  1. Still fighting the misfire. New plugs, swapped wires and coil packs.  No luck.

Everyone on the FB group says injectors and a new tuner lol so guess I'll pull those and see.

Any recommendations for best Imjectors to potentially replace?

  2. After I get the tune fixed, needs a fresh oil change, I'm picking out some new wheels, and I really think I need to sort something out for brakes. Definately a weak point, not out of the norm for this year i don't think, just needs improvement so open to suggestions there. My raptor on 35s feels more confident in stops.

Got the photo of the Corsa installed finally up here too.

  3. Been way behind on this.

Got the blend mount and R3 mounted, also got some clear headlights and some LEDS all around. These aren't your typical EBAY crap replacement, these are the newest of new, and the light is amazing. Even have a tight cut off similar to HIDS. If you're interested in similar things hit up HotShot Offroad and just tell them you want the same SS replacements. Went with Morimoto's for the low beam, and GTR for high beam. Turn signals, rears, and 3rd all got LED swap. Only downside is for the large fans on the LEDS, i had to trim back into the brackets where the headlights mount, but no noticeable issues with it and the light output is insanely better. Of course i forgot photos through most of the install process, and don't have any outputs ones because of the fun project below. Will come back and update soon.

Settled on Blackbear for tunes, first round went well but we noticed top end was off. We've been slowly going back and forth, found cyl 3 misfiring so she got all new plugs today. Gapped at 035.

I'll say, the drivers side was a fight a bit, passenger was easy until that far back guy, that one can F'off...

Got them all swapped, and on the code its saying cyl 5 is misfiring at idle. so need to pull that one out and re-gap it.

Unrelated to all this, but is this overflow reservoir seem...low? been slowly doing all the upkeep and wasn't sure.

  4. Installed the Corsa exhaust, didn't realize it but part of the system hangs rather low so need to climb under again and see if i have something flipped. Sounds great, pretty happy overall.

Got it ceramic coated, but its dirty this time of year still so no pics. You'd think at 27k miles the paint can't be bad (it wasn't) but damn did it clean up the swirls and a few marks.

Ordered a blend mount but got the wrong part, so that's on return and needs swapped.

  5. Thanks for the link!

Previous owner never mentioned any change in the fuel pump or increased injector size so i need to see. Might just need to look up the old whipple kit and see what it originally came with and refresh myself with the maintenance on them.

  6. Heres a few pics.

Yea I need to do a bit more digging and understand the SC set up and if any other modifications were done. I don't think the fuel pump has been upgraded, and with all the talk of the transmission issues, I tend to baby drive it unless cruising along and give it some gas.

  7. Hey all,

Wanted to share my new toy that I have been wanting to get for 15 long years. My uncle bought one of these when I had just got my licence, and  I've wanted a black SS ever since. Finally found this one for sale years ago, couldn't swing it and the guy decided to not sell it and it was gone. Years later I see the ad pop up again and I jumped on it.

2003 with an original 27K miles. Picked her up from the original owner in MT, and had my dad bring it to me here in ND. Has some small wear in the bed from it being a truck, but the paint looks great, cowl hood (unsure brand?) and she's already whipple'd with what I am assuming is an older model that i need to do more research on.

Right now I am just living my dream cruising it around with my family (dog included), but have some goals to make it more of what Chevy should have done.

    Performance:

    • Already whippled, but need to do research on upkeep/maintenance
    • Really need a tune. Its been on the original tune since installed new. Any input?
    • Exhaust - would like a daily/streetable exhaust. Maybe custom something up with cut outs similar to my 09 Z06? Anyone?
    • Headers worth it?
    • 4L80 swap eventually? Hopefully find something more modern by then?
    • Eventually if/when this motor bites we will go 408 built or if play funds allow maybe try an LSX build, lots of reading to do there. I don't plan on ever letting this one go so lots of time to plan.

    Suspension:

    • Stock is alright for now, but will need to address this eventually. Probably keep the stock height, roads here are uneven and not great plus i want to be able to drive it year round if i want. Something jus to tighten things up a bit.

    Body

    • Wheels, eventually. Haven't found anything i love yet. I like the old Joe Gibbs set ups.
    • Tires to match
    • If I can find a Intimidator spoiler taht will happen.
    • Likely get some sort of tonneu cover still.

  8. I am about to part out my SS single cab clone, but before I do I was going to throw this out there. My truck is a black 2006 z71 4x4, clean title black with charcoal interior. I have already done that complete SS interior and the seats came from a 30000 mile wrecked truck so they look brand new. I installed brand new GM carpet and have a brand new GM steering wheel with buttons ready to install. I have SS door panels that control the heated seats perfectly. I also spent about $1,000 on the door speakers, the amp, and Dynamat in the whole truck. This can all be seen in my build thread. I have the complete cladding all OEM and new from GM parts except for a couple which I got used that have been modified to fit a single cab. I also have all original brackets and bumpers and a completel Intimidator front end. The truck looks nearly new. I have the magnacharger and LS6 motor with only 40,000 miles installed and a brand new built 4l80 with the Circle D triple disc converter. I have probably somewhere in the mid $30,000 range into this truck as it sits. It made 450 wheel horsepower on 6 PSI. The truck needs to be assembled to be finished but there isn't really anything left to buy. It has arh headers and Corsa exhaust which sound insanely awesome. I can't even begin to list everything, because I don't want to spend a half-hour typing this out. I would take $18,000 for the truck but you will need to bring your own wheels. If anyone is interested and wants to talk, PM me and I'll give you my phone number and we can spend an hour on the phone with me telling you everything done to it. I cannot stress OEM enough. This thing was built pretty much with no expense spared on my part. I'm going to take the drivetrain out this weekend and start parting the truck out if no one buys it because honestly I will make more money. But again if anyone is interested and wants to save me the time of taking it apart I would take $18,000 and not a penny less. Someone could buy this and part it out and throw stock parts back on (which would be easy since the cladding is still uninstalled) then still have an $11k truck to sell. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks, Sam.

So is it still 4x4? Or do you have a link to the build?
