  1. We were doing some chicken scratch math yesterday. The 06/07 hood is probably 8-10 lbs heavier then the 03/05 hood. We were guessing that the bolt on would weigh around 20-25 lbs. I would say the stock 03/05 hood weighs 45-50 lbs or more. The company making them will weigh it when it's done, and we'll weigh both body style hoods to show the savings.

On the how soon part, I've got a list of around 7 that ready to go now. As soon as the mold is ready (I hope it's by the end of the week) then they should be ready to take orders. I would probably expect 4-6 weeks on them to make it, which seems like a lot but compared to other fiberglass places it's not bad.

But, there are about 15-20 others wanting pictures. So, there is a good chance you could order it a month from now and be ok. If they have enough interest they'll keep the mold in production and sell them to the general public, which is fine with me.

  2. Yes, I will get pictures before hand. I have about 15 guys that are requesting pictures before they commit so I'll put you on the list with them.

This will be a complete fiberglass hood, bolt on or pin on your choice.

Yes they will be Gel Coated.

It is very high quality fiberglass work, Heads Up Composites do most if not all the Outlaw and X275 front ends in hand laid fiberglass. They have a Facebook page, I've seen quite a few pieces in person and they're outstanding.

  3. Been talking to Heads Up Composites about making a cowl hood for our trucks. They're on board to produce a fiberglass 4" bolt on or pin on cowl hood for either 03-05 and 06-07. Hoods will be around $450 for a bolt on, $350 for a pin on; we will need at least 5 people to be committed to start the process. We have a few on board on Performance trucks, but it wouldn't hurt to have a few more.

I don't have any pictures as of yet, hope to have a mold done by the end of the week. I will update this thread when the pictures come through.

Again, please post questions and if you're interested here. Thank you.

  4. There is a guy on Facebook trying to do a group buy. Tim ken front hubs for our trucks with 5x4.75 bolt pattern. Will be a bolt on swap, haven't decided which rotor/caliper to use. Tim ken will call him Monday with pricing.

If anyone is interested let me know, I'll update the thread with more info when I have it.
