  1. As an FFL myself, I can assure you that you will need to be a resident of the state you want to buy a handgun/pistol in. For long guns that is not always the case though, it varies between states though on their laws about selling to non-residents.

Your only option is to buy in the state where you are technically a resident and bring it back to Virginia.

Or become a resident but you already said you don't want to ;)

  2. Selling my 2003 Silverado SS in Black w/ 95,000 miles

    $15500 OBO

    Call or Text Chad @ (517) 945-3301

Email [email protected] for more pictures as it only let me upload some.
Located in Jackson, MI but willing to travel (within reason) to meet for serious inquiries.

6.0L V8, AWD, 4sp Auto Transmission, charcoal leather seats. Low miles for a 2003 and it's in great shape for the year as well. It has some minor blemishes on the body and interior but overall it is in great shape. The motor and transmission are running excellent.

The body is an 8.5/10. It has some minor blemishes but nothing major. The interior is an 8.5/10 as well. The front seats show some wear but no rips or tears, the rear seats are almost perfect.

New tires within 2000 miles, Goodyear Eagle LS2s.

The truck is all stock except for a K&N Air filter.

    It has the following options:

    Power windows
    Power locks
    Dual Power seats
    Leather heated seats
    CD player
    AM/FM radio
    Rhino lined truck bed
    A/C
    Cruise Control

I just bought the truck a couple of months ago, it was my dream truck but I am making a career change and moving out west to Arizona and don't need such a nice car out there. My loss is your gain.

  3. I'm finally in the market. Let me know what you have. Preferrably lower mileage under 60-70k. I could possibly go for the Arrival Blue for the right deal.

    Have cash.

Trying to get a hold of Stitches to inquire about that truck but no response so wondering if it's sold.

    Thanks,

    Chad

  4. Hard to argue with this logic. Well put. I've owned quite a few guns in my quest for the perfect one. In the end, get one, shoot it as much as you can, and take defensive classes if possible. BTW, nice gun.

Thanks, it's a good setup. The serrations are a nice added touch for one handed manipulations from ATEi and I do the grip mods for a living.

  5. What am I getting into if I buy a higher mileage SS with 140k-160k? What are my options if something happens to the engine? Rebuild? Replace?

    What about drivetrain and such?

I'm getting an SS, just trying to decide if I want to save some money and get a higher mileage one.

    Thanks.

  6. Avid gun guy here, I'm looking into getting an SS in the next 6-8 months. My question is how much room is there under the rear seat of the SS. My friend has a newer Silverado and can keep quite a lot of crap back there but I'm not sure how much there is in the 03-06 Silverado's, specifically the SS.

What I want to keep back there:

    AR Pistol (about 27" long)

    Small rig with magazine pouches

2 day get home bag filled

    Full medical kit

    Doable?

I am also planning on purchasing a bakflip tonneau cover for it that locks for the bed. I would rather keep that stuff closer and easier to get to but I could keep my long guns back there.

    TIA

  7. First off, think about what you will be using it for. Competition, home defense, personal protection, plinking at the range, etc...

It it's just a range, or plinking gun, there is no reason to be too picky. However, if it for any sort of protection, I highly recommend a polymer framed, striker fired gun, re: Glock or M&P.

Those are the only to I recommend for defense because I personally have over 12k behind the trigger of my Glock 19 and have run it in many many classes (seven in the last year and a half) and it always works. BTW, I haven't cleaned it since last September.

Hammer fired guns are ok for competition or range but the main reason I don't like it for defensive purposes is that the hammer is an obstruction and if something gets in the way of it trying to hit the firing pin, then you have a dead gun.

Also most hammer fired guns come in either a decocker or manual safety set up. Both of which I don't like for defensive purposes. I want to unholster the gun and shoot, not click off a safety or have a 10lb trigger pull for the first pull.

    Here is my setup:

  8. My vote goes towards the Raven Concealment Vanguard II. It's the same concept but it attaches better to the belt and doesn't fall out because it has a strut that goes around the belt. Also, the retention isn't too strong. The MIC looks like it takes some pulling to get it out.

I carry every day with mine appendix and have taken three handgun classes with it.
