  1. I can see where this setup was a problem as it would stick out 1/2" farther than the SS reps with the +30 offset.
  2. Thank you guys for replying so quickly and confirming the 22x10 +30mm offset does actually fit our 03-06 trucks. I will be contacting the vendor about their questioning the fitment of the SS reps even though they come up as an option when you search for wheels specific to my truck. Fast4popper, are your 29 and 22 offset wheels 10" or 9.5" wide? As you know an offset without a width does not mean much. Thanks for the help!
  3. What offset 22"x10" SSS Rep is everyone putting on their SS Silverados with 305/40/22 tires? It may seem like a silly question but I'm getting conflicting information. I ordered 22x10" SS reps in a +30mm offset and they are telling me the offset is tucked in too much and I will have rubbing on the inside of my stock height '03 Silverado SS. But isn't that the same size and offset everyone else with reps is running on their trucks? They are telling me I need a +15 to +20mm offset for my truck. They claim the +30mm offset is only for 2007 and up trucks. Is this true? I'm guessing the wheels are not in stock and they are hoping I will just order something else. Please help me end the confusion on the +30mm offset. Thanks!
  4. Got it, Thanks!! I had that noisy fan out in less than 2 min with your tips. I lubricated the fan shaft and the motor bushing and popped it right back into place in no time. It was quiet right after I reinstalled it, but I'll test it in the morning after sitting in the cold garage overnight at 20 deg, that is the true test. FYI (to help others with the same problem) the part is called an ASPIRATOR any my part number is 15029252 ($23 @ GM parts direct) that has been replaced by part number 25771194 ($28 @ GM parts direct). I also took some pictures of the parts during disassembly to help fellow SSS members out.
  5. Are you talking about the plastic circular grill with the holes in it that is right above your head? (looks like a speaker grill) Remove that first from the bottom side of the headliner before reaching above the headliner to remove the fan assembly? If so do I just pull on the grill piece or is there any twisting or prying involved? As for the headliner it's good to hear I do not have to remove the A-Pillar trim or the driver's side sun visor to get enough space above the headliner to reach my arm in and get to the fan assembly. Thanks for the tips, I appreciate it!!
  6. Could you please elaborate on just how to remove the fan so I can lube the shaft and get rid of the cold morning buzz? What all did you do to get above the headliner to remove the fan? Remove trim, whole headliner, or just loosed the drivers side headliner? Any tips or pictures would be appreciated.
  7. I have the one with the bulbus resonator growth looking think on the inlet tube and it whistles under moderate acceleration.
  8. Nice car but I agree paint the lower silver trim black and get a custom EFILive tune to wake that sucker UP!! It is amazing what you can do with a little timing adjustment, shift point adjustments and reduction of the performance robbing torque management.
  9. Glen, welcome and do you have any pictures of the bruhed silver emblems installed on a Silverado SS truck you can post up? Maybe on a red truck by chance? Close up and a little farther back at different angles? Greg
  10. Yep, that pretty much sums it up.>>>>>>
  11. It says Bonspeed right on the centercap. Nice wheels BTW.
  12. Seriously, I don't want this to become a "Mine Is better than your muffler" kind of post. I just wanted to give people something to look at ....... ah....... pretty pictures. Besides on my stock 6.0L It doesn't really matter if one flows another 5 or 10 cfm over another right? So this post is obviously not for guys like yourself with mega engine mods. It's all good though. ;)
  13. Hey guys, I forgot I took these pictures before I installed the Corsa Sport cat-back on my SSS last summer and thought people considerng this exhaust might like to see how the muffler is made. I think it is funny to read comments on the various boards like "The Corsa exhaust does not flow very good just look at the size of the muffler, it's as big as the stock one." or "My Flowmaster 40 out flows the Corsa Muffler just look how big it is" They have obviously not seen the inside of the Corsa muffer to see it is sraight through or have an understanding on just how the RSC system works w/o internal packing or baffles. Hopefully the pics will help a little in understanding how the muffler works. Of course just wanting the Flowmaster sound is understandable as I have owned 8 of them on various other vehicles in the past, so obviously I do not mind a Flowmaster either. (Don't want to start a "My muffler is better than yours debate with this post) ;) I am by no means a Corsa pusher but we do have one on the wife's 2001 SS Camaro and one on my SSS truck and have been quite happy with both of them. Even wth Longtube headers and a off-road y-pipe on the wife's car the exhaust is mellow (read drone free) on the highway at 70 mph, but screams at WOT on the outside. Personally I love the GMMG chambered exhaust on my SS Camaro with LT's and 3" ORY pipe but wouldn't want to listen to that much exhuast volume every morning on my way to work in the Silverado. So the Corsa Sport is a nice compromise, quiet on the inside and roars on the outside under WOT. Muffler Inlet end ............ Notice the single holes one on the top and one on the bottom near the inlet for the sound waves to enter. Muffler outlet end ......... notice the same two holes near the outlet end along with the rectangle windows to allow the reflected sound to cancel out the highway droan. Muffler Cut-Away................. the inlet is on the RH side of the picture. Note: The grinding marks around the internal holes were done by me to remove any welding boogers, I did not want to take a chance on having a whistle while under WOT. Greg
  14. I don't think you will be able to get that much for it, at least not around here IMO. last July my father purchased his 2005 SSS fully loaded (XM, Chrome Wheels, etc.) plus a bed mat, bed cover, vent visors and more with only 2,200 miles for $28,000. Granted it doesn't have the nav stuff but that's not going to be worth 4-5K extra. Good Luck but I think you are already upside down on your loan.
