I have 305 40 22" and they do not rub. Also when I had my 05 SS with 24" on them I ran 305 40 24" and they barely missed the wheel well and did not run either

Its probably do toe the width of the tire. I have the same issue with my 305-35-24.
installed some 302 40 to my 22s but..
