    mazda RX-8

you might be able to to find a cheap early year (2005-2006) cts-v

or you know you could go with cheap ones like a srt-4/cobalt ss

IMO not a fan of chyrsler but you could look at there other srt lines

the new taurus SHO is definite sleeper but i do not know how much they are

  2. i do not run my SS in the snow. but i do have a Sonoma ZQ8 and when i had blizzaks it was a breeze, and that was like my first time driving with my licenses. i learned quickly that slow and easy is the way to go. but you may want to "prepare" your truck for the harsh things it gonna threw....just don't wanna see an awesome truck go to waste

  3. My front suspension, steering, and differential are all entirely stock but I get this odd groany noise when I turn right uphills. I work in a chevrolet dealership and all the techs are scratching their heads at it. I am thinking that maybe the clutches in the AWD work against each other when you turn in that particular way and it groans, but I wanted some other opinions, please!banghead.gif

have you changed your oil. or maybe lube up your joints. cheap maintenance that may help....dunno.gif

  4. Well if you driving right now and posting on the internet your doing something illegal or pulled over for bathroom break

How many miles you have on your tranny? Would you have say you are an aggressive driver? Is this the first time and try shifting done to third and then back up I have seen that fix it sometimes

  6. i need some help guys since my truck is a salvage we just replaced it with a normal tailgate and bed. but what i am curious about is the placement like how far up and over and how far apart the letters are. i know its a lot to ask for

i know it goes on the left side but i want it to spec.

  7. All the thick padding in them that make them so comfy, also make the shoes tight. You could just be more susceptible to in grown nails. Some peoples nails are more rounded. Does anyone else in your family get them? Do you play sports? Once it heals to the point of no open wound, you can soak your foot in hot/warm water with epsom salt. It will draw some of the infection out. Also, one your nail starts growing back, soak it a few times a week, because when it's growing back you are at more of a risk of developing another one.

My problem was wearing skateboarding shoes, converse, and cleats. I was in them all day at school, either went to skate after school, or to a friends, so I would not take them off until late at night. The last two times, I did not play football anymore so it was defiantly from the shoes I was wearing. They were not to small, I always had a thumb length between toes, and tip of shoe. They are so thick to protect your feet from skating, that it just squeezed the hell out of my feet.

Edit- I don't think so. The nurse said I couldn't have anymore medicine because they gave me as much as they could. I turned pale, and sweaty. Then they said I turned green before I got sick. My mom was in there every time until they started cutting. She couldn't handle all the blood.

ya it happens to me my dad and my bro only my sisters and mom seem not to get them, and i complain so i get them fixed. i dont think i wear my shoes long but what ever maybe i will try it out ...once my shoes wear out

I had 2 ingrown toenails, on each big toe. Reason was I played soccer 6-7 days a week and was goalie so kicking the ball over half the field or drop kicking it, wreck the skin. Another big reason, and also is the biggest cause of ingrown toenails is unproper trimming/clipping. Always clip from the front, never side. I had half my toenail removed on each procedure, no problem ever since. Not playing soccer anymore though. I wear steel toe boots year round except on hikes where I have New Balance shoes. What type of dr you seeing for this? Ortho? Podiatrist? Make sure its a podiatrist, you wearing skate shoes has probably dropped your arch and screwed your proper ankle alignment up. You might want to get orthotics, you would be surprised at how bad posture will screw your whole body up.

i dont even clip them i have one of those sandpaper thingys (i know girly)

squintnoeswerdrun.gif I think this is the weirdest post I have read so far lol laugh.gif

it was suppose to be about the SSS but i guess we just got wrapped in how much it sucks to have ingrown toe nails

I dont have to come up with an excuse to drive my SS because its my Daily Driver and I have to drive it in the snow and rain. Luckily we dont use Salt out here in Oregon but we do use cinder rock and it creates rock chips.

Hopefully by next winter I will have a winter driver/ hunting rig so I can park or store the SS

...how can you afford premuim all the time or am i like the only one who gets 11mpg??

  8. correct me if i am wrong but if i only saw the 2nd pic i would not know that you could bolt a turbo on there because i mean those things just look like normal headers none of that stupid "log" manifold thing going on.

if i had the money/balls to do a turbo setup i would fer sure get headers like those because those look slick!

  9. I've had three removed. They cut behind the cuticle through the skin, and cut through the nail. Then they took small scissors, and cut down the middle. Then pulled both sides out. My nail has grown back every time, but I have a huge ridge/line down the center. I think it had a lot to do with wearing football cleats, or tight shoes. Nothing sucked worse than going to school, with no toe nail, and EVERYONE stepping on your foot. If you have an injury, everyone is magnetically drawn to it.

Luckily, I can drive mine all year. What sucks is not being able to ride the bike when its below 40ish. I can't remember the last time it snowed down here. Maybe 8-10 years.

like they removed the whole toenail?

because what you just explained sounded like what i have gotten and the way my doctor explained what he will do if it comes back is take my whole nail off and acid it all up.

