  1. I can still get my hands on some of the VHO door badges, but it will take me like a week. I also still have 1 of each "GM Performance" aluminum badge at the house somewhere. PM me if you want to work something out, maybe Paypal or something??

    -Jon in TX.

Got them today and they are great-looking. I will have to finally get some pics of my truck up with the new emblems on there. I am a very satisfied customer, lol...

  2. I hate to do this but I NEED to finish my 70 Chevelle. Money is very tight around here and I need to sell these items. I never installed them but they were on another vehicle. So up first is a set of MR.P Electric HPM fans it will come with the harness and directions. Im looking to get 475 shipped. Its will come shipped in the original box to ensure nothing will be broken. Sale Pending

Next up is a set of Doug Throely Headers. the are ceramic coated and they are long tubes. These were installed before I bought them they could use a little cleaning but over all they look great. I also had the guy cut up the Y pipe just so i could have some extra pipe so that will also be included along with nuts bolts and gaskets. looking for 500 shipped again in the original box some what heavy but will be packed to ensure nothing will get damaged.

I would love to have those headers, but money is so tight right now....

  3. My father installed the Bilstein HD shocks on his stock 4x2 GMC VHO.

These were stiffer than the stock GM shocks by far. He pulls a camper off/on in the summer now that he is retired, he liked them...

You wouldn't be able to get the part numbers, would ya? If I said please? I have looked on their website but I am not sure which ones to get...

  4. Does anyone have any suggestions on some shocks I could get for the rear of my truck to keep it from bouncing when I haul my 4500# boat? I have bilsteins on my car and they are great for handling, but towing is a whole different animal. Anybody upgraded their stock 2wd non lowered truck? Mine is just a regular VHO with nothing done to it. My boat trailer sadly has only one axle and it is pretty bouncy and really puts a lot of weight on my rear end.

  5. You mean you don't have to have it paid off to be on this forum? Someone lied to me. Luckily, I paid cash for mine (military bonus).... Mine isn't an SS anyways, just a GMC VHO. Sticker was $38k... I got medically retired from the military after getting hurt on duty, so now it's balogna and ramen noodles, but I still have my truck! :)

  6. Like he said, "YES". And they are getting scarce too. I just sold a set not too long ago.

Here is the GM PN# 15222752. They are sold as a set & with a mounting template too. If your local GM dealer can not get them, let me know. I might can find another set for you....

I don't have a local GM dealer. I would like a set and at least one of the GM Performance Division badges. Actually, I need a couple of them.

  7. My truck doesn't run well on 89 or 87 octane. It gets much worse gas milage on it, too. I have never put anything but high test in it, but other people have borrowed my truck and put regular in it. The increase in mileage more than pays the price difference. I thought that you had to put at least 92 in it because of the high compression?

  8. Hey, when I went to your link, it just took me to an empty cart... How many miles did you get out of your first set of pads? I have 63,xxx on mine and they look ridiculously thick. I was amazed. In fact, I thought something must be wrong, but after looking around here and talking to other GM truck folks, I found out the first set routinely goes way over a 100k... My truck has a whole lot of HWY miles on it, too.... I would like to have one of the bigger brake kits they advertise, but I don't know anything about them. I have rotors all around. I am interested in what the guys have to say about slotted and drilled, etc...

  9. Hi Don,

I've been thinking of these: http://www.amazon.co...2246568&sr=1-30

I'll let others weigh in as well. I know that the "brightness" is based on the temperature scale. starting at 2500K and going up to 10000K. The light the human eye "really sees" is different. Hence the lower scale bulbs (2500-3500) look yellow.

5000k - 7000K will look white to light blue. After 8000K or so the lights will "look" purple.

You tube has some good vids by people who have made the changes. That's why I'm looking at the lights in the above link (6000K)... It's a matter of taste for brightness/color options..

    I hope this helped, :-)

    Allen,

You have a great name, my middle name is Allen, lol... You even spell it correctly, haha...

I am sort of familiar with the color temperature scale because one of my other hobbies is photography...

