  1. Sweet... can't wait to see it run at the track
  2. Lets see some more pics of that rollpan/exhaust setup... thats a great idea... probably my favorite part of the entire truck.
  3. I believe ADM is in Vegas and I hear they do good work... as far as ventura... I can't think of anyone off hand.
  4. My wife always says I think I'm a God... now I have proof
  5. Not feelin the step bars, handles, or headlights... but still looks really good.
  6. I guess it all depends on whether or not the headlights like to take it up the ass from other headlights of the same gender...
  7. something to shoot for Chase... your almost there
  8. Nice Chase... what are you using to fertalize and water your money tree b/c obviously its growing faster than mine Seriously... where did you find the Dougs cut outs and how much were they?? I've been looking for the guillotine style cut outs but all I can find are the damn QTP ones.
  9. Nice collection you got going there... a black TBSS (that'll make the wife happy) and complete the tri-fecta
  10. Agreed. Theres always room for improvement, but it just seems everyone complains about the SS's brakes, when in reality we got a better perfromer in the stopping categorey than any of the other trucks in the segment.
  11. I'll need your address... and the pin code to your bank account please...
  12. I never understood where all these complaints about brakes were coming from... I never had any issue with how the SSS stoped... for its size and weight I thought it actually did damn well. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/pickup...pecs_price.html Its obviously alot better than what the other guys get.
  13. HA... thats one of the places I was thinking of using Alex... So Cal speed referred me there. So I take it you've been happy with the work they've done so far??
  14. DEAR LORD!! You just aren't gonna give up until that thing breaks the sound barrier are you?
  15. I've got a couple of places I can refer you to... I'll shoot you a PM later.
  16. thats a loaded question wax is a protectant, it goes over the paint to provide a sheild from the elements. Wax tends to have a silicone or carnuba wax base that does provide a deep shine, but it offers very little in the way of long term protection. Heat breaks it down quickly just like any 'wax' (think candle in the sun on a summers day) polish is compound that chemically or abbrasively takes a layer off to even the surface out... it can be made of any number of materials. IMO the best thing to do is get a multi-step process (polish and sealer) and the 2 that are the most popular around here are Zaino and DER. I'm a bigger fan of DER, but both do about the same thing. Heres the writeup I did on using DER, trust me... you won't be disappointed with the results http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=13451
  17. a guy over on TBSS.com just posted this pic up of his ride... do you guys black powdercoated stock wheels would look good on mine or would it be overkill?? I'm trying to save as much $$$ as I can right now b/c the wifes not working and the baby will be here anytime now so aftermarket rims aren't in the budget at this time... eventually 22's... but in the meantime what do you guys think if I did this?? Eventually this is what it'll look like when I can afford the 22's I want.
  18. Zip... topic related question... what do you think of the HSRK kit Vector is selling over on TBSS.com?? Think that really helps the heat soak issues any??

  21. You guys sure love cheap mods don't you? Did everyone on the site order one? Since the cheap mod thing is so popular I'm selling my special racing stripe kit for only $8... this kit will work on any color and can stripe multiple trucks. Various colors available... whos interested? Pics Below: BTW: I think the airdam spoiler looks retarded... but to each their own
  22. I had this discussion about a year ago w/ my trans guys (walt built trans in oceanside)... they are, with the exception of zippy , the most knowlegeable guys I have ever known when it comes to tranny's. The problems they said you would have to get past: *mating a 6 speed to the transfer case *finding a manual tranny that could handle the weight-vs-horsepower *the electronics to go w/ it *have a center console modded/built to get the shifter on the floor *building in a clutch and other parts that could handle tq transfer to all the wheels on launch without breaking itself After going over it they said you'd spend way more than its worth to get it done... and even then its not a sure thing that it would hold up. Estimating over $10k to do it right... I'll live w/ an automatic.
  23. TTT This thread is a good read for anyone who didn't get a chance to know Jeff that well before his passing. Just illustrates his passion and enthusiasm for his truck. Its a shame that we won't ever get to see it in action after he poured so much of himself into it.