....cant have ingrown toenails with no nail

and yes i totally agree i mean people don't even know and it just seems like everybody seems to step on your toes so tomorrow i am whippin out the steel toed boots just in case

  10. so i know i should lock up my truck for the winter so it doesnt get all dirty and salty but i just keep on coming up with new excuses to take her out. the most recent one is i just got my ingrown toenails removed (3rd time and if it happens again i lose the whole toenail :() i really tried. i really did,but i couldn't push the clutch down in my sonoma it hurt to much and i wanted to hang with friends. my dad offered his suburban but i said that his gas pedal would be to hard to push down he knew i was lying and said fine but you have to lock it up soon!

does anybody else do that where they know they shouldn't drive it but come up with a lame reason to convince yourself its ok??

  11. Interested in the Cali boys trucks and the hotties you can show off to an easterner :pepsicheer:

ahh but the Midwest you get best of both worlds!!!crackup.gificon_bs.gif

now its hard to choose between yours or the sites

    beautiful women vs beautiful trucks

  12. Random thoughts:

If buying coated headers, I would want them coated inside and out; that will prevent rot.

If you chip/ding coated headers they will rust and [eventually] fail where the skin was damaged and there is no way to repair the coating short of sandblasting the old off and recoating, which is not worth the expense/effort.

Some coating treatments are CHEAP; others are very resistant to abuse (chipping, scuffing).

If you have to 'massage' your headers with a hammer or prybar (hey 1/4 of the time it has to be done!) you will damage the coating.

There is no way I know of to really bring a coated set of headers back to new condition. OTOH you can take a really used set of stainless headers and work them over with heavy scotchbrite and concrete cleaner and the end result will be brand-new looking headers. SAME IS TRUE FOR CORSA - I did this on my catback (scotchbrite and cheap purple walmart degreaser) and it was absolutely brand new again  after 70K-miles of road grime and 1/8" thick layer of coked-on ATF from a few blown transmissions.

The underhood temps with coated headers WILL be noticeably cooler than with stainless headers, which run just as hot as the factory manifolds but without the benefit of the factory tin heat sheilding.

Stainless pipes will blue on you from the extreme heat; some people do not like the coloration (or 'bluing') of these pipes. FWIW, the bluer the pipes the better, it means that there is more chromium content in the stainless (rust corrosion).

Coated headers cannot be welded (repaired) unless all the coating in the affected area is removed first (i.e. ground off, or risk weld contamination); stainless headers CAN be welded IF you get exactly the same alloy of filler rod as the parent metal and pre/post heat the metal. Welding stainless is a biatch and there are only a handful of guys that really can do a repair that will hold and will stand behind their work.

Coated headers will be cheaper to make than stainless (usually).

With coated headers, the rust prevention is all in the application of the coating material - I had a set of AEM Brute Force headers on my truck, and these were not cheap headers ($600+ retail) and after 3-years use the headers were rusting at the point where the primaries were welded to the flange AND the collector because the coater did not spray the coating into the weld areas & achieve coverage - they still rusted in these spots even though the corrosion was minor, but remember I LIVE IN TEXAS and if these pipes were daily-driven in Philadelphia or Jersey in the winter salt they would be swiss cheese by now at these weld joints. If you live in northern states and drive in the winters then stainless is your only option IMO.

    Mr. P. :)

I'm going to add more -

The material/coating (stainless, jet-hot, chrome) is totally secondary when choosing a set of headers IMO. What matters first is correct sizing to intended application, body/frame fitment, COLLECTOR DESIGN, fitment to the catback & correct placement of exhaust hangers, and location of O2 bungs.

IMO collector design is where almost all header makers fall-down; trust me you don't know the struggle of getting sleeved collectors apart (and you WILL have to take them apart, someday) and Dan & I just cringe every time we have to help with a truck that has Pacesetters or Stainless Works headers for this exact reason, it takes an act of God, 3 men and a boy, and an hour just to fight the collectors apart. And you don't know the aggrivation of trying to keep triangular collector gaskets from blowing out - NO traditional 3-bolt flanged collector gasket will hold-up to nitrous or boost forever, you have to get the flanges exactly straight (paralell) to each other so the gasket is evenly loaded and in practice this is almost impossible to do. My preference for collector design is (1) ball/socket design (ARH design), (2) steel o-ring design (OEM manifold design), (3) sleeved design (Stainless Works design); all other bolt-together flange designs I have never had good luck with. One of the biggest reason I bought ARH pipes is specifically because of the collector design.

I am not trying to say finish doesn't matter (it is very important) but make sure you look at all these other factors before making a purchase.

MR.P. said this in this thread found it educational and also cant you buy stainless steel and send them out or you dont want to spend that much money?
