  1. Hello all,

So I came across a guy selling a brand new never used set of powerstop drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic brake pads and powder coated red calipers. Problem is, they're for a 2002 Tahoe 4wd

Now I'm pretty sure my truck is the EXACT same as the Tahoe, I drive a 2003 Silverado Z71.

However, when I compare the two products, the Tahoe actually ends up being a different part number. I guess they're a little bit bigger, as you can tell in the specs from the links.

My questions are, number one, can I fit these on my truck, and number two, would this be considered an upgrade since they're larger?

    Thanks guys!

This is for the front brakes only

    EDIT:

Oh my god I'm stupid I was reading the rear specs.

But that brings another good point up, if I upgrade to the rear pads for my rear will it work? Perform better?

  2. Any Exhaust pro's here?

I'm looking for a set of ebay headers, but I know the design matters for performance. Any idea if I can bolt up my stock cats and exhaust to these?

Also, can someone link me to the best functioning headers they can find on Ebay? Preferably under $400.

Thanks so much everyone, yall are going above and beyond for me and I really appreciate it.

  3. Appreciate all the responses so far!

I'm starting relatively slow, Keeping each upgrade under $400-$600. My ultimate plan is to save my cash during the winter (I'm in New England so my current cash is being allocated to a full slotted/drilled rotor set up w/ ceramic pads and A/T's for my 22'' 's.

I have heard a TON about the E-Fans, are they truly all they're cracked up to be? I've heard that they not only free up space and help the engine breath, but they have been reported to increase MPG slightly? Not to mention they get rid of the horrendous steel bars behind my grill.

I've also done the plugs and wires, I got iridium plugs and whatever wires they came with, that surprisingly made a killer difference.

I think I am going after a tune next. Does anyone have any recommendations? (I'm not looking for stupid tunes that are going to blow my truck up, trust me, had a friend seize a 7.3 diesel in his ford because of a tune)

  4. Hey all!

So I know it's not an SS or VHO motor, but I have a 5.3 that I'm planning on doing up, and was wondering the best bang for the buck mods.

It's got your typical CAI, cat back exhaust, all that nonsense, but I've been hearing a lot of talk about cam swaps in these motors, and to be honest i have NO clue what the best cam for this motor would be.

The truck's a 2003 silverado Z71 Extended Cab. I have a Corvette Servo on the way that should be installed by next week. I'm a college student, money's tight but not too tight, as I make good cash at the moment.

My question for you guys is, what should I do to this thing? Nothing would satisfy me more than to blow away half the ricers in my town while I'm in a full size truck.

  5. I've checked out ebay, and call me a perfectionist but those parking lights would fit my truck perfectly, just the way they're cut straight across on the top and bottom. Here are some that I've found which are extremely similar, but they're not cut on the bottom like his.

Those ones are almost exactly them, but his didn't have the amber on the sides.

Thank you again for everyone helping here. I really appreciate it, and I'm pretty happy that I found a new hangout :)
