Checking A Transfer Case

Thats good info bit dnt hlp me any.... the transfer case is already out and i need to check it bf buying it. I cant remember who but someone a while bck tld me how to check it while it was out.... thats what im trying to figure oit -
Found a nv 149 transfer case said to have low miles out of a cadillac if itll work in my truck how do u check to see if its good while its out of the vehicle.... how to check if the viscous coupler is good?

ok well first i found a nvg 149 for 400 bucks claims to have 40,000 miles on it.... i might go check it out this weekend but its out of the vehicle ........ is ther any way to check to see if its good while its out of the vehicle.. like checking the viscous coupler and stuff

stock valves ....... have not been milled ..... and a local machine shop did the porting

Stock 317 casting new valves new valve seals ..will come with factory spring and rocker arms have been pressure tested for cracks ... not sure on what they flow bwasnt that major of a port job but can tell a difference... and loke i said they dnt hardley have any miles on them since being redone

i have a set of ported and polished heads for sale that im taking off my truck ive had them on there for abt 600 miles had them completley redone bf i put on.... going with a new motor and diff head set up will take $400 obo plus shipping or willing to trade for efi parts like return style regulator 6an line fittings and stuff just let me know what you have

one more thing i see you dont have a regulator on the feed line is that bc itll slow it down when it goes threw the regulator to the return lines

do you have a return system if so can you give me some pointers on how to hook my stuff back up when im done bc i dnt think i did that good the first time and can you email me some mor picks of the intake on how you got everything hooked up and all the vacum ports and stuff that will hlp me out a lot so i can hook up everything the RIGHT way when i put it back together ..... and how much does the elbow run........... my email is [email protected]

im doing the 421 stroker with the flat tops the ported and polished and decked 799s same as 243 with the victor jr intake with a frabicated elbow and a 2 stage fogger system....(just in case) lol and im sure ill be doing some more stuff like i got fabricated valve covers painting the coils blue to match my truck thinking about painting the block too..... having all my brackets powdercoated silver ....painting my intake tube blue my coolant tank blue and doin a electric fan conversion....... im sure im forgeting something.................. what do you think about painting the block and stuff

Well called scatt today to tlk abt the 421 kit and they said that they havnt had any problens with the 421s using oil

Ok well im wanting to stay away with the ..060 bore ima stick with the 4.030 now just deciding on the 4 inch stroke or the 4125 once and last time sry did u say u knew people with 4125 stroke and havnt had a problem

And what abt a 418 would that be economical for a dd bc I pretty much am listing to u and chases advice abt staying away from 421 for a dd I just dnt know shit when it comes to a stroker and yall are hlping me alott

Well how do i figure it out ill have the 799 heads with flatt top pistons witj a -3 valve relief and if i have to i can usea 15 thousandths thicker head gasket to compensate for the shaving i had to have done on the heads. I had to shave 15 thousands bc of a nick in the head but if i do the thicker head gasket that take the head back to the oroginal cc and bring the comp back down

Well i could use a 15 thousandths thicker head gasjet then stock to bring it back dwn cant i? And appricate that site ima call tomorrow and get some more info but i guess what yall are saying is just stay away from a 421... and ur buddies that has them do they drive theres everyday