I have already changed my thinking and I want to go all HID now, you guys are educating me about all this stuff. I think I might go either 6000 kelvin or 8000 with all of them. I was looking at a guy's new new body style chevy today, those lights those things have look serious. I wish mine had those that are more focused forward, I forget what they call them. I am gonna start with the fog lights though, maybe with this kit you have shown me. I figure that I can go up against the learning curve a lot more safely with the fogs, then move to the DRL's, then highs, then lows. I should have a pretty good idea of what I like by then... Maybe you should go ahead and buy these to see how you like them and then let me know how it turns out, lol... One of us has to go first, hahahhhhaaa......

  10. What are the brightest plug and play bulbs I can run for my fog lights without burning something up? What a bout upgrades on my brights and regular lights? I plan on doing the diode upgrade so I can run them all at once, and I don't think I will do the HID upgrades. Anybody know? Suggestions? Thanks guys...

  11. Like they said it's personal preference I think. I use Mobile One Synthetic in both my vehicles. I have heard awesome stuff about the purple stuff, but I wouldn't know. I think the real trick is to keep it changed, which I always do. I think the Wix filters are the best, but I am sure there are better things out there if you wanna pay for them.

  12. I was looking at them a few minutes ago and they had dual in/dual out gibsons. If I were a good forum member I would post the link, wouldn't I? Hold on and let me get it.... (tick tock tick tock)...

    http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/search/?Ntt=Gibson+Exhaust

And, there it is. Look at the second and third systems down. There were several more on that site, and I don't endorse the site at all as i know knothing about them, but the parts we need are there. When I did my search I had to search for 04 GMC Sierra Denali. I figure that's closer to my actual truck than the SS is, but anyone can feel free to correct me where I am wrong.

Does anybody have an estimation of how many HP I stand to gain by adding Pacesetter LT's plus a system comparable to the Gibson or Corsa systems plus a cat delete plus a custom tune? I am just curious. And a little greedy, lol.

  13. Donald- try disconnecting your positive battery cable to get that CD out. Sometimes it works. How many miles do you have on your VHO? GM has an extended coverage on the dash guages with failling stepper motors.

I had an aluminized Gibson Dual-Sport system on my '04 GMC VHO, there was no highway drone noise what-so-ever. Sound great a wide-open throttle & mello at the stop lights....

My truck has 63,xxx on it. I do need to check with GM to see if there's anything I can do, but I think its probably too late. There are no more GM dealers in my town! I think there is one in Chattanooga, though. I should look around and check with them on Monday...

I will have to check out the Gibson stuff, too. I have never heard anything but good about them, thanks for the info...

I hope the battery cable disconnect will work, I sure don't want to take the dash apart just for that silly thing, lol... I will let you know how all this stuff goes...

  14. Hi Don,

I did look at the Borla's.. but they do cost almost twice as much. Also from You tube, some stated there was a drone effect in the Silverado trucks. I can't comment on that. I'm glad they work for you and the Impala SS!!

As for my Corsa dB's... I've had them on for over 8 weeks and love them. Quiet on the road or highway, but when you hit the loud pedal - They're GREAT! So far everyone loves the sound except the wife... Oh well, can't please them all...

    Take care, :-)

I'm definitely in the market for exhaust for my Truck, too. I would love the Borlas just because my other car sounds so great with them, but I can't afford them for this truck. I am leaning toward the Corsa's, too. I hope you continue to like them. Your wife just doesn't understand. I think you may have to have a certain amount of testosterone before you can understand it, lol.... I also a gonna have to make a decision between my car and my truck as to which one gets the most attention (and money)... Best of luck to you guys.

  15. best one in the state huh? huh.gif

    tongue.gif

glad to see another tennessean on the board! cheers.gif

    let's see some pics!

I will get some pics up someday. I would like to get together with you and see how your exhaust sounds. I want the gains that the exhaust would include, but I don't want that highway drone that some exhaust systems have. I want mine to be still relatively quiet at highway speeds inside the cabin, but still sound good when I wanna rev it up. I currently have no mods whatsoever...

  16. I bought my '04 in Tennessee new. Still have it and it is still the best-looking truck in the state! Mine ve er had the badges on it, although I wish I had them. My CD play has a Zack Brown disk in it that it can play but it can't seem to spit it out. No problems, but sometime the speedo is wrong... Love this truck....

  17. My speedometer works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. I looked down the other day cruising at HWY speed, and it said I was going 20. The odometer and other gages seem to be correct. At other times, it seems perfectly normal. I have been noticing for some time that it has been jerky. Anybody else have any similar problems? '04 GMC VHO...
