I ended up being able to save my axle. Took it to a machine shop.

Be careful...I did a search on on our 2 systems nationwide, and all the trucks that were listed as having a 9.5, and showed the VIN, were inventoried incorrectly. They were all 8.6's. Only 05-07 got the hybrid axles. Run the VIN of the truck they have and make sure it was an SS, V-Max, or had the AXN option.

I received the axle today and it was incorrect. Fit loose on the ring gear end it.
One on the left is the one I removed my truck. On the right is GM #88967013
Hopefully dutchman axles can make me one

Why not call a local wrecking yard?
No one has one.
Ended up ordering online after finding out GM discontinued the part.

Looking for a rear axle, DR/PSGR it doesnt matter.
03-06 9.5" Rear End.
Or the correct part number, even my local dealer sold me the incorrect one.

Finally got some wheels for her. 24" LTZs, 275/30/24
Going to add some 2" Drop Spindles and play a bit with the keys to lower it 1.5" to still have some squat but bring the front down a bit.

Sorry should have clarified, I meant the cost to install. I have heard C notching the frame adds a lot more labor costs.
I did all the labor myself. I can definitely see how a shop will charge you a decent amount to notch it.

How much that run you? I know the C notch adds a lot to the cost..

To MY liking, it rides great considering the amount of drop.
I used the belltech C notch, my truck doesnt bottom out anywhere. I wouldnt thinking twice about doing a 3/5 if I were you.

Whats up fellas, My name is Luis. Currently living in South, FL. New owner of a Victory Red 05' SS, 129k.
Pretty much bone stock other than a DJM/Belltech 3/7 Drop kit from Norcal SS.
20" Stocks, 245/50's
It was AWD, I converted it to RWD. Upgraded to a 9.5" Rear end and kept my disc brakes.

I've searched endlessly and haven't found someone with my issue. Hoping someone has ran across this before.

DS Runout is fine. Fluid is fine. It happened out of nowhere, no strange noises. Once I got off the highway I came to a stop at a light. Once it turned green, I accelerated and noticed my RPMs climbing higher than usual and the transmission hadn't shifted. I let off the throttle and it shifted fine, no clunking or anything.
