  1. No plans on buying another SS at this time. I'm in the market for a C5 corvette. Being I still want sporty, but better gas mileage. My folks own a 93 C4 and that's my current driver. Im falling for it hard, so I must 1 up them!

  2. Here's the final verdict from the insurance company folks... They totalled it, they low balled me at 16,3k first I didn't accept it. I fought it and found many trucks(none like mine) worth that. After a week of going back and forth we came to an agreement, 18.3k after the deductible. Am I happy about the truck being stolen and the hard work put into it? No, am I happy for the outcome of paying the damn thing off? YES!

  3. Update: Talked with insurance. They're going to fix the truck to "Immaculate" stock condition. I quote it because well see what is immaculate is to them. I will take the loss on all my stereo items. He couldn't find KMC Slides online he said so he's giving me a check for silverado SS stock rims/tires brand new, which comes out to more than what I paid for the KMC slides. All aftermarket parts that were damaged I will also get a check for. I'm happy with this outcome because when I bought the truck it wasn't in the best shape, I made it look this way... and it also didn't have stock rims/tires, which I would've loved to have too.

  4. Thanks for the support folks, will keep you guys updated. Haven't heard anything yet from insurance.. As of now it still stands, they want to fix it... Which I think once they start dishing out all this money, they'll realize, "Well sh*t - the truck is totalled."

  5. In my experience things like this could easily be an inside job. Its a little fishy that someone would randomly steal your SS between 8-10 pm when there are security guards around.

    :( My condolences sir.

I can't believe that security didn't see this happen and wasn't able to do anything about it. As said, seems like an inside job... even if security just told them when to come by as the best times so no one would be around.

Stuff like this pisses me off so much. :( Words can't express the disgust I have for people like this. They should be drawn and quartered.

Hope you get all your $$ back from insurance. They can be real pissants about giving you $$ for mods if you don't declare them and get additional insurance for them.

    GL keep us posted.

Wow sorry to hear this. super bummer. Its quite sad all the trucks that get stolen over there. there is no way I could leave a SS outside over night there. with as many story's I hear of Stolen SS.

If I lived in a place where I could not garage it. i'd have to find a storage unit or something and buy a cheap DD>

I have a good feeling that this is quite a possibility.

When I notified the manager her response was... "Wow we've never had

this happen before, we're sorry." I talked to the deputy and he couldn't

pull any prints off it. Who knows, stories are unlimited. Everything is

still there, but they damaged it all, instead of taking it... I do have a garage, but it didn't fit in there. So I had to park outside :\

  6. I wish my apartments garage was big enough to fit my truck... Sucks so bad, so they gave me a designated spot RIGHT IN FRONT of my apt. I would've heard it start up, the dudes pushed my truck away then started it. Was stolen between 8-10pm. IM surprised no one saw it... interesting, unless it was an inside job from the "security guards" we have on patrol here

  7. Hey guys, been a very long time since I had logged on here. I still rocked the SS for a long time, until last week thursday night it was stolen right in front of my apartment. It was found 12 hours later in Perris, in a dirt field sitting on the dirt. They stripped everything, rims, system, some cladding, frame is bent, rear axle is all tweak from them dragging it. Dents all over, headlights missing, Shopman bowtie gone, grill gone, doors do not shut, corsa sport exhaust was ripped off due to them dragging it. They cut my alarm etc etc etc. The list goes on. I do have insurance, which the truck was considered totaled by the auto body shop. Haven't heard back from insurance yet, the adjustor needs to go out and check the trucks condition. Here's a few pictures... Trust me, pictures don't do justice... The truck is torn to shit.

  8. Hey guys, I have a friend that is looking to get rid of his nearly new (less then 5k miles on tires) Tons of tread, excellent condition tire/wheels. They're off his 2012 Silverado LT.

The tires are Goodyear 275/55/20. I'm just the middle man here, so if you're interested contact me and I can link you with him. He's asking 1500 OBO... pick-up located in Southern California(Inland Empire) he's also willing to ship at your expense.

  9. Rotors are not the cause. I have had severely warped rotors and they never caused the truck to be out of balance.

First check your tires.... Look for feathering and cupping of the actual tire. Run your hand over the tire from front to back. It should be smooth, if your hand catches any part fo the tire and it doesnt feel 100% smooth that is from uneven tire wear That can cause a problem. Tire should be rotated every 5K... I would have the tires road force balanced. That will ensure a 100% correct balance.

Then check your suspension like tie rods, ball joints.. Or take it to any Sears center and ask for a suspension evaluation and they will look at it for free.

^^^^^like Blown 346 said could be in your suspension tie rod or worn ball joint

He stated that his shop went thoroughly through the suspension. He said when he goes over bumps his truck shimmys's horribly. I still say shocks.

Yea I got it checked twice by two different mechanics. But that really doesn't mean much. I think i'll take it to Sears for the free check up. I have a feeling it's going to be a tire for the fact visual isn't there..

  10. Ok guys so it's really irritating. When I get to 45 mph my trucks front end will shake, I don't really feel it in the steering wheel but the truck shimmy's left and right bad. Now here's the catch it's not all the time. When I hit cracks/bumps @ 45 it'll do it. But at 47mph it completely stops. and at 43 mph it won't do it. I took it to Americas tire to balance tires, result was... Nothing, it still continued to do it. So I took it to a local mechanic, result was they couldn't find anything wrong under the front end. So I ended up taking it back to Americas tire TODAY, and had them re balance and rotate tires... result was... still does it. Im using the DJM 3/4 Kit from NorcalSS. Tires/Rims have both less than 5k on them same with the drop kit. Im stumped... Input?
