  1. Hello Members. I happened to snag an NGK AFX on the cheap and NIB. Will work on getting HPtuners Pro soon, but did a tidy install on the WB. Sensor is mounted on the passenger side about 6in. down from the original O2 and rotated about 60 degrees inward so the two sensors are not inline. Buttoned the exhaust up with new o-ring gaskets and do not detect any leaks at that joint. Followed up with the fresh air calibration. Typically what I see on the display is 14.35 - 14.55. It wanders up to 14.7 then bounces down or it wander down to 14.25 then bounces up. This is at idle and hwy speeds. My question: Is this nornal from the display cause it may not read as fast a computer would. Or should the reading be more inline with 14.68 and I need to look else where for a problem. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  2. I also had the Extang RT. And had the same problems with the suction behind the cab unfastening the velcro. I will say Extang has great customer support, cause after 1-1/2 years, they replaced it with an upgraded cover. No charge, no shipping. I went with the Extang Express. It sits a little higher(about 1"), but the velcro mounted on a 45 degree rail is very snug. I'm happy.

    IAT

Thanks Krambo, My newb question to tuning was "when I unplug my MAF to log a scan utilizing the low octane table why does my IAT go offline?" So to get around this, does only zeroing my MAF fail high frequency serve the purpose?
  5. According to HP Tuners, it takes a different device to flash the guage cluster.
  6. Mine was replace at 47k after the warranty was up. Dealers service dept. told me it was covered til 60k. They flashed my gauge cluster with the current milage and it did not change my Westers tune. Only problem is that the tach reads 125 rpms higher than usual. I'm quite sure it's just this one cluster but it was double checked with a scan tool.

    It's ON!

The "punk" got a used S-10 and said he was saving for an 08 Challenger. Thats O.K. I'm saving for my 09 Camaro right now and keeping my SSS to boot.

  10. I'm in Fairfield, halfway between Tyler and Waco.
  11. You are correct. The "LiL Man" (consumer) will always pay and pay and pay.
  12. Go to your service dept. They can flash the PCM with a changed perameter and cut the brightness by 50%
  13. Mine also did this. With no warranty left went to dealership anyway. They said this is a known problem at GM and they would cover it up to 60K. But it would be a refurbished cluster / no charge.

  15. Mine was the first installed from my local dealership. 46k miles. No Charge.
  16. Red, Welcome from Buffalo. I play at Prairie Hill Dragway a few times a year. Maybe catch you there sometime.
  17. K&N FIPK... No problems and noticable improvement to performance.
  18. 10% Ethanol replaces the MTBE additive once used in gasoline. If I remember correctly, MTBE was linked to long term enviromental contamination.

    Top Speed

A handheld GPS on the dash tells all. A Wester tune only got me 132.7 mph. It feels like it was limited there in 3rd.
