  1. I am getting the truck to my house and they are cutting me a check and I pick my body shop. I don't know what is salvageable and what isn't yet. Will know later this evening. I might end up repairing all the stuff myself and then sending it to get painted. I was looking at GMpartsdirect.com as well. Not too shabby on prices either.

  2. Snag those brake ducts off there and get new ones. Doesnt hurt to have an extra set. They look like they survived!

Hmmm maybe a good time to upgrade to fog lights:D. The body shop that I am going to take it to I know somewhat personally. So I think a billet grille stuff is in the future. They said if I order all of my stuff and just gave it to them they would install. So I would still be fixed to OE quality without OE prices. And no stuctural damage. Just hurt the bumper supports but did not get any frame.

Guys have any other suggestions I might want while I'm at it;)

  3. No airbags did not deploy. Adjuster showed up while I was there. So made sure to stress on him that everything is SS specific. He said they are going to cut me a check and I get to pick my body shop. So shouldn't be too long. Going to get the truck out tomorrow after work. He just emailed me and said estimate so far is around 4000 dollars. He is still checking on prices. Here is more more shots of it today.

  4. As far as I can tell it looks like its just bumper, bumper cover, grill, headlights, and the drivers fender. Amazingly it didn't touch the hood. Didn't even hit the hood deflector. She hit the car doing about 45.

  5. Yea already have a claim in. Honestly I am not sure about how the paint transfer happened on the other side. Looks like it can all be buffed out. Didn't hit frame as far as I could tell. Just bumper and what you guys see.

  6. Your not in the wrong chad. First come first serve. You sent me money to get your tonneau cover right away. I called the guy and was in contact with him right away as well. Told him what was going on and he held it. Sometimes a simple reminder your not forgotten is suffice. You didn't hear for a week too bad so sad.

  7. A thing with turbos to remember as stated is efficiency. It works the same way as a supercharger on the intake side, but not on the exhaust obviously. You want max flow/velocity coming out of the exhaust to spin the turbine, but at the same time not choke your motor with the additional air. The biggest thing is to obviously make sure you have even flow patterns across the intake. The biggest gain with turbochargers is within the heads. Flow!!! Easiest way I can put it is get as much cold dense air in, then get that air as quickly out. Hope this makes sense. I am on my phone so when I get home later and on a actual computer I can better type it out.

  8. Subscribed!!!!!!

And when you say stick lq9. No portwork or anything done to the heads??? The thing inbetween superchargers and turbochargers is that turbo's are all about efficiency more or less. You would be surprised how much a small port job would do with a efficient turbo setup. I have been building turbo setups for years and I don't consider myself to know it all but have a pretty good grasp at it lol. I have read a lot of books about turbocharging and studied it very well. If you want a good read on turbocharging I can send you a book called "maximum boost" by Corky Bell. Very good read and gives you good fundamentals about it.

  9. lulz at those who think racing automatics are so scientific. leave it in drive and mash the pedal on the right. You cannot shift a trans better or faster than a properly tuned computer. So not sure where all the "bad driver" comments are coming from.

    Ive been wondering this myself.....

Must have been watching to much Fast and Furious and think the only way to race is shifting through 25 gears as violently as you can. Why would you try to out-shift your computer with your column shift... ITS AN AUTOMATIC!!!!!

Really... you obviously don't race much or the awd has gotten to your hollow dome. Get in a 10 second mustang that is a auto with 10.5 inch slicks. Or same time with a high hp car and just mash the gas. Most high hp cars that you see crash at a track are autos and they lose traction.

I also see a lot of guys here that have traction problems even with awd. There is no mashing and going sometimes with a auto. Get some more track time with a high hp car before you start blabbing useless info from your mouth.

  10. Ithe way I see it is a win is a win. You guys are starting to sound like three typical I missed a gear, I wasn't ready, my truck isn't running right. He has videos that he beat it, good enough in my book.

  11. You can beat anything just about with a good driver. Plus if you know the vehicle real well you know how far you can push it. I know my s10 I beat a lot of stuff that I shouldn't have. Same with my SS. But I have owned my SS for a year now and have owned my s10 for 2 now. Can't wait to get my s10 ls swapped to go out and create some serious havoc.
