Here ya go.... GM#17801346 http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm?singlepart=1&AddPartNumber=17801346&partnumber=17801346 I WAS going to get that one I am like you and only use GM stuff all the way....but I changed my mind for a few reasons.... I am now going to get the Volant with Donaldson power core. I want a dry filter... which is one reason either one of these is a good choice. Speaking from experience... (my GM days) I can see them discontinuing the paper filter (that you would need to replace) at some point... then you have a worthless CAI. That is total speculation on my part but GM likes to disco old accessories. The Donaldson is rated for 4 year or 100k in city driving... plus Donaldson is the OE filter on the Dmax and they are huge in the heavy duty truck industry which is what I work in now. The Volant is owned by the same company that makes Corsa and they make quality stuff... not that the other CAI's are bad but I like their stuff.
  2. Well apparently someone didn't mind that this dude couldn't use spell check.... He sold it.
  3. That would mean repainting the gate and I like to leave factory paint alone as much as possible Well that answers that question thanks. Guess this thing is all original
  4. I noticed the other day when I was washing truck the tail gate handle has a "grain" vs the door handles are smooth. Is this normal or I'm thinking it was replaced? How is your truck?
  5. Or you could move to where they don't get snow like I did! LOL
  6. Yes it was an expensive option that didn't last long. Kind of like quadra steer they were neat ideas way ahead of their time. I wouldn't be surprised you see composite boxes come back to save weight for cafe someday. It was sold as will never rust or dent so you didn't need a bedliner.
  7. Apparently knows nothing about selling a car!
  8. Well I looked last night in my poster stash. I haven't been able to locate them... I am second guessing myself now. There is one poster tube that I haven't found yet but its not looking good. Like I said it was a little foggy it was a long time and 5 moves ago.... lol. I'll keep looking.... on the flip side I found a bunch of Camaro, Corvette and small block posters.... just no SSS posters.
  9. I see but I would worry about e100 attacking rubber in the fuel system. You might be able to run it but you will have to change fuel maps....
  10. Best of my knowledge an SS truck is not setup from the factory to run e85.
  11. You need to have a vehicle that is compatible. I don't think a E85 truck that is setup would run that. In most older engines they are not rated for anything above like E10 you will have all kind of driveability problems. The problem is alcohol burns at a different rate then gas. Your injectors and fuel pump can't give enough "fuel" and it will run like garbage. Plus if your fuel system is not designed for E85+ it will attack the fuel system. I will never forget once had a customer try e85 in a cobalt (not designed for) ran like crap setting check engine light and had to pay to drain tank as is was not a warranty problem.....
  12. For some reason I think I have a few but it is a little foggy. Stay tuned
  13. Will do... I know where my poster box is I need to dig it out of the spare bedroom.
  14. Your going to have to start by doing some good ol diagnosis. You might want to start with a good volt meter to do a draw test. Start checking individual circuits setup and test overnight. My guess is if you have a bunch of aftermarket stuff that would be a place to start. There is no easy way to track down problems like your having...... It almost sounds like something is maybe wired up weird and could be keeping a module from going "asleep"..... Have seen it before where something was back feeding power and would cause a drain overnight.
  15. I'll try and watch it to see what's on it. Now I need one of those machines that converts to a dvd.
  16. I found this in a box of old work stuff. I kind of remember ordering this back in 2003. Too bad I don't have a VCR hooked up at the house... guess I need to find it now. Its still in the wrapper! If I recall I ordered a "bunch" of Silverado SS posters also. Now the search begins....
  17. Not so... look here. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/62972-ss-silverado-exhaust-tips-gm-oem-new/
  18. I'm trying to contact this guy about another part he had listed but so far no response. Maybe someone on here knows who this guy is or how to contact?
  19. I got you... I used to work for Corp GM and then for a dealer for a while. I'm like you wanted to get a fair price for one. I lucked out and found one with 48K (but I paid all the money)..... I'm a fan of the 2wd ones though...
  20. Looks like a pretty clean truck.. Common problems... wheel hubs, leaking oil/trans cooler lines, power window motors and blower motor/resistors. Otherwise pretty bullet proof trucks, that's why I bought one.
  21. Yep I saw that one. I was thinking the same thing. I need to head to a salvage yard and want to take a look at one with filter. See if I can adapt the factory door. Heck they are old enough I might be able to find one at the car guys fun center the local you pull it. I was curious if anyone on here had done mod that's all. I have HORRIBLE allergies and like the thought of reduced dust. I will update once I look into more but I think I will wait to hit the junk yard until it warms up.
  22. Have you tried a recycler (aka junkyard) in your area? There are millions of GM trucks out there and the covers are all the same if you want used....
  23. Yeah but I thought I saw a post where someone bought just the "tip"..... like I said all I can find it the whole tail pipe.
  24. Ok I searched the site and found nothing but did find on the 'ol interweb some guys on another truck forum did a cabin filter retrofit. I like the idea... just wondering if I can fab myself or should buy this guys kit.... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/76-speciality-forums/83-interior/48973-cabin-air-filter-retrofit-kits-now-available.html or this one... http://customgm.com/site-news/4485-customgm-com-silverado-sierra-cabin-air-filter-retrofit.html