  15. Nice! Definately looks better that the round ones you had before.
  16. The guy eating the Big ASS Hamburger made me laugh out loud!!
  17. The first coupe are nice but I don't know much abuot them quality wise. If you are going to spend that much coin on some forged wheels then you have lots of options. (EDIT) I posted lots of pics but didn't want to ruin your thread so if there are too many I will gladly edit this post if you wish, just let me know. ) Have you considered iforged wheels? They can make them up to 12 " wide and are very light weight. I have been very happy with my iForged 3pc Aero wheels on my Camaro and iForged was willing to build me custom offsets when HRE and Fikse did not was to varry from their "normal" fittments. iForged Wheels Link Here are a couple options..... Monaco Imola Flux They also offer the 2pc race series in up to 12" widths which don't require the bolts to hold the pieces together. DPE Wheels are also very nice quality wheels to consider. I think they might stop at 10" wide though. DPEs were not available whe I bought the iForged wheels but the would have looked into them if they were. DPE Engineering Link
  18. Seriously guys, thanks for the compliments on the vehicles, I appreciate it very much! It was the passion for the SSS by the members here that helped me get rid of my Avalanche after 2 (boring) years and get a SSS that I always wanted in the first place. Plus my father just had to drive my truck twice before buying his '05 SSS and immediately put his modded Dodge Ram Hemi truck up for sale. He says it was the best thing he has done in a long time. Unfortunately I don't have the suspension lowered yet, headers, or some bling'n chrome wheels................ yet............... like most members here as I am constantly torn between spending money on the truck or the Camaros. It's a tough call as I want to do some more engine work on the Camaro first then the truck will get some more attention. But rest assured the truck is usually very clean and covered with a couple of coats of Zaino to preperly represent the SSS crowd. Zippy I hope to attend the event this year and was wondering just which weekend it was. Also, thanks for the compliment on the grille as I looked long and hard for just the right one for me. I always liked the Precision but never liked the asymetrical look of the lower right corner where they have to put their damn logo. Why must they do things like that Hope everyone has a great 4th of July weekend! Greg
  19. My Camaro and Dad's Berger Chevrolet HotRod Magazine Phase IIx Camaro, it is 1 of 35 made, car number is year 1977. With HOTROD Magazine and GMMG, Berger Chevrolet produced one car to represent each year of Camaro production from 1967 - 2002. Thus the first car was labeled #1967, the second was #1968 and so on. Dad's is the tenth car in the series so it is recorded as car #1977. Dad opted for the Phase IIx High Torque package with 475+hp and 450ft lbs. of torque. He is running ported and milled 5.3L heads with 2.025 valves to raise the compression ratio to 11.5:1, TTS long tube headers, High Flow Cats, GMMG Exhaust, Underdrive pulleys, Ported TB, Larger MAF, Chrome Moly pushrods, Crane Dual Valve springs, CF air lid, Cam-Motion 228,232 deg .593"/.600" Lift cam on 112 deg CL, 3.73 gears, Hotchkis LCAs & STB, B&M cooler, and a Yank SS3600 torque converter. My father's daily driver is a 2005 Black Silverado SS with the chrome wheels, Truxedo Cover, Outlaw CAI, Magnaflow Cat Back, and EFI Live tuning by myself but I do not have any pictures of it right now. So as you can see we are Greg
  20. Hey guys, things seem kind of slow around here lately so lets se if we can liven it up a little. Basically my family is Car Crazy as they say. It's just the way is has always been and here is proof. We just intsalled some 18" Crager wheels on the wife's Blue '01 SS Camaro and I recently added the billet grille to my SSS so I tried to snap a new group photo of our SS collection. The Red SSS is my daily driver, the Black SS is my weekend toy, and the Blue SS is the wife's weekend toy. None are stock and even her SS has FLP Long tube headers, ORY, Corsa exhaust, ASP pulley, FIPK, ported TB, and suspension mods. Gotta love her! All are tuned by myself with EFILive. The truck specs are below and my Camaro has Ceramic Long Tube headers, 3" ORY, GMMG Chambered Exhaust, SLP CME, Ported TB, FIPK, TCS 3600 stall converter, B&M cooler, iForged 3pc Aero Wheels, Koni DA shocks, DMS Springs, ADJ Panhard Rod, Stereo gear and a lot more. These are the only pics I have of the my SS truck but many more of my Camaro and Dad's are located in sig link below. Greg Our tribute to Corsa Exhaust! 21. Glad to hear you got your vibration issues sorted out, but I thought the AWD guys were having the most vibration problems and the 2WD trucks were easy to fix with just the MgGaughy's carrier bearing relocator kit.... right? Sounds like the 2WD's need the carrier bearing and shims too........... Whew, when will this vibration madness stop? LOL Kind of makes me nervous about lowering my AWD SSS, I guess I will just grab a and keep reading these topics until we have a few more success stories.
