  1. I would just call the company and ask them! But I see no reason why you would want to put those on a 2wd truck? To me they look like they are more for lifted trucks where your stressing the front end with oversized tires etc. I think you would be wasting your money because looking at them I bet they cost twice what oem is so why not just go with the GM stuff? The only time I take my 2wd off road is when I back onto my lawn accidentally..... Lol.
  2. I have a Chevy beretta for sale with a manual. It's old but cheap super clean and super reliable.
  3. X2 yeah buy Timken if you insist on going aftermarket or go OE with AC Delco. It's one of those jobs while easy you don't want to do again in a year or two because you bought a cheap one.....
  4. Found this one... Small wheels screams old dude. http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?sourceContext=RecentSearches_false_0&newSearchFromOverviewPage=true&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=c1909&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity2=c7772&zip=28214&distance=50000&searchChanged=true&showNegotiable=true&modelChanged=true&filtersModified=true#listing=126485039
  5. I think what your going to find is unlike a SS most were used as intended and driven and not a garage queen. A year ago I found a nice crew GMC that was red with lower ish miles like 70k. You could tell it was owned by an old dude.... Had a canopy lol. You might want to consider looking at a Denali too but then you get AWD. I was hell bent on a 2wd as I didn't want the headaches of a AWD/4wd drive truck. That and I live in the south where I don't need it for bad weather. Keep looking and don't get to discouraged I sure one is out there just gotta find one that most likely an old dude had that didn't drive much. Use autotrader, car gurures and the like....
  6. When I was looking for my truck I considered getting an ISS briefly but I would have done the same thing. I am not a DE fan (don't hate me) and thought it was a bit gaudy and over the top. I like the spoiler but I can't stand the head rests, side badges etc. and was planning to remove and store the parts I look off. To each their own which is why they make different favors right!
  7. I think they are somewhat hard to come buy. Most I have seen have been "used up".
  8. Funny I saw that one.... Red flag for me was that the hood needs to be repainted. Interesting it has had a checked past but for the kind of money it should have all the stuff like COA etc.
  9. In order to inspect (and I would just replace) the seal you need to separate the t-case from the trans. If you trans fluid level goes down and your t-case over fills that is your problem.
  10. I doubt it. You need to follow to make sure the hose is routed correctly should run up your firewall, It will have a plastic cap looking thing which is the actual vent. Did you make sure to put a gasket between the t-case and trans? I would also check and or replace the t-case input seal... a very common failure point. The trans is under pressure and it will overfill the t-case. Also did you inspect case to make sure there were no pin holes? They are also known for wearing pin holes in the case and then fluid leaking out. Also what did you use to seal the halves together? I like using GM anaerobic sealer, its what your "supposed" to use... its expensive for a tube but it is the best in my opinion. Others may say RTV or whatever is ok but I disagree...
  11. I think your asking why you would smell coolant in engine area but see no visible leaks? I had same issue on my 2006 SS. As a preventive maintenance item I replaced EVERY coolant hose as they were 9 years old even though truck only had 48k. I found that one of my hoses was leaking ever so slightly. When I removed the hose you could see the white dried coolant residue. If your hoses haven't been replaced I would do it. I also took the opportunity when I had hoses off to replace the t stat and the plastic connectors at the heater core as well. I also refilled with fresh Dex Cool as the coolant looked original and I don't think previous owner had ever serviced cooling system. I finally topped it off with a new pressure cap. I got most my parts at Rock Auto (I bought all AC Delco) but had to get the plastic heater core nipples at the the dealer as its a GM only item. I tow with mine occasionally and in general don't like being stuck on the side of the road for stupid issues. I am big on preventative maintenance but that is just me.....
  12. I bought a Tekonsha P3... I love it works great on my tandem axle car trailer. It is a little more money but you get what you pay for. I bought mine with the harness so it literally was a 5 minute job plug into the truck on one end and plug into controller... I mounted it low on dash so I didn't drill any holes into the dash. It comes with a quick dismount so you can remove easily and can unplug from the controller easily. I remove it from the truck when I am not using so nobody is tempted to break in.... comes with a nice pouch to put it in when its not installed. http://www.tekonsha.com/products/brake-controllers/proportional-controllers/p3-/TzaIxkVx1cI5XOy!osRB55TR19SXShj4
  13. Yeah you should have included that in the first post. It seems a little high considering mileage. For the kind of money he is asking it should have nearly new tires. All maintenance history and should be all up to snuff of maintenance and should be detailed like it's fresh off the showroom for that kind of coin. Just my 2 cents. At the end of the day i used to have a saying.... People would ask me if they got a good "deal" on a car purchase. Only one person it matters to if you got what you want and you think you paid a fair price then yes you got a good deal.
  14. I wouldn't touch the third brake light. Sounds like a water leak waiting to happen. I have mounted xm radio antenna on the dash of several vehicles and it works flawless about 98% of the time. I did this back in the day on a classic work truck I had when I was still with generous mother. I just ran antenna through defroster vent and routed back to stock radio. It was a bare bones 2500 reg can work truck. I'm not sure if someone makes an adapter from factory to aftermarket head unit. I'm sure there is just google it.
  15. I paid about that a year ago for my just reagular 2006 SSS. Sometimes if you want to buy a nice truck you need to spend a little more and " pay all the money" for a nice example. Mine had 48k on it when I bought it. I have been looking since and haven't seen a red 06 like mine with low miles. So did j pay more than I wanted.... Yes but I got what I wanted.
  16. You may want to try the dealer. LMC buys from a dealer and marks up so if you like paying another level of markup you can try them.
  17. I've seen that floor coating and it is NICE... a bit pricy though. I am not going to do on a house until I know I'm going to stay for a while. Getting transferred around every two years is hard I don't want to put money into a house I know I will be leaving... lol
  18. Now that is a SAD SS....
  19. Welcome. Nothing wrong with a F body SS and a Silverado SS! I have both also.... My 35 anv has 13k on it so I don't drive much. Lol.
  20. Sorry to hear about your poor experience. Have you filed a complaint with the BBB? It isn't much but it may save others some heartache.
  21. Totally off topic but I like your garage floor!
  22. I would go buy a AWD truck. Between all the parts, time, module and wiring you have a large project ahead of you to say the least.....
  23. I HATE lifted trucks... looks stupid IMHO... the SS is a Sport truck for crying out loud. When you put mudders on a SS it means super slow.... not super sport!
  24. One word..... Why? Actually I figured it out these have the not often seen "small member" package.... http://www.keithsautosales.com/mobile/vehicles/2gcek19n931336498-2003-chevrolet-silverado-1500-extended-cab-ss-pickup-4d-6-1-2-ft-used-penn-laird-va.htm And http://www.independenceautos.com/seattle-truck-center-inventory/detail/2003-Chevrolet-Silverado-SS-Ext-Cab-1435-WB/1143/2GCEK19N231327545/~/Make_~Model_/14
