  1. Wow, except for the goofy looking license plate and ugly wheels looks good. If you took a stack of hondos I bet he might take a little less. Go find you a used motor and a couple week ends worth of work and flip it..... you could make yourself a few bucks!
  2. Post was from 2014 so if I had to guess probably not....
  3. The caps are the same. Trucks never came with 22s so it is a copy. They should accept the OE cap.
  4. Have you checked your wheel bearing? Very common problem especially with miles....
  5. Welcome. Nice to see another F body owner on here. I think there are several folks on here with both. I haven't figured out a way to post from my iPhone to the site. I send a low res pic to my computer and then post up that way.
  6. If you EVER plan to sell the truck you may want to reconsider... because doing so will make it almost sale proof.... I've seen a few painted inside and well... its an acquired taste.
  7. Welcome and post some pics when you get a chance.
  8. Not to sound like a broken record but goto Rock auto. They sell the factory parts (AC Delco). You can buy the door actuators there. I looked and they also sell an aftermarket one for less. They also list deferent ones and give their location. Not sure about the quality of the aftermarket ones....and if it was me I would stick with the original part. It's kind of a pain in the a$$ to get to them. Use a good quality part so your not back in there in 6 months doing the same job. If you decide to goto a dealer your paying a parts guy for his knowledge and his catalog as he will get you the right part. Good luck!
  9. Most likely it was a "support vehicle" and not an actual pace vehicle. Sure way to tell would be to look for add on wiring holes drilled in lights where strobes used to be etc. if not then you have a used truck... Pace vehicles may be worth more to the right person but in 100% stock form with all the decals intact. Even then your playing to a limited audience. Most pace vehicles I've seen (my experience is with camaros used as parade cars at Indy) is most people don't care and can't stand the decals and remove them. You need to find that 1 in a million person who likes the tacky "look at me" decals.....
  10. Good lord... that thing is a mess... It's also not an '06. Look at the roof... two antenna's.
  11. I'm Don't know much about break pads..... I can tell you which "brake" pad is best though IMHO. On the 2006 up trucks with the twin piston GM used PBR brake pads. I bought mine from Rock Auto when I did my pads last year. They sell AC delco stuff which is OE. From what I find their prices usually run cost plus 10% which is about as good as your gonna find.... Years ago that's the deal I got when I worked at a dealer. With brakes you get what you pay for. I work for a Truck OEM and I manage brake products. Typically O.E friction is your best balance between wear and performance. Some stuff is super aggressive and will wear the rotor or drum excessively. On the other end of the spectrum the stuff is super soft has lots of dust and wear prematurely.
  12. Here's a really nice low mile example..... http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=d631&radius=50000&zip=28214&sourceContext=RecentSearches_false_0&isRecentSearchView=true#listing=142764322
  13. Hard to tell from pic but is there witness marks like it was plugged in before?
  14. Its a crappy job... you have to rip dash apart. Its best to use fluorescent die with a black light it glows so you can easily see. My guess if you smelled out front that you have a hole in the condenser... again black light is your friend if you used dye.
  15. The didn't say I liked it only that the LS makes it better.... Guys are stuffing them in everything these days.... That truck is for someone with more money than brains. That or they have a small member so they have to show off to all their friends that mine is better than yours.... Lol
  16. Could be the evaporator in the cab.... Need to keep looking you just haven't found yet. Also you might have taken a rock to your condenser and have a hole in it.
  17. I had my wheels off and the factory SS wheels were made in the US. GM has moved a lot of the sourcing for their wheels offshore (china). Heck most everybody has... there were a few companies that made rims in the US but I think all have left except the really high end stuff. Is there a problem with them that you want to replace them?
  18. Hugh... Dang it's cool I'm jealous. I thought about buying a black one and painting but have not gotten around to. My first new car was a s10 xtreme back in the day. I bought a bowtie like the one you have from an earlier ss s10. I've always been a fan of the black and red bowtie. I just noticed you have two antenna on your roof. You sure yours is an 06? The 2006 had the shark antenna only on the driver side. Also what is that white stuff? Lol

    Coolant leak

I would replace ALL the hoses! I had a "mystery" leak and found it was the upper radiator hose. My truck only has mid 50K miles and I replaced them, I figured they were 10 years old. Over time the rubber breaks down and with that many miles I would start there. These motors are not know for head gasket problems.... http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/87705-mystery-coolant-leak/
  20. I've never heard of a cluster causing a draw. Do you have any aftermarket equipment that is tapped into the same circuit? I guess it "may" be possible that a stuck stepper motor could cause the draw. I think the way the circuit is designed it doesn't have power after you key off. That is a weird one.... If I think of anything else I'll let you know.
  21. Unfortunately you never get out what you have in them.... I think someone mentioned above most banks won't finance such an old vehicle and the person who may be able to afford an older rig doesn't have that kind of cash sitting around. A person might get a loan through a credit union as they are a little more lenient on loans on an older rig. Thats the problem with older late model stuff. I'm not saying it's not worth what your asking if not more but getting the deal done is the hard part. I would try and get in as many places to find the right buyer. Have you tried autotrader, Hemings and other online listing places? Trying on here and craigslist are not the best places imho.
  22. What is that bow tie from? I've been looking for one of those!!!
  23. Welcome! I'm partial to the 2006s I have a red one!
