  1. Thanks. I sent them an email and only sent me back a link to their troubleshooting PDF. I responded to him letting him know that I don't think that there can be anything wrong with my truck because it's fine with the stock TB plugged in. I think I'd have issues even with the stock TB if the truck was the problem. I'm gonna plug the LS3 TB into my wife's TBSS just to check it and make sure it's good.

  2. I only unplugged my stock TB which is still on the truck, plugged in the x-link, then plugged in the LS3 TB. As soon as I turn key to "on," I get reduced engine power and the three codes. Tried to unplug and plug back in several times with same result. All connections are tight and it's the latest x-link V4. Everything goes back to normal once I remove the x-link and plug my stock TB back in.

  3. Well I finally have my fuel line being modified. Tonight I was just trying to make sure I have everything I need for the swap and just getting a plan together. I decided to unplug the stock throttle body (78mm) and plug in the 90mm LS3 Throttle body that I got off eBay using the v4 X-link just to be sure everything works. But of course it didn't, setting codes P0120, P0220, and P1516 at key on. I obviously didn't start the engine because I had the 90mm just resting in the radiator support. I tried several times and also tried to use the throttle with the ignition on but got no throttle plate movement and reduced engine power on IPC. Anyone seen this before?

  4. Does anyone know Somewhere that I can send my spare fuel rail crossover to have -AN fittings welded on for the TBSS intake? I don't really trust many general welding shops around unless they have done something like this before. The crossover isn't perfectly round and I'll be pissed if it leaks when put together. I know some of you have done this mod and they look great.

Also, should I steal the 87mm TB off my TBSS and put the LS3 gold on the TBSS or use the 90mm gold with the x-link (4.0) on the SSS?

  5. So I was on my way to work Monday am a few exits away on the highway I feel my steering wheel start shaking bad. Luckily it was snowing/raining and the highway was icy so everyone was going slow. I suspected a front cv joint so I pulled to the brake down lane and turned the steering wheel lock to lock before pulling back into the highway. Sure enough, no vibration. Happened two more times before finally getting to work. While pulling into the parking lot, I noticed a TBSS had been traded in over the weekend (I'm a service manager at a dodge dealer). Pissed off about my broken truck, I decide to text my wife an tell her I'm trading it in and I tell her about the TBSS. She replays "no your not, your not getting rid of your truck". Ok, I'm coming home to get your car (07 Accord loaded, but still a Honda) and trade it then. She says, OK, whatever you want. Damn, that's was easy. She wants to drive the SSS! Now that's a wife. But I have to admit, I still like driving the SSS more even though it's def slower. I also wasn't happy about getting embarrassed last week In the SSS by a 2012 F150 eco boost with only a mild tune especially considering he works for me and told everyone. Gonna keep working on the SSS though and throw some bolt-ons to the TBSS too. I gotta a TBSS intake, x-link, 90mm TB and shift kit still waiting for me to install. Just haven't gotten the spare fuel rail modded yet for the intake.

    Thinking vanity plates this time...

    HISSS and HERSS.

  6. Do I need to have a retune in order to run this immediately after install or can I wait until I install the long tubes? I know the performance gains are much better after a tune but will I have idle issues after installing the 90mm TB and x-link without a tune?

  7. Got my Zippy tuned PCM back and installed. Just waiting for the shift kit. Man, what a difference a tune makes. Big thanks to Zippy who has been extremely helpful and patient with all my questions. I'll be back at the track soon but it's definitely quicker already.

  8. I took my intake off at 100k. Full of crud from the pvc system. I would start cleaning that the MAF. Try a tune. NED is a great track at a low elevation for good times. O2's are sluggish with age as well.

Absolutely getting a tune ASAP. I'll clean the MAF this weekend. As far as the O2's, they are not used during WOT to adjust any fuel tables due to being narrow band sensors so not sure that will make much of a difference.

  9. Compared to the other sport trucks (Ram Srt-10 and Lightning) the SS is the slowest stock vs. stock, but once you get down to the mods the awd makes it a competitor.

ARH would be my only choice. 100% American made and products, do not have to worry about Chinease metal, and their may be more in the future to to offer from them. Their is a place in MA that has a dyno long enough for our trucks, however we would need a group of us to get Don to the dyno as the place that houses the dyno is a foreign car (mostly bmw) mod shop. Ive also been talking to Don about things I need done to the truck.

I'm not trying to bust your balls, but pretty much all Stainless steel is made in China. I'm in the manufacturing business, 80% of what we make is stainless (oil and gas industry). The raw material comes for china.

Texas Speed makes a some stainless headers for under $400. Looks like a decent price for stainless.

  10. Ill bench race you right here.. right now.. for pink slips..... LETS DO THIS!

You don't want none if this kid! I got the fastest imagination on the bench. And if I can't bench beat ya, I know this guy who puts a $100 bill on his dashboard...

The TBSS with those mods was only running 14.0? Don't feel bad about your 15.9 then. Seen a SRT8 300 run a 12.8 with slicks and 2800 stall only and the guy weighed atleast 400.

The kid with the TBSS said he ran 15.0 then went to Slowhawk for a tune and thermostat the ran 13.2's. He was running consistent 14.0's the night I was there so maybe it was just a bad night for racing. I'll be back up in a few weeks with my tune and thermostat. Itching to go back up already, love drag racing. It's almost as fun as bench racing, or is it called forum racing now?
