  1. got mine from jasper engine and transmission. brand new with beffed up gears and bearings about 900 after core and came with a 100k mile warranty which was the biggest selling point. all trans/diff shops i checked out only warrantied the rebuild for 2-3 months or 10k miles.
  2. taylor thundervolt wires are the way to go. installed with pace setter headers and havnt had any issue with them. the driver side back wire sits on the header and havent burn in about 5k miles. plug wires are a matter of opinion but have had good experience with them. My .02 part # from summit racing TAY-79605 Spark Plug Wires, 409 Pro Race, Spiro-Wound, 10.4mm, Blue, Stock Boots, Chevy, GMC, 4.8/5.3/6.0L, V8, Set (Mfr. #: 79605)

mine wasn't on the back of the tank fireman... it was bolted to the frame right in front of the tank right where the cab & bed separate. Do you know if the updated kit GM suggest per the bulletin will work? I don't see why it would fail that quickly as I replaced everything with the exact same parts (except for the box that the hose connects to been told its a charcoal canister) my question is I though the little square box was the charcoal canister? any ideas?
  7. sanders, I had the same problem. Apparently on the 03 silverados they were a different part all together for the GM bulletin. is the one you took off square not cylindrical? I am curious because I replaced it with the same exact part and CEL came back on the next day... did you replace it with the one asset showed a picture of?

all a/c Delco on the parts. I'm thinking that could be the culprit as its the only thing I haven't changed. would the smoke test be able to tell if it is the problem?

we've had a lot of snow down here in dallas a couple of months ago but nothing since I replaced the part a couple of weeks ago. IYO do you think it has already failed? let me input some back ground info. It first had a P0442 code which is why I began replacing all the EVAP parts. Well didn't fix it so I dropped the fuel tank to find that whoever was into it last I guess replaced the fuel pump but didn't put the locking ring on all the way so the spring loaded mechanism was keeping the fuel tank from sitting flush on the tank. It was up about 5 inches. I dumped tank, completely cleaned out, cleaned up fuel pump, and reinstalled properly lol. Code stayed off a couple days then returned with the 0446 code. should I just go ahead and do the smoke test? is there a way to test those pesky solenoids for functionality? I can hear a pretty loud wisle so to speak coming from under the cab right in that general area. so frustrating. thanks again for the input does anyone know what the box that the hose from the solenoid goes to? I posted pic of it in original post.

Hello, guess i'll start with introductions. had a RCSB that I was making a SS out of but some drunk hit me and totaled it... but on the bright side their insurance paid for my new 03 SSS haven't had much trouble with the truck till recently and I LOVE it. to the original title. I have searched every where on this site and the old innerweb for answers but keep coming up empty. I have a P0446 code and its throwing a CEL. I have replaced the evap solenoid (mine is an 03 so it has the square box) and the purge valve, checked all lines with no obstructions, replaced the gas cap (twice), and still getting the code I have read and read about this stupid code and I see that there is a campaign from GM for this but I have noticed that the update kit contains a cylindrical solenoid along with the relocation box. i replaced the Evap solenoid with the same thing a week ago so doubt that it would fail in that little of time... but who know with this EVAP crap. also if some one could tell me wth this thing is and what it controls I would appreciate it. Was going to take it into a shop to get a smoke test done but figured I'd feel you fellas out first. any help you could provide is greatly appreciated. thanks, -W
