  1. Posting here as the rest of the forum seems kinda dead.  :(  I have a 2002 Sierra Denali that I put a SSS spoiler on.  It has since been beaten on pretty bad during a few hauls ?  Was hoping to replace it.  Can't find one anywhere.  It looks like this:  -2BFaGFuCi_Mt5EX8v683AeRP0jHh4S0u80iDyqg

I think the PN is 15174202 but I'm not sure.  Can anyone confirm or let me know where I can find one of these?  Surely these are still available.. ?

Thanks for the help everyone.  Is there another place where everyone has gone?  I know the Denali guys lurk on facebook now.. as much as I hate that place.

  2. ISS is more than a signature on the dash and some badges,

Magazine review article on the Intimidator SS:

When compared to the "normal" Silverado SS, the Intimidator is more than just a badge package. The Earnhardt edition will have a lowered ride height, a black monochromatic color highlighted with "Intimidator" badge on the tailgate and doors, a racing-inspired tailgate spoiler and a silver grille inset. It will also be set apart from the standard SS with a performance-tuned suspension and a stiffer front stabilizer bar. It will include a lowered ride height, performance suspension, two-stage multi-leaf springs, Tenneco shocks, a stiffer front stabilizer bar and harder front jounce bumpers. It will also be rear wheel drive with a 3.73 locking rear differential. The exterior will feature monochromatic black paint and "Intimidator" badges on the front doors and on the back of the truck. Chrome 20-inch wheels will be standard, along with a silver grille insert and a spoiler on the tailgate.

Why do I feel that half of what was quoted above regarding suspension was just repeated?

TBH, I understand why the Intimidator would be attractive as a collector model but not sure why someone would want to spend almost double on a truck that only has a couple extra badges and spoiler on it. GLWS

  3. Was run off the road a few weeks ago and lost two of my Boss 330 22x9 wheels. After looking for replacements, I found that Boss Motorsports has been killed so the wheels have been discontinued.

Does anyone have a set for sale? I would even take just two.

    Thanks for your help.

    -Rick

  4. How wide are the tires on those wheels? My biggest worry about running 24s would be having wide tires on them and not getting traction in snow. I just throw the cruddy plasti-dipped stockers back on in the winter. :/

  5. Thanks bud :)

Now I just have to finish the Regal turbo project. Then I can look into lowering the truck next year. Also want to finish up the Escalade console mods (clock, HVAC). At some point I want to upgrade the HU on this thing too. I swear... the whole modding thing is a disease that takes over. :)

  6. Hmmm...

To add an interesting wrinkle that I didn't previously think of, my motor is not the VHO. So, Magnaflow is saying the cats listed above will work on the SSS and 2006 Sierra (w/ VHO motor). I called them and they thought I should just go w/ the 2002 Sierra HD cats. Not sure if those are the correct ones. I was told that 93480 and 93479 would work. Need to look into this more.. I'd figure the 6.0L would have a very similar exhaust setup but I guess it's possible that the cat/s are in a different place on the d/p.

  7. Thanks for the reply. Am I to be of the assumption you mean the Magnaflow unit is a bolt in or did it have to be welded? If it was a bolt-in, any chance you know the part number? I'm striking out looking for any alternatives to the CATCO ones I listed above.

    Thanks again.

  8. Hmmmm... I revved the motor in park and noticed i'm still getting the sound while I'm out of gear. (Additionally, the noise wasn't there for the first few minutes of my drive home from work so it seems to coincide with heating up). This is something stupid I should have done before I posted this distress call... huh?

Wouldn't this suggest it's not a driveline part? I'm sure the T-case is not great but I don't think it's at the failure point... yet. I'm thinking one of the cats took a shit and I'm hearing the guts shuttering and rattling around when I'm on the throttle. Will throw up another post to see what you guys suggest for aftermarket cats. It's looking like no one makes them in a nice plug n play format so I might have to get universal POS high-flow cats welded in. Hoping to avoid that.

    Thanks again fellas. Appreciate it.

  9. I'm pretty sure my transfer case is on it's way out. I've known this for a bit now. Unfortunately, I think the time has come for some serious $$ to be spent on driveline overhaul.

This morning, my truck was making all kinds of racket underneath when I was going part throttle. I was hearing shuttering and a little howling. Once I gave it more throttle, the sound would go away completely. The shuttering sound had been there for a little bit but nowhere near this loud. It has me nervous.

Looking for concensus from you guys. I know sounds are difficult to diagnose on the internet but are we still thinking transfer case or am I looking at even more bad news at this point (front and or rear diff)? I am trying to schedule an appointment with the local Chevy shop (they are very good) to have their master tech give it a look. Hoping for tomorrow or Monday.

    Your thoughts are appreciated.

  10. Looking for tips from the radio gurus here on how to go about this... or if it's even possible. I keep getting conflicting theories about whether I can do this. Ideally, I'd just like to plug my iPod into the HU.

If it is possible, what would I need to buy to tap in and add the input? The truck has the factory 6-disc changer and that is something I'd like to keep, if possible.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  11. Thanks guys. Definitely needs lowering. More now than ever. I have a little apprehension about doing that as I've heard it will eff with the driveshaft angle and need some tweaking. To me, I think it would look amazing with a 2/4 drop though. If anyone wants to instigate and throw out some ideas, feel free to post up. :)
