I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado SS 6.0 Lt for sale. 64,000 miles, truck runs and drives. $5500 OBO

The truck has been in an accident. I began to replace the frame but due to time and budget constraints I have decided to sell as is.

I have a salvaged title and was going to fix it myself so I begin tearing down to change the frame. I removed the bed and disassembled the front end. I have to move soon and I don't have the time or money to complete the job. This is a really good truck and it's a SS, Limited number of SS were made.

    2003 Chevrolet Silverado SS

    Base price: $39,995

    Engine: 6.0-liter V-8, 345 hp

    Transmission/driveline: Four-speed electronic automatic, full-time all-wheel drive

    Wheelbase: 143.5 in

    Length x width x height: 227.6 x 81.5 (mirrors folded) x 72.2 in

    Curb weight: 5298 lbs

EPA fuel economy (city/hwy): 12/16 mpg

Safety equipment: Dual front airbags, dual front side airbags, anti-lock brakes

Major standard features: Dual-zone climate control, power adjustable front seats w/ memory, power rear-view mirrors, power tilt/telescope steering wheel, cruise control, premium AM/FM/cassette/CD sound system.

    The Good Things:

    - Excellent, well maintained engine and transmission.

    - Runs and Drives.

    - Bose stereo system.

    - Custom catback exhaust.

    - Custom SS bowtie on front grill.

    - Custom SS third brake light cover.

    - Custom SS Valve stem caps.

    - Custom SS License plate cover.

    - SS emblems on both seats and on the dash.

    - K/N Air Filter.

    - Engine has 64000 original miles and sounds really good.

    - Well maintain overall.

    - 6.0 Lt 364 cubic inch with 64,000 miles.

The Silverado SS is built on the popular extended-cab short-bed layout, in near-monochromatic paint schemes, with one big exhaust outlet, and LT-grade leather buckets with "SS" embroidery in the headrests. Like 2003 Silverados, the SS gets a revised front-end derived from the Avalanche, but the SS has a unique cross-hatch grille and recessed foglamps.

The SS comes with the 6.0L high-output V-8 from the Escalade, rated at 345 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque, coupled to a 4L65E four-speed automatic. Standard also is all-wheel drive, making the SS the only sport-pickup so equipped; it won't outrun a Lightning, but it will keep up in the rain, and it offers more seating than any sport pickup.

To ensure the SS doesn't polish the pavement like the old SS454, it's fitted with a Z60 suspension that drops it 2.0 in., adds almost 0.75-in. to track width, and employs monotube gas shocks. Aluminum wheels, a locking rear differential, and 275/55-20 Goodyear Eagle LSs round out the package.

The SS also benefits from generic improvements to all Silverados and Sierras, including a revised electrical system, smarter airbags, multizone climate control, and heated power folding signal mirrors. Entertainment options have been advanced with video, XM Satellite radios, and audiophile Bose sound systems tuned for various interior configurations.

Here is the Kelly Blue Book on this model:http://www.kbb.com/chevrolet/silverado-1500-extended-cab/2003-chevrolet-silverado-1500-extended-cab/ss-pickup-4d-6-1-2-ft/?vehicleid=347827&intent=buy-used&mileage=64000&category=pickup&options=4071962%7ctrue%7c4071968%7ctrue%7c4071970%7ctrue%7c4072010%7ctrue%7c4072020%7ctrue&condition=fair&pricetype=private-party#survey

    The Bad Things:

    - I pulled the bed off cause I was going to change the frame myself. I put the bed back on,put four bolts back in. Did not hook the rear wiring harness back up or install the rear bumper. Bed must be realigned. All parts that I took off to change the frame are in the bed or inside the cab.

    - I disassembled the front end cause I was going to change the frame myself.

    - Cab damaged on the lower left side causing driver door to be out of adjustment.

    - Left side mirror broken.

    - Needs driver side airbag.

    - Left front rim was damaged, must be replaced.

    - Frame bent behind Left Front wheel.

    - Front axle extension housing cracked, makes gear noise. I have another front axle that came out of a 4 wheel drive truck that has a good extension housing that I will let go with this truck.
