[rear calipers wont release]

It was the calipers. I took all the brake like connections loose in rear. I figured there was a blockage in the line somewhere not letting pressure out. All the connections were hemmorrhaging brake fluid, so I figured that wasn't the case. There must've been corrosion at the bottom of the pistons that were keeping them tight against the pads.They were a little difficult to compress all the way to get the new pads on, and pretty tight going on.  I've had the issue before on a blazer I had, but that was while I was driving one day randomly, and not during a brake job. I also had an issue once on my motorcycle, but that was corrosion in the mastery cylinder for the rear brake. I wouldn't have thought it would've been both at the same time. It was. I replaced both, and everything is working fine now.  Another lesson learned.

I just replaced rear pads and rotors. Now the rear brakes are dragging. I didn't have an issue before I changed the parts. I replaced the rear center flex hose, where the rear left and right split. I was going to change the left and right as well, but they weren't in stock. I know those flex hoses can go bad and get clogged, holding pressure in the calipers. I got the pistons pushed in, and everything was fine until I hit the brakes, then it held the pressure again. Could this be in the master cylinder or ABS valve? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I need to get this resolved tomorrow so I can make my 100 mile commute to work since my daily Subaru tranny took a crap. Thanks

I just searched my order history on rock auto, duh. What I bought before were AC Delco. It says 1500 base model dual piston caliper. I guess I have it figured out now.

I did upgrade my front rotors with the 07 Tahoe rotors/calipers.

And I agree, it can be frustrating finding the right parts at times.  Not all parts lookup databases know about the SS variation.

I looked it up on rock auto. All it tells me is 330mm rotor, not single or dual piston. I guess it narrows it down some though. Thanks again.

Do you know if there are different versions of the 2 piston pads? If I choose one that says 2 piston, will they be correct? Some of the options (maybe all) for 2 piston calipers list that they are for 1500 HD. I guessing they used the 1500 HD calipers on the SS. Maybe the 1500 HD 2 piston calipers are different from the SS 2 piston calipers. I guess I will order some, and return if they dont work

I'm on rock auto trying to buy new rear pads. I've bought them before, but don't remember what I got. Rock auto has so many options, and the descriptions for the brands are all different and confusing. I'm seeing options for HD, quad steer, single/dual piston, 325mm or 330mm rotor, the rears are the same as the front for some. I know for sure they are two piston, because I looked. Are the brakes on the SS the same as the HD. Are the only options either single or dual piston? If so, that narrows it down. I'll know that i just need pads for dual piston calipers. I don't see any mention of SS anywhere on the site. Thanks.
