73s.

with the 4.10s i would expect better city MPG but worse highway. The 4.10s will also be easier on the converter stall if you go with a cam, also get you to your cams sweet spot faster.

    :omg: 139! holy hell lol

  6. current i have a single cab with a 6.0... an im lookn to have good top end n take off... an

drivevability if i drive out of state... what would u recommond...

are you staying automatic? if so i recommend 3.73's. I have an 01 rcsb with 3.73's and it takes off good(i recently bought falken 452's they make a world of a difference when hooking cause they are sticky tires), topend is still good for me.

do you know what gears you have right now?

  7. yesterday i installed a coil spring spacer on the front driver side of my 01 2wd silverado. during the installation my friend and i failed to put the jack on lower control arm to support it. hence, the control arm fell and extended the brake hose and wheel speed sensor "cable". i test drove and it works fine but the abs light came on. Any ideas on what maybe the issue?

    thanks in advance?

  8. Well Checking the truck out today, it appears to be cam related. Wont know for a sure untill I tear into it. At the very least it will get the LS6 heads (ported & polished) Cam and valve train upgrade before going back in. I will probably swap to the LS1 this weekend. I won't be loosing much. Just going from a 364ci to a 346ci (4.00" bore down to a 3.90") both engine stock the LS1 would have 5 more HP and 15lbs lees torque but the LS1 has a TFS cam 216 int./220 exh duration and 0.560 int./0.560 exh. lift w/a LSA of 114 and LS1 valve spring which will make up for that plus the other upside is less weight. its only temporary but gives me time to play with the 6.0. Who knows maybe Santa and my income tax return will bring me a 427 stroker

I do have some F-body performance parts I will be selling to help the budget :fingersx:

how do you like the swap?

  9. Mostly everyone knows me here. I bought my '04 SSS brand new in '03. Since I sold my SSS to a fellow member, I've removed all my pics to post.

    I replaced my '04 SSS with a '10 Tundra with the 5.7

    Here's the story.........

Coming from the mall and saw a black SSS getting off the freeway driving like an @$$. You all know what I'm talking about. Weaving in and out of traffic, tailgating, etc. Well, he gets behind me to make a left turn. We turn left, no biggie. He passes me up still tailgating, blah, blah, blah. We get to a stop light together with no one in front of us and a dark open street with no lights for at least a half mile. I'm thinking this is the perfect time for me to test this truck out as I have always thought the Tundra was faster than my SSS. He's posted up at the crosswalk and I'm sitting a bit back. I'm lined up with his extra cab. I can tell he wants to run. The light turns green we both jam! We both leave at the same time. I really couldn't believe what I saw. I literally left him. He could not catch up and eventually just gave up and moved behind me. After a bit he moved to the other lane and did the usual speeding drive by. I was a bit in shock and happy at the same time. I have always thought my Tundra was faster than my SSS. Before anyone asks, "was he racing?", YES he was! I heard that damn motor almost wanting to explode as I passed him.

My Tundra is bone stock with the exception of adding fog lights and just having the first 5K mile service done. That SSS looked stock as well. It had silver wheels, but otherwise, looked completely stock. It did have some type of exhaust though.

I'm not knocking the SSS, but having owned both, I must say that my Tundra is faster. Maybe he couldn't drive, what ever. Either way I smoked his @$$!

Remember, I used to own a SSS so relax on the stone throwing!!!! :fingersx:

how are those things on topend? i talked to another tundra cat on here, he said you guys have 4.30 gears in the rear.

i am scared of the rcsb tundras lol

  10. well pismo is a long way from so cal about 5 hours . the only tracks in so cal are , irwindale (thurs nights) , fontana speedway , was open this weekend(check ca speedway), and there is famosa up in bakersfield which is probably closet to pismo, check there site.

    thanks man...

  11. im going to be in pismo beach next weekend july23rd-25th, anywho im trying to find out what are some good tracks in so cal and if they will be opened during the weekend...thanks in advance

  12. last night i was at the races and caught a few runs, i beat a two door ram hemi(same mods as me) by like a bumper sweet race there. Before that i ran an '07 crew cab 5.4 f150 with a whipple 3.2, i was really surprised that by the end of the street he only took by about a truck length between us. great night!!

  13. my buddy has was looking up performance packages on slp and he told me that slp did not take the governor on the test vehicle (04 avalanche) because slp says that if you remove the governor the yoke?(where the driveshaft meets the rearend) explodesblink.gif and then the drivesfaft rattles like crazy... seems like fairytales anybody ever had problems?

    thanks in advance....
