  1. Truck was tuned for a 3k stall, but the shift solenoids werent taken out of it
  2. Got my truck back from the transmission shop about a month ago with a rebuilt trans(with better internals) & a 3000 stall This past week i had an issue with the shift solenoids not allowing the truck to go into overdrive and messing with the shifts. Well now when i try to drive it in 1 or 2 because drive is not working there is a loud squealing noise coming from the transmission or transfer case. I am wondering what this could be and if it would be as simple as clearing the codes from the truck and deleting out the codes on the tune. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. I ended up having to take the longtube off on the passanger side and get at it with a vice grips and an easy out since it was snapped off in the block. This ended up breaking it before the o-ring and the rest of the tube fell into the pan. Lots of swearing and too much work just to get a new dipstick tube. Thanks for the help guys!
  4. the whole dipstick tube snapped at the block due to rust... so not that easy!
  5. I have an 03 SS and i had the dipstick tube break off on me! I need some advice on how to get this thing out! I used an easy out and got it free enough to spin but i cannot get the piece out from the top or bottom. Thanks in advance
  6. I have one that i cut off behind the axle, its not polished, you could probably get it to that point though.
  7. i have a set of down-pipes with the cats with only 20,000 miles on them before they were taken off of an 05.
  8. From what i have read, they put in one quart of trans fluid with the other five quarts and run it hard for 100 miles and then change the oil... the detergents in the ATF help to clean out the lifters... Still cautious to try this because it just doesn't seem right!
  9. I did try the seafoam trick, but that didnt seem to help. Also i run Mobil 1 full synthetic. I have heard of putting Trans fluid in your oil for 100 miles to try and clean out the lifters?
  10. It is also throwing a knock sensor... which were just replaced at 238k
  11. I have a 2003 Silverado SS... 249k on the clock and she is starting to get a tick in the valve body somewhere. I'm not sure whether it is lifters or not, but are there any solutions to get lifter tick to stop? Figure i should try the cheaper route before i replace anything. Thanks in advance!
