  1. Hey - Great choice of photos to post -- I work for The Man... Since i'm here in Ohio - we like to go to Indy (the Nationals) / Bristol (great area and people) and / Charlotte ( just like Bristol - only newer and better).. It's kind of neat to se how th SSS still turns heads at the tracks and can attract admirer's' (sp?).. Hope to see any of the SS Silverado .com gang at any of these races. Pro Stock could be very interesting this year, With Warren and Kurt not having sponsorship and Erica returning with a Mustang, along with Dave Connely not having sponsors.. This might make the Jegs vs Summit contests even more "fun"... Hope the economy doesn't do too much more damage to the sport..

  2. Looking for any year, any color, 75k mile or lower..I can pay cash or trade my super slick of 2500 Duramax with a lot of after market stuff, 17 ich polished wheels, just don't need it any more, sold my big trailer. Better the price more intrested I'll be..

    Thanks all

  4. Haven't been to Pittsburgh area since I went to visit Bryan at PCM for Less, but could bring it that far - onve the weather gets better and more predictable.. How soon are you planning to make your decision? I would like to show the truck when itis at least clean enough for youto appreciate the Black and Chrome !! my e-mail is [email protected]

  5. Hi.

I am trying to get some info on what Hard Tonneau Cover (e.g. Gaylord, ARE, Lund) will fit over the '03 SS stock tailgate proctector/spoiler? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :seeya:

When I had my '03 - The ARE was the 1st one to have the Hard Cover that fit. No removal of the Tailgate protector../. You can get the underside coated to match a Bed Rug and with light, if you wish. Makes a very nice package.. Look at spending about $1000 - $1300 for the Cover and BedRug..

  6. I'm in Dublin, Bigvette, do you have the "other" red SS, I ran into another Red SS at the JEG's at 270 and broad st. I've also run into a Blue SS at Columbus Airport as well as a Black One. If you end up with a El Mirage/Bonneville racing schedule under your wiper, It's Me tagging your truck......

:driving: Sorry, I have the Black '06 that spends most of it's time running between Jeg's Corp (in Delaware) and Upper Arlington.. I've seen a Red SS on Riverside near Home Rd, and a Black SS w/ step bars on Riverside, several times.. Anyone you know??

  7. :driving: Well I'm here in Columbus... Working at Jegs.. Heading to Indy for NHRA Nationals on Friday the 1st - (Jeg is coming back to Pro-Stock), so have to see the anouncement and watch him drive West Coast Hemi (SS/AA Hemi Barracuda).... Also Super Chevy will be here Sept... Andy might be able to get us a parking coral for just SS'S at Super Chevy..
  8. :chevy: Eric, 1st thing is to contact Bryan.. If I understand him correctly, What you are requesting with the shift firness and that you tow with the SSS, he will modify the standard tune.. I have an '06 SSS 2WD, and the shift firmness is great, however, the shifts are pretty firm. I don't tow and that was one of Bryan's questions before we did the tune.. Just e-mail or call him and discuss what you desire - he can fine tune to your requirements.
  9. :driving: Let me put it this way, once you drive one for a little while, you won't be happy unless you have one.. I had an '03 Black SS and was dumb enough to trade it when Gas $ spiked a couple of years ago.. I went through an Impala SS and a Z-71, and just wasn't satisfied with the curb appeal / performance / and over all ego boost that I got from the SSS.. Bought an '06 Black SS 2WD on July third and after a visit to Bryan at PCMforLess, I am now happier than ever... The only thing better for your "boy toy" ego would be a Vette ( have owned 4 of them too, but they aren't practicle for everyday use - ).. Hope you get the SS - They are a Hell of a Kick and when you get one set up for your style driving and looks, they are really cool..... ENJOY
  10. I'm about to have Bryan do my third truck ('03 SS , '05 Z-71 , '06 SS), and believe me - He wouldn't be doing this to my truck (I drive about 22 - 25K per year), if I didn't have the utmost confidence in his work.. True, any computer program can fail as NO ONE can forcast what Everyone will do to their vehicle.. My '03 SS had over 35K on Bryan's tune and it just kept getting better.. Fuel milage was good and performance outstanding (although the shift firmness "scared" me once in a while - haha - very very strong).. The '05 Z-71, only received 17K in 8 months, and was as good as can be done to a 5.3 engine.. The '06 has 1500 miles and is going to Bryan on Thursday. I don't expect any issues and as long as I keep him upto date on my mods (so the tune can be adjusted as necessary), I figure all will be cool - even in Chicago or Atlanta, etc.. When the PCM is tuned to what you want and to the way you use your truck, it should last...... Good Luck...

  11. Not sure about the Black Lug Nuts, but we carry McGard at Jegs - installation kit includes Locks - I have a set fo my 20" Magnets. Like them a lot as they are shaped and built to appear like they will not chip very easily with lug wrenches. Give us a cal at 800 - 345-4545 and talk to the tech speciallists.. The call and the conversation are free.. Good luck..

  12. :dunno: OK guys, I went with the MagnaFlow 3" D in / D out muffler and the above post was right - IT IS LOUD inside the truck..It is almost embarassing in city traffic since I haven't been to see Bryan yet - hoping that his tune will balance the power range a bit. Being a big dummy at this, someone mentioned the addition of an X pipe to reduce the noise level.. Here's the question - Where does the pipe go ( in front of the muffler?)? and how does that reduce interior noise levels?? Thanks in advance for your input////// :flag:
  13. :banghead: Having a real issue finding a muffler to replace the stock SSS.. The only (nearly) match that I can find (2 3/4" dual in / 3" dual out) ( I know, the secondary out is a fake), is from magnaflow ( dual 3" in & out).. Everybody wants to replace the entire setup with 2 1/2" single in / 3" out systems... That just doesn't make sense - as the bigger tubes (especially the duals) have to flow more than a narrower single. Anyone have opinions / or advise, I would appreciate the input...

    Thanks

  14. I know this has to have been asked several times in the past..... What size exhaust pipes are on the 2006 SS. Is the pre-muffler 2 1/2 or 2 3/4 ?? and the after 2 3/4 or 3 ???

Getting ready to order the Flowmaster and I forgot what size I had on my 2003..

    Thanks :driving:

  15. Yeah I am thinking about getting rid of a couple of vehicles and getting a 4 door duramonster.  0% kicks ass

My understanding is that the 0% does not apply to the Duramax trucks - 1500 light duty only. And no '07 Tahoe/Suburban/Avalanche, and of course, no Corvette.

We quoted a fellow employee at Jegs a 0% price on the 3/4 ton duramax w/ 6speed Allison , today.. So I think the deal is good at least thru the 3/4 tom...

  16. :flag: Thanks all,, We decided against the Intimidator version (couldn't justify the cost) but we found a Black SS with everything except TC and Sun Roof in Cincinnati, and thanks to the 0%, my payment will come down $15.. Of couse I will have to add my standard mods - AEM Brute Force / PCMforLess Tune / Flowmaster Suv 50. AND my dealer is allowing me to keep my 20x9 American Racing Magnet wheels and 285x50 Hankook tires, so I'll have two sets to occupy my driving..

Really missed the 2003, after it was gone, and now have a "driver" so that I won't go through 1 1/2 tanks of fuel just to and from work every week.. That should really help the "enjoyment" factor and let me chase my way to some more NHRA events....

Am really looking forward to getting the truck - early next week.. Will keep ya'll posted as mods and performance are tested..
